he and Jude Bellingham (who is going to Dortmund) are the only two teenage CMF's who interest me
-
happy 17th birthday to the young lad looks 98% likely he is Dortmund bound
-
grab Ryan Gravenberch!!!!! my nightmare is he ends up at Shitty or Manure or Victimpool
-
he is very short and wants at least £2 to 2.5m a year in salary turned down £1.3m per year offer from Manure AMF zero goals, zero assists in around 500 topflight minutes

The best ball playing WC CB out there is Marquinhos, and he also can play DMF so we can deffo unload Jorginho or Kante to help defray cost. It is just a matter of how much PSG would want for him. Straight swap of Kante would work for me. Kante would so go for it (it is his home country and PSG covet him) Maquinhos is only 26 (just turned last month) too, so lots of prime years left, 5 or 6.

not acceptable!!!! it has to be around half that size or so fucking joke kit because of this, the kit itself is fine

lets look at ex WC level (truly WC) CB's who have declined (I do not think anyone can argue that they have declined now) and their ages as of now injuries start to really pile up once a CB (almost all of them ) goes over 32yo of age I start out with some exceptions, who performed to WC level well into their 30's Thiago Silva 35now, he declined a lot this year, and to a point last year, so 33yo was his last great year Giorgio Chiellini 35 now, injuries started to nag him after the 2014-15 season (so when he was 30yo, which was his last fully healthy year), his last dominant year (skill wise) even with the injures was 2 years ago, when he was 32.33yo now the ones who prove my point to a degree Sergio Ramos (just turned 34 so was 33yo most of this season, especially if no COVID-19 delay), who is shadow of what he was, his last great year was two years ago, when he was mostly 31yo Diego Godin, 33-34yo this year, he is in severe decline now, his last great year, like Ramos, was 2 years ago, when he was 31-32yo, although he had a decent year in his last year at Atleti, the season before this one Vincent Kompany (mostly 33yo this season) injures started to fuck him up once he was 29 and 30yo, still was really solid until 2 years (at 31yo, so not like he was some Maldini-like freak) ago, but injuries come with age, and they destroyed his career from 30yo and up Leonardo Bonucci (mostly 32yo this season) is in decline now from the massive heights he once was at, but still a very solid player, just not WC anymore IMHO, maybe barely Gerard Piqué (32-33yo this season) clearly in decline now, still is capable of a great, WC game every now and then, but certainly not with regularity, he has been burnt a lot this year, his pace is shot for the most part Jan Vertonghen (mostly 32yo this season) is in clear decline (and he is one who some might say was never truly WC, although I think he was a very, very good CB for years) there are ZERO WC CB's who are now 32yo as I type this (Otamendi and Sokratis are the highest rated in terms of value, to show the huge drop off) as for ones who are now 31 years old now as I type this Toby Alderweireld (and was mostly 30yo this season) is he WC now? Was he ever? Maybe, but I cannot see him as being so this next season when he is 31-32yo Mats Hummels (30-31yo this season) a great example of a decline once he hit 30yo, and some would say before Jérôme Boateng (mostly 31yo this season, was 30 for the first month) He is an even better example of a post 30yo decline, he was arguably (many will disagree) the best CB in the world a few years back, or certainly in the top 5, now he is shadow of what he was when he was 26, 27 or so. I will say that playing with Alaba has helped him a lot, due to Alaba's pace making up for his lack of that. ZERO WC CB's who are 30yo as I type this (Chris Smalling and Lovren are the 2 with the highest value, to show you how poor the quality is there) finally, a sleeper Yunis Abdelhamid (31 and 32yo this season) He did have a world class year, but it is not like he was deep into his 30's and will he repeat it? IF he was 5 or 6 years younger or so, and coming off such a season like he just had I would be bouncing up and down to buy him, especially as he is a left-footer so yes, CB's age a wee bit better than fullbacks and DMF's (especially those two positions) and AMF's and most wingers, but once they hit post 32yo or so almost all decline immensely, the exceptions are very rare indeed
-
my main issue with him is that he is too short (1.79m to 1.80m) if he was 6 to 8 cms taller, then I would have been all in for years height matters in the EPL for CB's a lot more than other leagues it is one of Zouma's biggest strengths (along his literal strength as well) Zouma was a beast in the 2nd half yesterday, he showed unreal stamina, so I can see why Lampard gets how he is about our CB's, but Zouma is just SO poor on the ball IF he had just half of Luiz's on-the-ball and passing ability (and zero of Luiz's mind meltdowns) he would be worth £80m AC was great the game before Rudiger was really good in both games Tomori is the one who has had the fewest good games TBH, but he also has the highest potential Alaba is the same height as Ake, but he is far better at positioning and also has better pace (although Ake is far from slow) plus he has shown he is far stronger than he looks

