Official | Joris Gnagnon returns to Rennes from Sevilla https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2019/official-joris-gnagnon-returns-to-rennes-from-sevilla/ Ligue 1 side Rennes have this morning confirmed the return of central defender Joris Gnagnon from Sevilla with a series of cheeky videos. The 22-year-old was sold by SRFC to the Andalusian side last summer for €13.5m, but failed to insert himself into 1st team contention with Sevilla. Gnagnon is believed to have returned on loan without an option to buy, but this has yet to be confirmed by either club. Nantes, Amiens and Fortuna Dusseldorf had all been after the player this summer. He will wear the #21 shirt.

we must have watched two different Norwich games Chelsea player ratings: Tammy Abraham clinical but Kurt Zouma shaky at the back again https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9790375/chelsea-player-ratings-tammy-abraham-kurt-zouma/ KURT ZOUMA - 6 Could have done better for both Norwich goals – particularly the second one when he failed to track Pukki. Needs to improve as he looks shaky. https://madaboutepl.net/2019/08/abraham-gets-9-chelsea-player-ratings-vs-norwich-city/ Kurt Zouma 6/10 He was troubled regularly, particularly by Pukki, in the first half. However, he imposed himself at the back after the interval and was more decisive. https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/fixtures-results/chelsea-norwich-player-ratings-abraham-16810369 Kurt Zouma So open at the back at times and didn't really enforce himself on the game. Second goal just too easy for Teemu Pukki to get past him. Better in the second half with more control. Looked to cut out the counter more and was more authoritative in the last 45 minutes. 6 https://theprideoflondon.com/2019/08/26/chelsea-tactics-transfers-defence-bond-andreas-christensen-kurt-zouma/ This, though, appears to be the only place Chelsea have an issue. The defending has been too poor. I have not seen a centre-back pairing that lacks a bond as much as Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen in a very long time. All great centre-back pairings are built of silk and steel, and meshed together seamlessly by a relationship. The best Chelsea example is John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho. Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini or Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are other great examples. Zouma is very obviously the steel and is still improving. Christensen, the silk, still looks a little too lightweight at times, but as always possesses truly immense potential. They must take more advantage of Antonio Rudiger’s time out injured to develop a relationship and improve the defence. At the moment, neither seems to have even a cursory knowledge of the other’s behaviour or positioning. Neither of Norwich’s goals would have been scored again an intelligently organised defence. snip (In fairness that last article is more hopeful than I am)

30m euros is a joke, lolol he still ends up at Bayern, I say 90% plus likely

He was really shaky against Norwich too. Until he shows me much more and shows it over the majority of the season, I remain unconvinced. Saying he is better than the ageing bobblehead Luiz is hardly a ringing endorsement. He is also not good enough on the ball for a progressive team like Lampard is trying to meld us into.

Rudiger and AC are our two best CB's by a mile. Azpi is 30 in 2 days, and needs to be benched soon and is only a CB in a back 3. Zouma needs to be sold next summer. Kante turns 30 next season. Zero chance you can build around those 'for years to.come'. Tammy has to do it for a full season too in order for me to think he might be our solid number 9.

Yes, left that out we can but dream if Lamps pulled that off it would be similar to that Leicester EPL title, maybe a wee bit less an upset only shot there would be a ban overturn for January and buy £300m worth of upgrades, none of which is going to happen but I will not give up hoping we can do it!!! I would kill for Chels to be as Shitty is not gonna lie, lolol

they are a machine all they have to prove at this point is the CL (which leads to them walking through the Super Cup and the FIFA World Club Championship) This year is probably their best shot at the CL, as their main threats (other than the biggest one, the dippers) are in a bit of states of unsettlement and congealing as cohesive units Real are a hot mess atm Barca do not have Messi due to injury and it is crazy how important he still is to them Juve, well Sarri, roflaooooo, but even with him, they still have CR7, so anything is possible (this may be his last or 2nd to last great year, even he cannot defeat father time) Bayern, I am still not sold on them, atm they have the talent, that is for sure, but they just seem to lack that swagger they had for decades PSG are eternal bottlers and may lose Neymar then my other two top teams in trms of the CL seeding: Atletico Madrid could cause them problems and obviously Victimpool I would be shocked if one of those 8 were not CL champions thsi year, unless Poch truly pulls off the miracle of the century, or Carlo Ancelotti somehow wins his record-breaking 4th CL (and with 3 different teams) and pulls Napoli through near zero percent chance that a team not listed wins, maybe 1 in 2000 odds

Chelsea youth talent’s loan already starting to turn sour
Vesper replied to James's topic in Chelsea Articles
We picked the wrong team to loan him too in the Bundesliga RB Leipzig is loaded at the back 4 and DMF should have sent him to a lesser Bundesliga squad I think I mentioned that when he was first loaned -
I agree, especially as they bought nothing this summer, and they are deffo light up front after the 3 superstar starters
-
I wonder if Lamps would have taken him on loan if we did not have the bans (or even tried to buy him)
-
1 2 GREAT free kick by Harry Wilson
-
so jelly of Shitty with Sterling
-
lol, the crowd is chanting fuck VAR again every game so far they do that
-
and so much for that, lol, nil 2
-
it should be 1 1 they missed a sitter due to a last minute block

I like Barkley, but he is down the pecking order for me I think he is a great change-up option glad he is on the team Lamps can get the best out of him would take him at winger over the dreadful Willian any day of the week Barkley came very cheap too, was a good buy, especial for an English HG Willian and Higs and Drinkwater are the posterboys for our cocked up transfer/sales policies Bakayoko was just a decent buy that did not pan out, zero stick from me that, BUT I am pissed Marina blocked his loan move to Monaco
-
I do not think the dippers will top Shitty just cannot see it stranger things have happened though

nil 1 Aguero
