  1. The thing with Ramires is, he needs to feel his way into a match. Every time we see him play he has a poor first 15-20minutes to settle into the game and then he begins to adapt. My problem with him at times is, he takes way too long on the ball, he needs to learn that in the Premiership you will always be under pressure when you have the ball, he needs to learn that once he's got the ball he needs to think quickly and pass it or keep it. Defensively he's been solid, he puts in good tackles and has good stamina. If he can work on keeping the ball then he will be a great asset to us, because we know he can pick a good pass (the pass to Cole today to set up Drogba's goal)
  2. I'll be the first to hold up my hands and say I thought he wouldn't be able to adapt to the pressures of this league. But thank god he's proved me wrong!
  3. Man of the match: Ramires. He had an outstanding game. Someone posted "let's hope he proves his doubters wrong" and my word did he do that! He was sloppy at the beginning but eventually grew into the game and made such an enormous contribution, especially in the first goal. His tackling, passing and running was on point and from here he can only get better. For the second goal, well.. Are we surprised? Alex is an amazing free kick taker, he could've had one at Marseille when he hit the post but today, almost Robert Carlos-esq!! Defensively, we were 100% focused. We knew they'd have quite a lot of possession, especially with a 5-man midfield, but in the final 3rd we closed them down so much. Essien, Mikel, ANELKA (who hardly ever back-tracks) & Drogba all did their duty and helped Terry and Alex defend. Ivanovic was as focused as always, I can not wait for Bosingwa to come back because Ivanovic the centre back will be a machine! A great open match anyway. A good way to bounce back from defeat at Manchester City, but there's still alot more to do. Aston Villa away next week, away, will be harder than this week.
  4. Don't forget about Nasri! He's been in some good form lately
  5. Hey guys, check out Pirlo's goal from last night vs Parma. Uploaded, by yours truly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85gVikbRZuM&hd=1

  10. Not as good as this.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUh-NcHi5ug
  11. Agreed! Borini, when he breaks through perhaps? I personally would like to see Anelka change to #9, but he seems to favour #39
  12. Alright so there's a lot of rumours going round about this kid, he's being dubbed the "new Lionel Messi" (like every other young player who can dribble a ball ). Anyway he's 19 and was with Barcelona until.. On July 1st, he and Barcelona cancelled their contract making him a free agent. Amongst Chelsea, Arsenal and ManCity are reported to be interested with City and Chelsea on the "verge" of signing him. Mirror Football reported last night that Manchester City were "close to signing" him. The Metro links us, City and Arsenal to him. A Different League says we're close to signing him because (I knew one outlet would mention this) Yossi Benayoun (him compatriot) has convinced him to sign for us. Anyway, here's a little clip of him..
  13. Haha agreed.. Time to close this thread perhaps
  14. We've still got those 2, I have no doubts that Cork will break through, Mancienne seems to have a cloudy future though. Sinclair was a different issue. He was clearly unable to play in our system or be the type of player we were looking for. He may be "running riot" in the Championship but he clearly didn't show this quality when signed to us.
  15. This would be a great signing for us! But if we wait till he's a free agent I fear Real or City may snap him up. We could certainly do with the guy, Ricki's absence has left a void in a back up experienced defender you can bring on for the last 15minutes to hold out a lead or something, Mexés would be perfect for this. I don't believe it would hinder Bruma's development either because he'd still get chances. Also we'd see Alex step up his game a lot more.
  16. To be fair, we name stands after our legends, that's something. I can picture sitting in the Frank Lampard Stand one day!
  17. Yeah, I understand that concern, but come on, We are the famous CFC