well, let us all hope the reverse is true we score 3
-
as he is a striker, I could see him with 3 more good to great years (max), but they will never sell for a fair price, and he so doesn't fit our business model after the next 3 seasons, he will turn 33 in the middle of the one after those, and will be near well spent (he may be the season before that, in terms of WC play)
-
an utterly amazing truth that so many forget
-
fair enough, and I was so so against Torres (in my defence, lolol) so that makes up for Baka I saw Baka's athleticism as being tailor-made for the EPL, and failed to truly see his utter lack of footballing skills outside of that going back a long ways, I was, however, dead wrong on Sheva, as I thought he had at least 3 great years left, plus I let personal love for the guy as a player at AC Milan get in the way of my cognitive thinking I was, however only 13 years old then too, so there was that as well, lololol, and had not fully come to my hard stance on over 30yo player decline (plus strikers and GKers are the two main exception positions to that in many cases)
-
the only players they have who are under 30yo during this coming season who remotely interest me would be GK Marc-André ter Stegen top five GK CB Clément Lenglet (only because he is left footed, but there are multiple other left-footed CB's I would take over him in a heartbeat) RB Sergi Roberto (and he turns 29 in 7 or so months, so is hardly a long term solution) CMF/DH DMF Frenkie de Jong by FAR the one I would grab off that team (along with ter Stegen), he is a superstar already LW Ansu Fati (we are loaded at LW, so no need anyway) and a RB, Emerson, out on Loan at Real Betis that is literally it Antoine Griezmann turns 30yo in around 8 months or so Dembele and Coutinho are on the chopping block take the ageing Roberto off that list (I do not even know if Barca will keep Emerson to replace him down the road, as I do not rate Semedo that highly) and you are down to three outfield players and a GK (and Fati, for all his immense promise, is hardly a proven player at 17 years of age) for the amount of cash they have spent, it is madness they are down to that

Alonso was renewed under Sarri, not Conte, so no 3-4-3 or 3-5-2. It was a blunder, but far from the worst. The turn down of £45m was bigger, but as the board has seen for ages, I have not been on Alonso's arse for ages. He has played far better for months, after sweating the Sarri out of him. Sarri was a shit manager. Most of the players regressed or stagnated under him IMHO. I think this 'he revolutionised Kante' claptrap is 100% tosh myself. As for Eden, Real was talking about £180-190m for Hazard back then and Marina or whoever was saying 200-210m. I also did admit the mitigating factors (CL qualifying and EL win, but like I said, who knows what £180-190m cash would have brought us.) I am NOT going back over the long ago proven £65m offer from Barca for Willian, and zero chance Willian would have turned it down. The FUD posts that persist over this only serve to make their progenitors look obstinate at this point. I already said Morata was mitigated due to the stupidity of Atleti, and Bakayoko as my only cock-up in terms of being happy with a signing who turned out to be shit, which is a damn good record and far better than the board itself. Many people never even admit to being wrong once. There have been other players I was wrong on too, but none that recently. All in all a disastrous period of time for the board. I will never admit to otherwise. If not for the academy and the stupidity of Atleti (Costa and Morata) we would be FUCKED.

I wanna smash those cunts so bad no way can we lose to them FOUR times in one season arrrrf
-
he was the first teenager in top flight major league European history to score 20 goals as a MFer last season all came as a MFer in the past 2 seasons 36 goals, 16 assists 7 of the goals as a CF, 1 of the 16 assists and he still has at least 2 games left, probably 4 or more (they beat Rangers 1 3 at Ibrox in the first leg)

29 minutes in completed passes Shitty 233 NUFC 15

it is blasphemy to put Barks and Kai in the same sentence in terms of Barks remotely being a reason to not buy Havertz we need to sell Barkley whilst the selling is good he has zero league goals so far this season, btw
