Wonder if any club had ever tried sending a manager on loan? 👀
-
Not much point in keeping 19 yo goalkeeper on bench and waste him. He either has to play or go and come back in few years. The satellite club may be an answer to a lot of questions, it doesn't seem to be organized very swiftly though.

I think the important question is how low can the club drop to stay sustainable. Missing out on Europe this season is bad, but doing it twice would be catastrophic, especially given the never ending transfer lists, so there must be a safety switch somewhere. IF we had a good run until the end of season, it would still make Potter's stint a 50/50 terrible and okay-ish. We are playing "ok football" compared to this horrendous 15 games run, but is it ok football compared to City, I'm not sure. But hopefully there is some upward trajectory, yet it's still just 3 games. Still feel like GP job is hanging more on availability of good replacement, compensations and PR, than GP himself now. I just hope it won't be a Tuchel 2 aka trust the bs, have a preseason, buy even more Brighton players, spread more midtable mentality and sack him 6 games into new season. Very interested in how it will play out and how will the next games go.

Perhaps Chelsea needed him more, than he needed Chelsea. No way to pull the stuff you can pull on some exotic-league 17 yo on KK. About Mount, I'm not watching him very closely, but seeing his ways on SM sometimes, the history and current form, I can only hope he isn't going the Barkley road. Well, maybe minus the booze luckily, but still, he needs to grow up a little fast to utilize his potential. And about the GK, I feel some people think that with new GK we will suddenly stop conceding. Well, that's not the thing even with elite GK and I doubt any of such will be available. Mendy is solid, Kepa is electric, but sometimes genius. They are decent asset as a duo. Slonina is also on the roster. Who can we replace them with?

Very much this. I'd see upcoming 3 games much more "make or break" than previous two. Getting job done is a must, but if there is a momentum and improvement on the pitch, it means something finally budged and we can reevaluate Potter in the summer perhaps. If not - what is due long time ago is due. And still I would not forget the fact that missing on Europe is a criminal offence on Chelsea level, especially given a lot of corporate and squad issues were fixed or are being fixed after the takeover.

I would not go as far as considering this a PR move, but nevertheless weird move, given the amount paid. May be some truth to rumors that Arsenal baited the club into buying him. Not like all Boehly's transfer activity is perfectly reasonable and easy to explain anyway. His skillset may be a useful asset to have in a squad, but he certainly still needs a lot of work and pushing him into first team won't do him much favors. I'd hold with a judgment for a while, yet 80 mil is bit much for rather raw impact sub. Time will tell I guess, at least he seems to be rather level-headed (bar the Arsenal insta-love) and hard working.

Until he doesn't. And this circle had happened like 5 times already since he is here. But I love this optimistic atmosphere here after the game, that is 10 times of what it would be previous season. Some genuine joy after all the crap of late.

Sure, my point is it's quite shocking how reactionist the crowd can be. It was actually relatively exciting to watch the team doing good job yesterday, but better not to get carried away with it - we are not over the slump yet and actually far from it. Not even mentioning Havertz, Sterling and Mudryk (lol) being supposedly top players now, even though they were shit and 100% onto transfer list 6 hours before. This kind of short sighted perception of things and talking about "building for future" at the same time seems quite funny <;

Bellingham seems to be an example of how to spoil a literal kid by trying to crown him king of the world before leavig high school for whatever reason.

We scraped two wins, Potter GOAT, all is forgiven, we have zero problems, who cares we are closer to relegation than Europe, hey, we've had a lucky tap-in against Leeds and beat Dortumund without key players, glory is here!
-
It is, but as it was said before, players don't need much additional motivation in CL games, they will do their best on their own. The game is far from over, but IF scrapping a win with Leeds and somehow scrapping a CL advance will overshadow all the issues that showed in last 15 games and convince the board that the 600 million machine is running smooth, I doubt it will be a good thing long-term… Apparently, a lot of people shut up after Leeds already, so there's that…
-
Boehly delighted his yes-man Potter had scored. Oh wait… but who cares, this will be dragged forever now.
-
Maybe he doesn't realize Ted Lasso is about Crystal Palace, not Brighton…
-
What's up with the mob crying for Mendy out asap? Did we suddenly decided that Kepa's deficiencies he was bashed endlessly for since day 1 are completely fine and he's our rock-solid no1 now? Wtf is up with people.

I see clips on twitter by our fans of "Brighton playing beautiful football", and letting alone the fun fact of us getting the wrong Brighton manager, they are basically playing so despised sarriball on those clips. Some people can never be satisfied I guess 😂
-
We are clearly going 1-8-1 as an endgame, given the transfer activity. I don't really get what does all that 3 atb vs 4 atb fuss is about. We are not parking the bus anyway, so what's the difference? Fun thing is it's not like every single team have it's distinct formation - teams are generally slightly altered variant's on what's on top at the moment, because, you know, there's an opposition playing certain formation and, you know, it works. Football went from 4-4-2 to some form of 3-4-3 so I don't see a point of reinventing the wheel for sake of it. Unless Potter is seriously about to pull some Ted Lasso stuff, but it doesn't seem like it so far.
-
There was some rumors that the ownership somehow wanted to influence the squad selections and formation and it didn't go down well with Tuchel. May be some truth to it, may be not…
-
You could say the very same thing on facebook conversation of my sunday league team and no one would bat an eye. The only difference is Chelsea used to win CL and we are having tactical briefings in form of barbecue and beer 😂
-
😂 The club's official twitter account also acting like we've got another CL final. Guess that's our standards now.
-
If 1-0 with Leads that gains us nothing will be used as a proof that Potter is a genius, Boehly was right and the machine is gaining speed, and all our problems are gone, I'm in for terminating Fofana's contract this summer 😂

wrong thread

Every time I see the "data" bs I hope someone smacks them in the face. Maybe they are looking at the minesweeper instead of actual data they are supposed to look at or forgot to hire someone who actually knows how to read it. I'd much more prefer someone performance orientated, not "data oriented" as maybe they don't realize there are no awards for xG (that often only shows how hopeless the team is).
-
From some time I feel like a lot of our transfer business is done with the second club Boehly wanted to buy in mind…
-
I'd dare call bs on this. We still have Mendy, who can well compete with Kepa for the spot and Slonina coming, so how many unsellable goalkeepers on similar level do we need?
