  1. https://t.co/HexOmSSqcc Di Marzio saying we’re signing him for 15m. 15m. 15m. That’s not bad at all.
  2. So why go for Drinkwater when he doesn’t offer anything new? Just because he’s home grown? We could’ve maybe gone for someone like Wilshere as well then who was on the market at that time... I’m sure I don’t have to list the amount of CMs we could’ve bought with that £35m instead. As mentioned above on here, Matic was sold months before - they had plenty of time; a lot of it was wasted on trying to negotiate on the Drinkwater deal. He surely wasn’t/shouldn’t have been our only option. There are plenty of good CMs about who would’ve cost the same or even less.
  3. I meant his role, basically. We have two DMs already so why sign another squad filler for £35m? Who isn’t even really offering anything more than Chalobah for example. Drinkwater was injured when we signed him too. It’s just not a great signing.
  4. Doesn’t offer that pass consistently or naturally enough. He would still be able to do that if he stepped out from cb for example. He won’t become a world beater in MF imo.
  5. VVD should’ve never went for £75m though, let’s be honest. Good points overall though.
  6. It’s not even that that’s the worst for me. We literally have his position in the squad covered in Kanté and Bakayoko. Such an unecessary buy. Doesn’t offer anything different. Constantly injured. On quite high wages also. He isn’t an elite passer, isn’t great at influencing the midfield, isn’t that athletic, just offers nothing interesting. Who ever sanctioned/recommended this signing needs to be sacked.
  7. If anything Emenalo was probably the cog holding it all together. He was the only one close to the board who actually had proper football knowledge and any sort of experience in the football world. Unless we sign a really good technical director everything will just go south from here onwards imo.
  8. Looks like Emenalo leaving has made no difference at all Emenalo was just a scapegoat for people, which is what a few of us have been saying for years on here... it’s clear to see the problem runs far deeper than that. Finally people are beginning to see this.
  9. Just bring back Tammy if we can’t get a good striker. No point in signing Crouch/Carroll/Rondon/Barnes.
  10. This might be a joke but I’d definitely take Kerry over Carroll.
  11. This is why I was so against the Drinkwater signing btw. We’ve already got his profile covered in the squad. What we really needed was a mobile creator in the middle to complement the other profiles we have in midfield.
  12. Yeah. Completed 5 dribbles (2nd highest in the game, same as Hazard. Wilshere has 6). Performances like this need to be the very minimum from Bakayoko though. He’s taking some positive steps finally. Let’s see how he ends the season.
  13. One thing about Bakayoko - he never really lets us down in the big games so far. Also at Monaco always turned up big time in the big games. Another positive performance. Almost carried our whole midfield with Kanté not doing too well.
  14. One of the worst crossers I’ve ever seen. So bad. Why would you not consider Rüdiger as a BPD? He has a good pass on him and is quite comfortable in possession. I know he has composure/concentration issues but that doesn’t really negate his general technical skills.
  15. Kinda starting to remind me of the Bakayoko deal.
  16. Hearing Sevilla or Dortmund. Either would work I think.
  17. Yeah, Tammy should just come back if they aren't gonna play him.
  18. That’s weird. Think I’d go with the Standard on this one though since they confirmed that Palmieri will be joining first.
  19. Yeah. He has connections at the club. The only two journalists I follow in relation to Chelsea are Simon and Matt Law from The Telegraph as they both have connects at CFC.
  20. I agree, however given Morata’s recent form, Edin must be surely licking his lips (even though he isn’t too on form himself atm).
  21. No, he gets way more goals and assists than Zaha. Zaha is more of a creating dribbler, Bailey is a wide forward like Alexis Sànchez or Martial or Son or Sterling for example. Zaha doesn’t score enough goals.
  22. Like I said. We’re not a team that pays the top dollar anymore so we need to take calculated gambles like this one. If we let him grow and prosper in the CL, and the likes of Madrid/City/Barcelona/Bayern come calling, we’re not going to afford him anymore. Thing about Bailey is he’s been thoroughly scouted by the club — we’ve been after him/keeping an eye on him since Genk days so if they felt like he’s worth the buy it’s fine. It wouldn’t really be a random purchase is my point. Quick question, how often have you watched Bailey/Leverkusen this season?
  23. I just seem him being a similar signing to Schurrle. Has shown glimpses in Germany but would blow hot & cold over here. He’s shown way more than glimpses. He’s legit the breakout star in Germany this year imo. Leverkusen’s star man. Also, he doesn’t have Schürrle’s technical deficiencies - his base technique is very good. Excellent close control, good eye for the pass. Has that killer instinct in the final third too and of course, has electric pace. One of the fastest players out there. Schürrle’s overall technique was quite poor, Bailey doesn’t have that problem whatsoever. Sure, he isn’t world class yet but he has all the right tangibles to become so imo if he joins the right club and is allowed to develop. He’ll go for big money, and hopefully since we’ve been tracking him for time plus the fact he’s a CFC fan, he’ll come here. These are the sort of signings we need to make now the club isn’t committed in spending millions on the best of the best anymore. Also, keep an eye out for Retsos at Leverkusen - excellent CB talent.
  24. Watched the whole game yesterday. He was superb. Would be a really good buy in the summer - his potential is outstanding. Also a Chelsea fan. He’s on something crazy like 13 goals and assists (8G, 5A) in 18 appearances (13 starts). Very impressed with him. Hope we go in for him in the summer. One of the best players in Germany this season, and his profile suits the PL and our need for a goal scoring wide forward perfectly. Can also play as a 9 if needed.
