Seems sensible, which means it will not happen.

Not convinced by this guy. Good to know we potentially have a get out of jail card. At best for me, he is a HG option from off the bench from what I have seen of him at Utd and us. However, his wages on any long term deal would need to reflect this.
-
Good player and one I rate. However, Cucu is making a late run for PotY for us. If we sign this guy, Cucu would either have to move position or be sold. Not sure about either of those options as we have massive issues at GK, CB and CF that need addressing first. Then there is also RB where we are weaker now James is finally being converted for midfield.

It is how pedestrian we are that is the most concerning/annoying. The one benefit of having such a young side is that the engery levels should be high. Instead it is like OAP walking football most of the time.

Funny you say that because in the last ten games we have been midtable. https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/premier-league/form-guide/ten Either way, he had to start those games as we had no one else. However, I just don't see how he impacts games apart from being a scrappy ball winner. I just expected more from him considering the way people spoke about him prior to coming. Either way, he'll be starting for the foreseeable. Hopefully he'll pick up the purple patch he had at the end of last season and at the start of this again at some point.

They have already done this. However, as you say prior, we are still too naive to beat them - both on the pitch and in the dugout. For instance, Marasca will have us playing for a draw from the outset at best. He even did that against a piss poor Utd side. I presume because they are a 'name' rather than anything he saw them produce this season.

Just out of interest what games in the last three months has he elevated the team, beyond winning the ball in fairly clumsy/rash fashion?
-
Srating to think my initial opinion was of him correct. I still do not see what everyone sees in this guy. If ever there was a chance for him to prove he is a big time player, it was the past three months. However, without Lavia he is still just tackling very clumsily and not having any effect on any game he plays.

Can't agree. Gallagher has been written off since he was about 14 years old. Each year he has proven those that wrote him off to be muppets. Technically he isn't great. However, equally, he is always effective despite not being the player people want in the position he plays for one reason or the other. Essentially, he is a prime example of a player whose club should make him a squad player at minimum. Instead we sell him in a swap for Felix whilst pretending Caicedo is massive upgrade for £80m+.

Love how Cucu has come back to silence the boo boys. Never got why he got hated so much. Prime example of a whipping boy.
-
At best he becomes a Ledley King type of player for us.

Not happy with Sancho and Sanchez starting.
-
Exactly this.

Said this in the Summer but people were going on about underlying stats with him. The biggest issue is Sanchez, he really isn't good enough. Jorgensen I still haven't seen enough of but what I have seen doesn't make me think he is much more than a back up, but GK's are always hard to judge. For me, Petro should be No.1 next season with Jorgensen as No.2. Penders will then be the project GK on loan. Kepa should get sold to Bournemouth and Sanchez can go play in France until his contract is up or something.

With Samu, wasn't it his team refused to sign one of those ultra long contracts and his image right deal the club want everyone to sign? https://www.google.com/amp/s/metro.co.uk/2024/08/12/samu-omorodion-rejected-chelseas-disrespectful-offer-21405393/amp/

Did he see it or did he see him get out spirited by Fabian Schar and thought, got to put him somewhere else, then figure it out?

Yesterday's football. Pep has even admitted that part of this seasons results at City are due to a shift in the way the game is being played. It is going back the the style of the 00's in the PL.
-
Well most people on here were saying he was shite and wanting him sold. Especially the Summer before last.
-
Finally got him playing where he should've been playing after his first bad injury. Only now, after multiple injuries- which I put down to having the wrong frame to play a modern FB/WB role - we put him there.
-
I have big questions about him as well. I actually like the look of Delap. He does the basics well with regards to technique for a No.9, he knows where the goal is and is strong. He isn't a finished article but we aren't going to sign one, so as a result he is my realistic choice for CF. Gyorekes for me is benefiting from a weak league. I am not convinced about his technique and I worry that in the PL he won't be able to bully like he does in Portugal.

Can't read too much into the win. Soton are awful. While the win was good, the tippy tappy passing at grandpa speeds is still a major concern. For me, Maresca is a Pep acolyte that focuses too much to 'ball retention' that he: A) Has his team playing football at grandpa speeds endlessly cycling possession in non-dangerous areas of the pitch. This goes triple when one-nil up. B ) Hasn't got the memo that football is moving back towards quick transitions and physical football rather than the high possession, high technical skills game. Even tonight there were a couple of occasions the team could've transitioned the ball a lot quicker to get the forwards in behind. Instead safe passes where made to cycle the ball in the centre of the park which lead to nothing. As a result, I see the team continuing to drop points to any half decent team.

Yeah, apprantly 50%. Him doing well is good for us, unless he stays at Forest forever. This guy along with one of the Benfica CB's are my top two. Not sure. Nkunku looks like a player that looks good when everything is built around him. When it isn't he cannot do much. Essentially he is an ok-good finisher and cannot do much else. Fine for the Bundesliga, not really anywhere else. Nah. I think he will be back. The issue with his current performances is the PR of it. Sell him for under £40m without a clause and people will go spare. Not worth it without a obligation/optional clause in the contract. Tuttosport is wank and always put out what Italian fans want to hear.
-
Three if you include Brighton. Or did he lose his No.1 spot the season prior and then end up 3rd choice the season before he joined? Either way, whenever he has been No.1 he quickly loses the position due to his quality level. Real question now is how low does he go? 3rd choice next season, behind Penders is surely a possibility as no one in there right mind will buy him.
-
The bigger problem is when he did the injury Enzo kept him on for another 30-40 mins or so plus half time. It was clear when he did it that he had a problem with his hamstring. A responsible manager would've taken him off straight away.

Well the fee may be the same but the wages will be different. £60m+£120k wages vs £60m+£300k wages on 6 year contract is actually £97,440,000 v £153,600,000. That is the way the club will look at it, plus the projected value of the player at years 2-5 of their contract.
