  1. I don't think I could have said this any better so I'll merely copy-paste one of the reactions on another website :
  2. Jupp Heynckes seems to be doing well enough in his 3rd stint at Bayern.
  3. What's the big fuss all about? It's football, we 'support' and 'follow' faraway situated millionaires' playthings and pretend that other millionaires kicking a bag of air around for 90 minutes actually matters enough for us to continue shelling out good money on watching them do that. In the course of that we build up rivalries with other misguided fools and get involved in the whole 'my dick is bigger than yours' debate. It's tribalism, we're all hypocrites; we choose to become that when we choose to follow a franchisee. Chill out, none of it really matters. Plus, it was fucking funny. Love you geezer.
  4. Him and Rami have that wiry stubbornness lanky guys often possess. Deceptively strong. Maybe not a pivot unless stationed along side a pure destroyer, but certainly in a 3 man band *hint, hint, Mourinho*
  5. Crucially gives us room for error before the Spurs game.
  6. Did you see him gobble up Anderson for lunch? I LOLd.
  7. Some Spurs fan on the interwebs, responding to suggestions that we'll go easy on them after our win against United : That's right, bitches Don't take this the wrong way, Milan, because you know I like you and I'm not singling you out whatsoever, but these JT "jokes" are tiresome. They weren't very accurate to begin with (what with BOTH parties denying the affair ever took place), or hilariously funny (personally speaking, of course) and have outlived their shelf life.
  8. Haven't been active enough to observe things so I won't vote. Glad to see Peace among the nominations. Top man.
  9. Rambo getting into beast mode as the season draws to a close. Lad.
  10. Faded in the second half but hard to blame him, the poor guy has been run into the ground as a consequence of our next best option there being Moses/Marin/Benayoun. Still popped up with the awareness to lay it off to The Unmarked Juan (see what I did there?) to cap off yet another selfless performance for the team.
  11. Bit harsh. Gotze might have been at Dortmund since he was very young, but he's actually Bavaria-born. Expect Hummels to return to Bayern in a couple of years as well.
  12. When the captain of all captains, Mr EBJT himself endorses Luiz as his successor, there's little room for debate. I for one can't wait to see DL4 with the armband.
  13. The Premiership can do without Steve Bruce. Needs more Zola.
  14. Chelsea were an underachieving, 'almost - there - but - not - quite' side when he took over though, so that mentality suited the mood around the place and helped us become a force to reckon with. We are now bigger than all clubs bar United (domestically) and among the top 5-6 in Europe. Not sure that siege mentality would be appropriate now, as Mourinho found out to his cost in Madrid.
  15. I say this with no pretense - that 'rant' at Middlesbrough made me despise him, but I now think he's nothing short of genius to have gone ahead with that. Look at our form now! Yes, still some really odd results (particularly Southampton), but it will prove to be the turning point in our quest for a CL place.
  16. Expect him to tumble out of Luisao's pocket 2 days after the final ends, wearing yet another winner's medal bestowed upon him by the generosity of his teammates, the ones who carry him all the time.
  17. Crap footballer and a nightmare we can't get rid of soon enough.
  18. From the little that I've seen, the only place to be.
  19. My 2 cents Marin : Getting the inconsequential one out of the way first. I hesitate to comment on this one because he hasn't been given a fair chance. Then of course, he hasn't really grabbed the limited opportunities he's been provided. Why Benayoun gets a spot over him on the bench is a mystery. Maybe he stole Benitez's sandwich ... Moses : Really started the season brightly and offered a different option to the three amigos (direct running, 1 v 1) and if you'd asked me this in October/November, he'd won this hands down. Been a little bit off the boil since ACoN even though he pops up with a few goals every now and then without playing particularly well. All in all, decent enough, money wise as well. 6.5/10. Oscar : No secret that I simply adore him. Really good signing that's settled in very well and made the jump so quickly; it's like a cat landing on its feet. Not as eye-catching as the other two but so intelligent in his play, so technically wonderful on the ball and so hardworking off it. Amazing to think he's just 21. Will be here for years to come and is someone you'd build a side around. That we nicked him from Spurs is the icing on the cake. 8/10. Hazard : All eyes were on him when the season started and he immediately showed why. Started off like a house on fire and hasn't looked back since. His dynamic style has caught up with him somewhat in recent months and it shows in his performances. Disappears too much for my liking in some games but can really shift gears in an instant. We've been crying out for someone who can do something that makes us go 'WOAH!' and we've found that someone in Hazard. Again, someone who's landed on his feet, again someone who'll be around for a long time and again, someone who it's amazing is just 21. Injuries not withstanding, he'll be massive next year. 7.5/10 Ba : A little early to judge because he arrived in January but it's been par for the course from a rotational signing. Might have gotten a few more goals than he has but apart from that clinical edge it's all positive on the other fronts. Works hard, makes good runs, holds it up well. That knee hasn't been a trouble either. Both the goals against the Mancs were beauties. 6.5/10 Azpilicueta : Fantastic Dave is fantastic. Makes Ivanovic look like a poor fullback, and Ivan was voted the league's best a couple of years ago. Another young signing who's settled immediately and made that transfer fee look like a pittance. That he's made the Spain squad based on his season here says it all. 8.5/10 Special mention for Emenalo. He's done a sterling job.
  20. While the rest of the nominations drew more of a "Fuck yes!", Oscar's was in the "HOLY MOTHER OF GOD HOW HAS HE DONE THAT MY BRAIN IS ABOUT TO FUCKING EXPLODE HFJKLJFKPO,=YFYF!!!!!" category. So him.
  21. Exes can feel pretty precious sometimes. Mine rang me up yesterday, 2 YEARS after we broke up to rant about how I'd deleted her from my Facebook. Now, I've removed my Facebook account yonks ago so it made me laugh. I don't care enough about your presence to want to dismiss it from mine, stupid.
  22. Bosingwa, for laughing down the tunnel as QPR get relegated. You ledge.
  23. Fantastic signing for City if true. Our midfield depresses me.
  24. Kinda torn. Of course Mourinho is a great manager and even without the past baggage he'd be near the top of any managerial shortlist for a club like Chelsea. Personally, I'd be happy to have him but not distraught if not, so long as whoever comes in is given a fair crack of the whip, and by that I mean 2+ years minimum. The transitional season is over, these players (and the summer signings) are waiting for that missing ingredient that will turn them into England's dominant domestic team and for that to happen, we need some sort of continuity. Next season really should be our season if we handle things right; the Premiership is really not up there with where it used to be 5-7 years ago. Obviously with the names doing the rounds (Pellegrini, Simeone, Zola, Poyet, Moyes) I'm assuming the appointee will get the basics right (using these players to their strengths, managing the older guys well, tapping the u-19 talent, etc).
