FFP had curtailed the spending of others, with Spurs able to take advantage of the market and bring in critical reinforcements like Radu Dragusin and Timo Werner. They had every intention of signing a midfielder, with a last-ditch attempt reportedly planned for Conor Gallagher. Spurs had an interest in the 23-year-old even back in the summer, but there has been indecisiveness from Chelsea and the midfielder.
