Probably controversial but honestly think Sarri would be amazing with this squad... He plays a clear, consistent system they would learn and just deploy. Enzo and Cole Palmer would be phenomenal under him. He was a bit frustrating last time but he had a very ill-fitting squad and had to rely on Hazard to carry the team. Think he would really love this group and his clear and strict system would be good for a group of inexperienced kids to just learn and play imo.

Assume that absolutely no one here is surprised. Think we've conceded a minimum of 2 goals per game now in the last 5 or 6 games? I can give Poch some leeway when we are dominating with lots of chances created and the players don't finish, or we concede few chances but the opposition are unbelievably clinical, but games like this the blame fundamentally has to lie with him. Poch has been good for Connor Gallagher but otherwise his style really doesn't suit the squad, and he has failed to adapt. Cheaper to replace him than make another £1bn in signings. I think around about now is probably the right time to sack him, IF we can actually find a good replacement who is ready to start now - to have time to assess before preseason and have a full preseason. If not, may as well stick with him for now while conducting the search.

I increasingly like the look of Chukwu. Didn't really see the point in him at first but I can totally see him blossoming into a nice little player.
-
Presumably he must have picked up a small injury
-
Finally starting to actually outplay them a bit
-
3 more to be somewhat likely to win
-
And there is that moment of magic that the entire strategy hinges on.
-
This did make me laugh though
-
Think it is obvious Poch got the strategy horrifically wrong in first half, maybe he was surprised by the way Sheffield have come out and played, or maybe he's just out of ideas given injuries. But we've got enough options on the bench to change the setup and start to outplay Sheffield fucking United, if he can't do it then honestly he should resign.
-
Seems to be Enzo/Caicedo vs about 20 Sheffield United players at all times in midfield
-
Can't progress play down the flanks well because two defensive fullbacks Can't progress play through the middle because Enzo/Caicedo Basically relying on moments of magic from Palmer, Madueke, Jackson etc
-
Don't be too hard on Petro, Cech used to fall for those as well... Been a great player for us so far.
-
If that isn't just the most typical thing ever. Dunno what our attacking plan or pattern of play is supposed to be.
-
Disagree - that will be true if we win our games in hand, but not before.
-
Yeah there is slim chance we could make 6th at end of season still, but better not to think about it...
-
Arsenal, Villa and Brighton have beaten them 5 or 6 nil in the last couple of months at Bramall Lane. No excuses today.
-
Impossible to compare then vs now. He had a squad full of experienced talent many of whom could be considered to be amongst the best in the world in their position, with the experience to deliver results and manage games: Kante, Kovacic, Mendy, Azpi, Thiago, Rudiger, Jorgi, etc, and he got top 4 with 67 and then 74 pts, before Arsenal improved a lot and Newcastle, Brighton etc emerged. The league has been getting harder every year and is brutally hard now, everyone in the top 10 is pretty excellent. Tuchel has now lost the league in Germany despite gaining Harry Kane who has chipped in 32 goals in 28 appearances. Calling for him back is like calling for Mourinho back. Sure, they did special things here, with the squads and the state of football at the time, and the trophies they got were very impressive. But the situation at the club now and in the league now is just not the same and they do not have the patience to build something over time. Poch is pretty meh but he's much better suited to our situation than either of them would be, frankly continuing with Graham Potter would have been better than a move for Tuchel, Mou or Conte type managers. They are all phenomenal beasts in the right situation but this situation is not the one they excel in.
-
I miss his passion and the way he grabbed Conte's hand and stared him in the eyes... But not much else.

Haha Matt Law has locked down his comments so that no one can reply to most of his posts. Suicided his own career for a few quid from Mason Mount. Now publicly known as a fraud, lacking integrity and honesty. It says it all about the media coverage around us that the main journalist known for publishing Chelsea news actually hates Chelsea and supports Villa.
-
Cannot express how much I hope we do NOT sign Osimhen for big money. One insane season in a joke league. Napoli. Just NO.
-
Palmer a legend already. Joe Shields should stay for bringing him to us. Rest of recruitment staff and Poch can go. Eghbali needs to appoint a good football guy to run the club, appoint the staff (including medical) and slowly fix this mess of a playing squad over the next couple of years. Going to be a long ride.
-
The landslide from the moment Caicedo made the error is just pathetic. Not sure the club is fixable in the short term. Can sack Poch but wont help imo. So many people not good enough: owners, the directors of recruitment, manager, players. Would take basically the same exercise we've just done and similar money but with people who know what they're doing who do it slowly over a few years probably.
-
The £200m Enzo Caicedo experiment is the most disappointing thing to me personally tbh. Two players for huge money that were young and cost their clubs a few million before we bought them for insane money after a brief period of them playing at a high level.
-
Thiago limits us tactically and it is his final season. I don't disagree with dropping him and trying to move onto a system with a higher line tbh.
-
Don't get me wrong, Poch has not been impressive, but he has tried all sorts of combinations throughout the season and this is pretty much our average result/performance irrelevant of which combo he has tried where. At the end of the day the players haven't been good enough. Poch hasn't been impressive, but the many expensive signings who have simply not delivered are the bigger fundamental problem imo.
