Any European competition is an incentive imo. The way I see it, we have completely hit restart and need to start all over building into playing and competing for the league/champions league. Conference league football (with the new league table format) can give our young players much needed experience and play time for development. League cup + conference league football would be a good start.

I have serious doubts the club is going to give into Poch's demands about wanting another CM, and rightly so. There is much to be argued about the club giving Poch inexperienced players, but as far as central midfielders go we are more than set. Even if we sell Gallagher, we have Lavia coming back, Carney coming back, and we have Lesly at CDM who Poch refuses to play despite having 2 full seasons of senior level football. The club giving Poch only 2 years is looking like a very smart move.

If there is any truth to the agent talk then maybe its best offer? Don't see it happening myself either. Not sure we can overblow our wage budget anymore and certainly Arsenal and Bayern are far, far more appealing than we are. Not to mention he'd likely start at both clubs whereas god knows what we'd do with him here.

In James' case it sounds like a build up of scar issue that's only gotten worse due to previous injuries and other imbalances. I'd imagine they'd have to go in and scrape off the scar tissue and repair the tendons so that they heal properly vs relying on the body to heal it on its own.

Makes it all the worse when you consider Gusto looks to be heading the injury prone route as well given his knee+hamstring issues. Club is cursed. Simple as.

Our defensive organization and the gaps in midfield in both the build up/defensive phase has been going backwards. I get calling blame on the lack of quality from our players but as weeks progress we look more and more like a squad that isn't managed efficiently. I don't know what we are doing on the pitch and it just leaves me confused and angry. What are we doing in training?

Good points but playing devil's advocate, why is Enzo regressing? Caicedo who was excellent under DeZerbi, had no issues understanding his management. Why are our most senior players, Silva, James, Sterling, putting in very poor performances you could equate to someone new to the league?

I hope so because the level of sheer insult of our intelligence is Potter levels of arrogance.
