Homegrown, young, cheap(?), great technical ability, tactically sound, good potential, right type of player for our pivot... Would be an excellent squad player to buy, especially if we aren't resigning Lampard.
You must be reading a different forum, everyone here understands how vital it is for us to win this, people are just suggesting they'd rather have Arsenal in the top four than Tottenham - no one's saying we should roll over for Spurs... Obviously everyone's more interested in us securing top four...
Positioning is definitely one of his weaknesses but you're confusing positioning with his ability to go forward. Obviously he'll leave his CB partner alone if he drives forward with the ball - that has nothing to do with positioning. That picture is very misleading.
He won't blow his lid off if the referee does his job properly. It wasn't like he did it after 1 incident the referee didn't call. There were numerous ones, and all of our players were getting aggravated with the referee.
How in the hell can you compare that to Sergio Busquets incident? Wtf? Busquets didn't even get touched, and he was rolling around in pain pretending to be hurt. At least Luiz was man enough to not pretend he was hurt. Why the hell would he get banned? What Rafael did was cynical, it would've been a red card if Luiz didn't smile anyway, it is in NO way comparable to what Busquets did. My Liverpool and Arsenal mates are calling Luiz a legend for it. Were people calling Busquets a legend? Of course not!
Well, your own comment seemed black and white to me as well so I felt that I should say something about it. I don't think you can say for definite after Mikel hasn't played for 4 games that we play better without him. It isn't as black and white as that. We really aren't consistently above average whenever he doesn't play - we've played bad in games where Mikel hasn't played, and we've played bad in games he has. That's why I thought your comment was inappropriate.
Nah, I don't think what Luiz did qualifies as rolling around. Rolling around to me is when a player pretends to be hurt and pretends he's in anguish. Luiz wasn't in anguish, he was laughing.
I don't know what you look for in a captain but I look for passion. Yes, laying into the referee isn't necessary but his passion rubbed off on the players and alas we started playing with a little more fire. Luiz had every right to lay into Webb because he was giving a lot of nonsense decisions to United. Obviously he needs to calm down a tad little but that's why I said "future".
He didn't really "roll around". He was even laughing. Go watch again. It was a red card even if Luiz jumped back up and started doing back flips because it was right in front of the Lineswoman. There was no "simulation" in there at all.
