  1. Might be wishful thinking but if he comes back fitter and able to play a decent number of games, keeping him makes a lot of sense. However, giving him a 3 year contract now is a huge risk if this long layoff hasn't solved his problems.
  2. Not surprising. They might come to their senses as the atmosphere at games deteriorates even further. It's going to be a bumpy rest of the season. On Potter. What a clueless non-entity. Just some guy who won the lottery.
  3. More scary than losing to bottom of the league Southampton at home is the real possibility this won't be the end of Potter.
  4. Fantastic player. When he feels like it. I don't see him as a leader though. Time will tell I guess.
  5. Potter is sucking the life out of Chelsea right now.
  6. He just hasn't stepped up mentality-wise. I bet he genuinely doesn't feel today's result is a big deal. Away from home, mid-table clash, 1-1. "I'll take that" he thinks. I hope the board get rid of him now but I fear they will keep him for at least the rest of the season; a mixture of arrogance and delusion.
  7. Offside but yeah he's got to go. It's sad but with the new players this team aren't as bad as this.
  8. Gallagher is not good enough. Mount isn't really good enough either. I really don't see anything in Hall. Poor quality match overall but I liked the glimpse of Mudryk's ability! I wish they'd tried to get it to him more rather than always pushing the ball out towards Ziyech for him to do his so-called party piece. Looking forward to seeing more of what Mudryk can do.
  9. Mount's awareness and vision is truly pitiful
  10. Decent try by Silva! That's called a shot on goal, attackers!
  11. Would this lot not turn their noses up at Bielsa? He hasn't really won anything of note after all. I really wouldn't like Poch here. The 3rd in a 2 horse race guy, and the 2nd in a 1 team league guy. Would not be optimistic at all with him in charge. What about the Germany coach? Didn't do great at the World Cup but did well with Bayern which means he could probably command the respect of these players. It's slim pickings right now I fear.
  12. Yeah, I don't claim he's elite. I can't crap on him though after that CL win. The other thing is, when he came in after Kepa it was like a breath of fresh air. Kepa is beyond shit.
  13. Yup, it is poor. Kovavic and Jorginho in particular are football Kryptonite. I think the attitude of the players is a big problem as well though. Far too often they lumber around looking like they're moving in treacle, playing at 50% effort. Very little basic professional pride among them I'm afraid.
  14. Nice little holiday for him now!
  15. Absolutely. I think it's his price tag. It's the old "if he cost that much, he must be good". I reckon if he was called Keith Atkinson bought for £5m from Bradford, it would be a different story. The speed with which people started to crap on Mendy as well is depressing. Yes he was in bad form and he may indeed not be suitable long term, but he played a massive part in that CL.
  16. These players are toxic. Potter will be fine both personally (that massive contract 🤦‍♂️) and professionally. The club on the other hand is in deeeeeep trouble.
  17. What was it Tuchel said? It's the same because the players are the same? Yup.
  18. I could list a bunch of players who look good to me; who exhibit passing, finishing, movement, tenacity etc. However, I don't have a ability to say whether they could be brought here and all that would translate. I'm not a scout or analyst even though that would be a sweet job! What I do know from past observations of our transfers is that a player like Felix is precisely the profile who comes here and struggles; it's actually uncanny how much he fits (that's why I said I "knew" he'd end up here). I'm almost certain this guy will flop if he comes here. I've seen this play out way too many times; he'll come here, get an elbow to the face or stud to the shin in his first game or two, and sink so far into himself we'll forget he plays for us. Furthermore, I'd also say that this kind of activity might actually be a big red flag for players who do have the ability, mentality and competitiveness we need (to be challenging). That's why I'd also be sceptical on Enzo. Sorry, I don't have a list, and all the above is just my (uneducated) opinion. It is based on observations at our activity and performance though. I do hope I'm wrong 😀
  19. They absolutely do. However, several of them also have the heads of a lot of managers; title winning managers. They keep doing this. The culture at the club (and new players seem immediately infected with it) is as soon as the manager does something they don't like, they just down tools and he'll be gone in weeks. It's got to stop.
  20. I knew Felix would end up here eventually after failing to fulfil his early promise at AM. I just knew it 😂(it yet might not happen but still). I'm sure he's a nice lad and I'm sure he'll love posting loads of insta photos of his jaunts around London. But where it really matters he won't make one iota of difference (I'd love to be wrong). Maybe it's because I'm jaded after years of transfer failures but I wouldn't be excited about this Enzo lad either. Small (relatively), massive fee/wages ... another dosser for the Cobham Sixth Form Centre? We desperately need leaders. We need players who will consistently turn up and play with flair when they can but dig in when necessary. Players who aren't shit scared of the opponent and their goal! I can dream.
  21. So disappointed in him overall. Another one who's come for the huge pay check in the twilight of his career. Can't blame him though, the club need to wise up.
  22. I think part of it is that our "senior" players now would actually be supporting players of previous teams. Stick them in a team full of leaders and warriors and they'd rub along ok, raised up by the level of their teammates. When it's on them to be the leaders and set the tone consistently, game-to-game ... nothing. The exception is Silva of course!
