Still far too early to say he’s ready. Barkley took the piss out of Arsenal this time last year for Villa and many said we made a mistake loaning him out.
That being said, I am intrigued to see how he’d fair here in this system.
Balon d'Or's criteria changes every year. From which player had the best individual season to which player had the best influence to their club winning silverware.
He provides too much leeway for the keeper to know where he's going in his run up. Lampard did as well at times but when he did he slotted it bottom corner every time. Impossible for the keeper to get.
Keeping rhythm would make sense had he'd continue to play in a role that is natural to him vs something that isn't. And if anything this means he isn't playing Saturday against a shitehouse side like Newcastle.
You do not take a young player as raw as CHO by playing him out of position constantly and expect him to continue to develop.
It's maddening and I for one cannot find any legitimate reason to play him at RWB when Azpilicueta didn't even play against Norwich.
If anything this means he isn't starting Saturday so we will likely see a 352 I imagine. Which would be a mistake as Newcastle aren't Brentford. They are dreadful.
