I would be ok with the transfer if he cost £25m but he's being quoted at proves double/triple that.

Marcos is pretty competent in almost every area of the game, proper all rounder, maybe quite weak defensively but he's improved as the season has progressed. He's better in almost every area of the game than him though. I think the only real thing Marcos has over him is his height. Emerson is having a breakout season at Roma, proper complete full back. Doesn't have a real weakness. A lot of Roma's attacks go through him on the left, but he's also quite strong defensively. If we compare him and Alonso statistically he blows him out of the water: Some maps comparing him to some PL LBs/LWB. He'd be a very smart, Azpilicueta-like signing I think. Still hasn't his prime yet either so is also going to get better. Edit: @manpe I forgot to actually add the images. Also added images of left backs with similar profiles to him.

Benzema might be off imo. I would take him as a Diego replacement because it would help out someone like Hazard loads.

Would be one of the best signings this summer. Could also indicate that CFC will spend big and bring in more players to up the level of the team.

I'm sure Conte works on this sort of stuff with the defenders in training all the time. Even Cahill doesn't always look too bad in tight spaces.

I like his profile. Technical Brazilian LB (can also play LM) who is doing very well in a defensive Roma system. Apparently he has concentration issues though but not extreme ones. He's looked impressive each time I've caught him though. One of my mates who watches Roma regularly says he's been a top 5 LB this season in Europe.

He's better than Alonso so yeah. Improvement.

Basically have a raw Yaya Toure next to Kante. His potential is huge. As long as we have a more creative wing back in the team this would be an amazing signing.

The LFs and RFs interchange quite a lot in Conte's system. Even Costa. What would be nice is seeing Costa, who likes to move into the channels of the left side of the pitch, interchanging with Mbappe who attacks the vacant space Diego left behind. Then you have guys like Hazard who would link it all up together. It'll work well imo. Also, we'd have a very capable Costa back up.

We need to stop calling them "Luiz-esque" moments to be honest. Even the best CBs in the world can make mistakes like that. It was just a mistake, one he's rarely made this season. Unfair to give them a name. You can probably count these sort of moments on one hand throughout the whole season so far which is fine.
