If Frank is going to be a top manager, with a lot of money and the right signings, he should be able to make us challengers for the start of the 22/23 season.
-
Almost zero creativity from out midfield yet many fans still think Jorginho, Kova and Kante is a great trio. All they give us is lots of posession which we do nothing with time and time again. They do not compliment each other at all and are costing us bigtime! Kante has gone from one of the very best, most important players in the league to a bang average bits and pieces player who's not great at anything anymore. Need to rip up that midfield!

The results against Spurs and Arsenal just papered over the cracks. I keep saying it, but if we're to challenge for the title nearly the entire team need to be replaced. It's painful and frustrating to watch us like this, but there's no quick fix like there once was with a change of manager. Frank is going to need at least another 2 seasons and hundreds of millions to fix this!
-
Point won in the end.
-
Our keeper has kept us in it against a shit team. Says how bad we are!
-
To be fair he looked good enough for the first half dozen games of the season but he's lost his way since then.
-
James is far too casual in every area of the pitch. Not a fan of him I have to say.
-
Badly need Loftus to return to his best. Sadly, far too often Mount's first touch is just not good enough and attacks breakdown.
-
Scrappy, boring first half from both teams. We should be tearing apart teams as bad as Brighton.
-
A goal up but Brighton have been as bad as any team we've played this season. We're working hard but not playing very well. Lack of creativity, as is the norm.
-
Yep, that was a hard but fair challenge by James.
-
James getting into good positions but wasting them every time.
-
Maybe move him to the main players thread now he's made his league debut?
-
Some fans are saying his height will stop him from making it as a defender for a top team. While it is a handicap i think he can overcome it with his pace and good movement. He also played without any signs of nerves which suggests he has a good temprement.
-
But James has never had a good run of form for us. IMO, he's been hugely overhyped off the back of a season for Wigan. Time will tell if he's good enough. Tomori did have a good run of performances but he's mostly struggled the last few months. Young or old, if they're not playing well then we have to honest and say so, not excuse them because of their age. Not getting carried away after one performance, but I was more impressed with Lanptey than I have been with James.
-
I shouted at him for not shooting, then GOAL and I'm shouting gtf in!!!!
-
Frank and the boys deserved every bit of flack they got for the pathetic first half, but credit for the way they fought back.Think we deserved the win in the end. We're not all that, but my god Arsenal really are a steaming pile.
-
Need to play away every game.
-
In terms of points we are closer to Norwich than Liverpool. That is a true reflection of where we are and how much of a complete rebuild is needed. Nearly all these players are just not good enough!
-
Get four sent off to end the game and save us from anymore of this
-
Not much he can do with these players. Not Franks fault that Rudi just did that embarrassing pass
-
This team is the worst we've had since the days before Mathew Harding.
-
Tomori and Rudi are every bit as bad!!! Our entire group of defenders are relegation level defenders.
-
They should have plenty of money to spend. Fanbase worldwide second only to Utd and one of the real giants of Euro and World football. Massive Nike deal. Looking to expand Anfield even more. Klopp's extending his contract so I can't see them going backwards any time soon. They're becoming scary good and hard to beat like the best Liverpool teams of old. I think even City will struggle to win the title in the next few years. If we do it, it will be by far our greatest title win! But we're at least 2 seasons and a few hundred million on new players from doing that.
-
Whoever the manager is over the next few years, if we're going to challenge Liverpool, they're going to have almost completely rebuild the current team. Better keeper. 2 left backs. At least one right back or two if James doesn't improve enough. Sell Christensen, Zouma and Rudi who are all really little more than 4th choice level. Tomori might make it, so keep him. Though all the midfielders have ability, they just do not work well enough no matter what combo we play. Serious lack of creativity and goal threat. If RLC can get back to wherw he was i would sell two from Kova, Kante and Jorginho. Quite obviously we lack a striker of the quality that Liverpool and City have, but hopefully Tammy will remain an important player. Need experience so keep William for another year but loan out CHO and buy big for a wide right attacker. Sell the likes of Barkley, Giroud, Pedro .
