I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt so let's say in this hypothetical you are right. Tuchel went along with it. But there again shows the problem. Great managers wait for the right target vs go for the wrong one. It boggles me how these same board members who experienced Conte's 2017 disaster window are following the same route for a player who is arguably the pinnacle of a wrong signing for us. Add the fact Tuchel is throwing away a successful formula to shoehorn Lukaku in a system even my dog knows he isn't suited for, begs the question as to why he is doing this.

I never thought differently, and it makes things a little worrying. This whole notion that the club wanted to buy Lukaku without Tuchel's agreement, or that they forced the signing is nonsense. Tuchel said he wanted Lukaku weeks before we even signed him. If Tuchel is this full tilt with buying a player that was so blatantly obvious never going to work, and continue to forcibly play him in a system even my nan knowns he isn't tailored for, it gives me damaged confidence in Tuchel and how he approaches the market.
