  1. This squad was 5th because Conte did a poor job last season. As simple as that. With the current squad a top 4 finish is mandatory, specially when the manager is supposed to be a "seria winner'. If you look back at last season, the team didn't get a top 4 finish for losing games at home for teams like Burnley, and getting trashed by Bournemouth at home and losing 4-1 to Watford. Are you telling me Burnley, Bournemouth and Watford have better squads? Despite winning PL in 2015 and 2017, since 2011 in this forum people keep saying the squad is below average (usually to save the manager's ass from any kind of criticism). A team with Kante, Hazard and Courtois (3 of the best players in the last WC) is good enough to end the season inside the top 4, and imo its manager fault if he fail to do so. In other positions the squad is also full of decent players. People say William is "trash" (most people say so because they are angry that he showed Conte no respect), but when teams like Barcelona and United are looking after him, we should think twice if he is really that shitty. Chelsea squad is not only better than Spur's squad, but WAY better, and is in same level as Liverpool team.
  2. Its completely false that these 120m could be used to buy a lot of talented player. Right after a club sell players for big money, other clubs will overprice their own player in order to get the most out of the situation. I don't remember a single time when a team sold a player for big money then was able to invest the money in lot of good players. Liverpool sold Torres for 50m, then had to pay 35m for Andy Carroll. Junvetus sold Pogba back to United for 105m Euros, then had to pay 90m euros to get Higuain... Neymar was sold to 200m, so Borussia asked 105m for Dembele (!!). That 120m would not mean more quality in the squad, the team would still be getting the same players but for a bigger price.
  3. Cannot think about Bernard and not think about the 7x1.
  4. This. William is a frustrating player. His WC display was a typical William in so many ways (when the game is tough, he usually just gets the ball and then passes it to a nearby player, or try something stupid without producing any real chance of goal), but the names people are throwing around to replace William is quite pathetic if you ask me. Sometimes I get the feeling people think real football is like playing video game, where you can get a 19/20 years old player with an overall of 79, then after a single season the kid already is a 88 rated player...or some of them are salty because he put some emojis in front of Conte in a instagram pic.
  5. https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20180724/451091408172/malcom-chelse-willian-barcelona-burdeos-roma.html According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona offered 50m but Chelsea wanted 70m. The last offer was 50m + Andre Gomes. The offer was rejected, then Barcelona acted quickly and hijacked Malcom from Roma.
  6. What a load of bullshit. If you were talking about replacing William with someone like Bale or even Douglas Costa I would agree, but you are coming up with Zaha, Pulisic, Bailey and Fakir...United and Barcelona are going after William, but Chelsea fans want to replace William with Zaha or unfinished products from Bundelisga. I don't see the logic of some people. Last season Matic and Costa were labelled as useless, and some people were even suggesting that Morata (the man who made Torres looks a bargain) was better than Costa.
  7. There still is Cristensen, Zouma, Rudiger and Azpilicueta. Again, the last thing the current squad needs is another CB.
  8. I hope this is bullshit. The last thing the current squad needs is another fucking CB.
  9. Mate, people take everything seriously these days. Days ago someone was mad because the official twitter account kept posting the usual shit despite the Conte/Sarri soap opera. 2 days ago people were saying Conte is CLASS because of an ordinary official pr statement.
  10. never trust in a source that uses smiling emoji.
  11. Conte probably didn't even write this stuff, and only gave the "ok" for the the pr people who are paid to write formal and "class" official statements.
  12. I really don't understand why people think this kind of statement is "class act". Its pretty obvious its a pr statement made by pr people. After all Conte right now is a football manager without a job, and its natural that he must leave the impression that he doesn't have bitter feelings towards his former employers.
  13. I really dont know who thought closing the window earlier would be a good idea...we have just few weeks to buy players, but probably we will live with Real Madrid/Hazard rumors until the end of next month, because now the PL teams can't buy players after August 9, but they can lose anyone as long as other teams outside England can get new players.
  14. I dont believe for a second that an offer will be made. HiguaΓn is already 31, and he doesn't suit Premier League.
  15. Weird, no official word from the club, but the outlets keep saying he is gone.
  16. Messi got a lot of monumental great games in his pocket. About that Atletico performance, that was in a group stage against a team that would end playing in Europa League.
  17. But in this case Barcelona is paying 50 for a player is probably worth half of that price...
  18. Is the board really considering not selling him for that price?
  19. Hahahaha The first time I've seen someone claiming that Hazard is the best player in this World Cup.
  20. Its gone...he said it was "pressed by mistake". lol
  21. Hazard won't improve. Hazard is a very good player, but this is probably what he is about. He is world class, definetely, but will never be the kind of player that we probably expected he would be one day. I mean, Hazard won't ever be the best player in the world. He has been a Chelsea player for the past 6 years. Do you remeber a GREAT performance from Hazard in a big UCL match? We are talking about 5 editions of UCL. Hazard is already 27 years old. 6 or 4 years ago he was 21/23. So the excuses that he was still a "kid" was okay back then. Right now, not anymore. To be honest I would choose Lampard and Drogba over Hazard easily.
  22. Conte is leaving Chelsea in the same situation the was when he arrived: no UCL football, and with an uncertain future. He was superb in his first season. Many teams started to emulate is tactics (even Wenger and Guardiola), and even in World Cup we a lot a lot of teams playing with 3 at the back. But he was terrible in his second season, and I just can't accept people saying he wasnt backed, because this squad is at least good enought for a top 4 finish, instead the team ended with 7 points behind Tottenham, and to honest you must be really crazy to say that Spurs squad is better than Chelsea. This was probably the worst moment to be without UCL football. This is a post WC window, and the team is completely toothless in terms of keeping the best players and atracting new ones.
  23. Get a grip. Its just a fucking twitter account. Stop taking Twitter as serious stuff.
