Yes but clubs generally don't do this as it's very sneaky and ruins the respect of other football clubs. It's kind of an unwritten agreement that no clubs exploit this.

If we landed Rooney it would be great, providing he gets fit again, we'd have 20+ goals added to us, which is never a bad thing! Obviously someone will have to get cut out of the first team line up (I guess that'd be Malouda or Anelka) depending on what style we go for. I don't think Rooney will go across the road to City (out of respect for ManUtd) but that point also makes me think he wouldn't stay in England at all. For the sake of the national team I hope he stays in England (& goes to Chelsea), but I'm still with José here, I think he'll stay at United.

Anelka's had an extraordinary career, played all over the world at many different clubs. Good to see he can finally call one 'home', Chelsea FC. I admit, when we signed him back in 2008 I was thinking "This guy? Seriously?!" But my did he prove me wrong!! Good on you Nico! Missed the first half completely ( TFL.). But was glad to see Zhirkov get a goal in (what a goal!!). The line up didn't surprise me, was very happy to see Kalou back and as usual seeing Josh & Gael make a late appearance. Josh is showing some great touches right now, really excited to see him play, can't be too far off till he gets a starting role! This was a good game for our own confidence, hopefully we'll have Drogba, Alex, Ramires and even Lampard (if that's not pushing it) for Wolves and give them a right hammering :cfc:

Good review Kostas, although the substitution of bringing on Zhirkov certainly brought our attack to life in the 2nd half, but you're right, we're lacking a pure striker after Drogba. I think Anelka's now more adapted to playing wide
