  1. Like Tomo already pointed out, what have Drogba and Anelka done so far? They've been playing this system for years, meaning they should be banging in goals left, right, centre. But the midfield is just too uninspiring to create chances for the forwards. It's simply undeniable. How long did he and Mata play together for? 4 mins, maybe 5. No good buying those players if you're not going to play them together. He was MOTM against Stoke, did quite well against WBA as well, despite the horrendous lack of service. Only disappointing outing so far has been the Norwich one, where Drogba didn't do any better either, but again nobody says anything at all about that. Sturridge is not going to play as a striker, it's clear. That ship has sailed.
  2. The cheek of the scousers to ask for cash plus Sturridge. They can fuck right off.
  3. It'll be better once this fucking window closes.
  4. Why I know a lot about Scolari. I know he's the only manager in the history of football to have won both the World Cup and the Copa Libertadores. But if you're talking about a good English team being failed by Capello, many would argue that it was impossible for Scolari to fail with that Brazil squad with Ronaldo at the peak of his powers. And you talk about his Portugal team, he lost to the most uninspiring Euro champions ever (Greece in 2004). Don't make silly points to boost your argument. Capello's league record is unquestionable and is undoubtedly one of the premier club managers in recent history, much much better than 'things' like a decent national manager Scolari.
  5. Thiago. The next big thing in Barca's midfield, supposedly Xavi's successor.
  6. Forlan joins Inter. Shame a likable guy like him has to go to those cunts.
  7. Those saying why do we need to build around Torres - because whether you like it or not, we paid £50 million for him to supposedly salvage our season. That one move indicated that he's the main man here and he'll continue to be so whether Drogba stays or goes. So let's think logically here - you make someone your focal point, next thing you do is go and build a team around him. This team and it's established set up is suited to Drogba who's more likely to find himself on the bench than on the pitch as things stand. Strangely enough this is not spoken about or pointed out nearly as often as it should be. Instead all the blame falls on Torres. Fair enough £50m is alot of money and you expect bang for that kind of buck. But if anything it's the negotiators who should be blamed for facilitating that sort of deal. Torres didn't hang around Anfield holding a placard saying buy me for 50m. Don't know why he gets beaten with that stick.
  8. In fact I personally thought he wasn't too good last season either.
  9. Moutinho, Marin, Martin, Ninis, Albrighton.
  10. Hazard good enough for you? Save the 30 million from Perreira, spend it on Hazard. Play something like this : -------------Torres------------- ---Mata-----------------Hazard--- -------------Lampard----------- -------Mikel-------Ramires------ Much more balanced.
  11. I called him a good player which you ignored. My only contention is that 30 or 22 or whatever price is, it can be used in more pressing areas. How a LWB cum makeshift LW falls into that category I don't understand, especially since we have Mata and are keeping Malouda.
  12. I'd rather let him and AvB prove themselves before I blindly endorse everything they do
  13. Maybe you just get easily pleased with a good player coming at a ridiculously high price, the money for which could have been put to much, much better use.
  14. I'm a nutter for those, thanks for that.
  15. Lampard's set pieces are a joke, especially his direct freekicks. Ditto Drogba.
  16. I was talking about Capello, who you claimed was inferior to Scolari. 1 CL, 7 Scudetto, 2 La Liga in 16 years from 1991 to 2007. During a time when Italian league was the best in the world. And all this with several teams, not one.Beat that.
  17. tell me what Defoe has done in the meantime.
  18. I want to cry. I bet so does Torres.
  19. Nothing much apart from being the best young (21 or under) striker in England's top flight for the second half of last season.
  20. Sturridge > Welbeck and Defoe. Should be picked imo.
  21. Cleverly gets picked for England squad. Welbeck too. But no Sturridge.
