Indeed, as I said, he makes up for it very well with his reactions to get down low and save those shots. However there is a difference in his approach to the top corner shots now than there was before his injury.. Though I don't dare dispute he's still world class. I'd say 3rd best keeper in the league behind Hart & Reina.

Diabolical decision hinders Chelsea's Champions League hopes

We have to win then.. Conceding in this game, is very likely. -
Well from what I'm being told, they're still not 100% confident on his fitness ect. But most NUFC fans do believe it's only a matter of time before he becomes part of the first XI. Definitely right about Simpson though. My mate said he hopes Pardew sells him in Jan so they can look for better. They have been very good with bargains this last 12months!

Only reason I can think is because of Cassano's situation. Guy had heart surgery and will not play again this season. But Gillani said he'd promise to keep a place for Cassano next season, so I imagine AC Milan will only want a loan deal.

Brilliant contributions from everyone

He's average at best. My NUFC supporting mate doesn't really see the big hype. He's good, so he's doing a good job for Newcastle. But they know it's only a matter of time till Santon displaces him.

Good ol' flip-flop.

He's trying to work with what he has. What he has isn't a quality squad. He got a few signings in what was left of the summer window, a possible failure of him and the club to fail to work quickly, Modric quickly comes to mind. He hasn't been given the resources he needs yet. Let him have a chance to build a squad and then watch his philosophies and styles be implemented correctly. Then we will see results. Porto bought into it, and it bought them ultimate success. Give the guy a chance. It's not started well. Granted. So give him a chance to correct this. The failure comes about as a failure of the squad to adapt, so he is trying new things, but they're not being done properly.

It's all I can donate for now, sort of in&out of employment. Glad to help though.

He's adapted his game to make sure he covers it well though. Doing the basics a lot better, like making himself big. On the opposite side, he gets low very. very well. In that regard, his reflexes are still top notch. But he doesn't fly around any more as such. You won't see the spectacular from him, especially top-corner dives. Might relate to that persistent back-injury too, though I think it's psychological.

Yeah even text alignment's been messed up! When you try to make text aligned to the middle, it still comes out to the left :S
-
I knew he wouldn't tbh. When's the last time he went left the ground to make such a stretch? I'm afraid that's the biggest asset he lost after that injury.
-
It frustrates me we have no-one to step up to his plate though! Josh, yeaah but he's not on that scale yet that we can give him Lampard's weight. Ideally, a fix in January for this problem would be nice. But I don't think it'll happen till summer 2012 now.
-
Let's hope so! They're proven their ill-nature in the past with their - what looks to be - changed ways just becoming an appeasement. I think they're too pre-occupied with the whole stadium-cpo affair, that now, they're just letting the football-guys get on with the football

Lol do you remember the whole Pienaar fiasco? They asked Carlo about it and he literally said "I have no idea"

Arsenal will hold a lot of interest, but we all know their reluctance to spend such money. If they are, they're also linked with a £30million bid for Mario Gotze, so either/or for them. We need a winger more than anything.. But we do also need the spark in midfield. Hazard & Modric in summer, with a right-back, would be perfect.. As a foundation for future progress/signings.

Big strides by the club to go as far as hiring an architect ect. Maybe now the CPO will have assurances? Although of course it'll take more than that, still the issue of transparency.

After Carlo's first year, I thought the club was heading in the right direction with the releases of Ballack, Deco, Belletti & Cole (< to a lesser extent). However we soon realised that was a farce. He also faced the "José problem" when the board signed Torres (like when José had Shevchenko forced upon him). I hope this time, we have no such communication-break downs. The right players must be brought for André.

Fair enough. I agree especially with this last line that I've highlighted. Though we have a squad not worthy of a title-run anyway, I'm still confident he will fix this to keep us in the top4 and fighting in domestic cups, as well as a respectable run in the Champions League. His true test, for me, comes this summer in the market.

Question is.. Will he get disillusioned by that time? At Chelsea, I mean.
-
He said he felt dizzy & sick though. Remember, he'd also received a kick to the head in that first-half.
