I like the idea of the two year loan. Could be almost like what Real did with Morata. Obviously not exactly the same since we bought him for a lot but still.

But we need a defender like Zouma. You don't just get the same sort of players. A player of Zouma's profile is needed in the squad. Very useful late game and also actually a good natural defender. People have forgotten that when fully fit and on form the guy is actually a good one v one defender. I will stick my neck out and say Zouma can still be a very good defender. Naturally people have forgotten because he's been out for long but he was our best CB by far before he got injured.

Seems like that forward role is truly his best position. Conte saw it from ages ago. If he can develop a killer mental in the final third he'd actually be a very good player. We should get Lampard to teach him his tricks.

The thing is, there aren't many outstanding CBs out there at the moment, so we might as well work with what we've got. Christensen and Zouma have pretty high ceilings anyway.

This is what I was hoping for when he was here before under Jose. I was sure Jose would curtail his eccentric bits down significantly but I guess the move to PSG helped with that. But Conte has taken him to the next level. One more season like this and he's a bonafide world class centre back, no one can tell him anything. I'm delighted to have him back in the team because it looks like for most of it he's cut the bad stuff he used to do out a lot. Guy has been the best centre back in the PL this season, and is a huge leader in this team clearly. Absolute warrior. Credit to Antonio who is always so good with defenders like him. Tis why I also have quite high hopes for Christensen. Think Antonio will guide him well.

After seeing how much that goal meant to him I don't think I can really dislike him as a player anymore. Looks like he truly cares. Fair play. Way to redeem yourself Gary.

Just about to highlight this. Someone of Silva's profile needed for sure.

There are much better options than Strootman available. He's also very injury prone so I'd stay clear. To me he isn't an upgrade on Matic, they are on a similar level probably. If we want a player of that profile you'd have to go for someone more outstanding, like Fabinho. I personally think we need someone with a different profile though, I'd also like to have a more forward thinking CM that is solid defensively, that can actually affect the final third in a positive way too.

He's not better than Matic so I wouldn't sign him. He would fit though.

Maybe Tolisso, Bakayoko, Fabinho, or more offensively rounded guys like Dahoud or Tielemans (both very young of course). Loads of top B2B available this summer.

He's a natural goalscorer so would get goals but I'd much rather look at maybe Icardi or Belotti. I have a nagging feeling that he might end up here though.

When Christensen is back next season, how about we have Azpi as the LCB? Makes sense to me as he's much better on the ball than Cahill.

I understand @BlueLyon's concerns on Bernardo being too much of another Hazard but I think it might work. I see Conte is trying to change Hazard into more of a pure forward these days. If we could rely on Eden to get us 20/25 a season in all comps which he should be able to, a 15 goal contribution from Silva would be fine. Huge question is if we can get Eden to actually do this.

A lot of those players didn't make the squad for EURO16. And they still made the final which they really should've won.
