Plus he hardly did wonders with the team this season. If stuck with same lot be more of the same without Hazard this time.

Isn't keeping Sarri during a potential ban more of a risk? We have 41~ players out on loan and he's already said only two or three are ready.
That in itself is a cause for concern.

Chelsea players threaten to quit if Maurizio Sarri remains in charge
https://metro.co.uk/2019/05/21/chelsea-players-threaten-quit-maurizio-sarri-remains-charge-9631331/
Senior Chelsea players will look to leave the club this summer if Maurizio Sarri remains in charge, according to reports. Sarri’s future at Stamford Bridge is up in the air, as Chelsea prepare to take on Arsenal in the Europa League final. The Italian is very unpopular among a section of Chelsea fans and has faced criticism for his style of play in his first season in London. The Evening Standard claim no decision has been taken about Sarri after he led the club to a third-place finish in the Premier League.
Juventus reportedly want to bring Sarri in to replace Massimiliano Allegri, who announced his exit from the club after five years as their head coach. While Chelsea weigh up their options, it is understood they could face a player exodus if they keep Sarri on, with some senior players prepared to leave if their current manager remains in place. Chelsea are facing a transfer ban this summer and the result of their efforts to have that ban frozen is expected to play a big part in the future of Sarri.

Never a problem with this guy. Always did his best when he got the chance to. Good professional who knew his worth and aimed to enlarge it without moaning.
Good luck Vic!

Him and Hazard both backed off Real Madrid with displays against Barcelona, I think. I mean, they are still great players, but they just cost too much for playing like that in two big-stage games. Can't see why would Real go for Hazard and not Dybala, and for Courtois instead of Oblak, considering their performances and how much they would cost.

You're forgetting to mention Palace, Watford as of late. I'm losing track of his supposed record at this point, as he's far from the keeper that came back from Spain.
There's no point in discussing who's better or worse at aspects of the game at this point but the bottom line is, we need a new GK in the summer. -

Yup, weirdly I think he doesn't get the credit for the level he has worked himself up to defensively. You rarely see him beat and when somebody does he's still got that great athleticism to recover (case in point: the Barcelona game with Alba beating him once or twice and him still clearing or winning the ball); there's really not many RB I would take over him defensively.
Plus, if he played as a RB ideally we wouldn't be relying on his on-ball qualities as much. His value from a tactics-POV would be completely different.

He still hasn't adapted to parking the bus for 90 mins "football". It requires a great deal of concentration. A lot of pressure to ask a young CB to defend for 90 mins against Barcelona and Man City

Another bad performance from Andreas. You could easily say we lost 3/4 our last games because of him.

Most people don't need to make the same mistake four times before they start to learn. It's a patchy time that is hopefully nipped in bud.
Got Barca, Leicester & Tottenham to come

He's made 4 mistakes in our last four games, 3 of which have resulted in goals, whilst the other came off the post. No one here is writing him off but we're allowed to criticise someone that is making the same mistake.

So just pointing out his mistakes means we want him out? Christ!

Wallosh reacted to Jase in 🇩🇰 Andreas Christensen
True but the annoying thing is, his recent mistakes are easily avoidable - was a matter of making the right pass or clearing the ball in defence but he's botched them all.

We're still in two competitions and top 4 is still within reach. Far from a write off Needs to learn when to play it out or smash it up the park

Has that mistake against Barcelona affected him? Almost cost us a goal again against Palace.

1 quality game to every 10 average/poor games. Doesn't weaken us massively and not getting any younger. Like others have said it worries me less united getting Matic rather than Fabinho .
Most gutting part is its seems Sandro isnt coming our way otherwise Matic would have been part of the bargain (unless Juve have no interest in him)

Mixed feelings personally, although he was immense in two and a half seasons, his effectiveness has slowly dwindled. He seems to have never recovered from the Barnes tackle...
He was decent last season but I guess his style is more suitable if we were to have a conservative approach. Him and Kante were solid but we were more of a threat with Cesc in the side.
In many games I felt with him and Kante, we were relying too much on Hazard and Costa alone up top for creativity/goals because both Kante and Matic seemed redundant.
I'm only worried if we don't go for another DM to replace him as we need cover for the amount of games we're playing..
We should go for Fabinho now, him and Bakayako would go together nicely and that would piss off United fans as well..
On a side note, I wouldn't like to be TheWiz right now...

Guys, lets be honest. Ramires is a better player than Matic in almost every aspect of the game. This is the player United is buying for 40m. Lets stop the madness. Matic is no more than an ultra limited player. Thank god Jose is a big fan, since he is probably the only manager in the world that is willing to pay more than 20m for him.

Wallosh reacted to LAM09 in 🇷🇸 Nemanja Matic
Has anyone here watched Matic over the last two seasons?
He's a shadow of the player that joined us and will only be a slight improvement over Felliani. Hardly strengthen them
My biggest worry is having 18 players that can adequately do a job when needed. Hope we're busy in the next week & half.

Rather Utd sign Matic than let's say a Fabinho or Jorginho.

Wallosh reacted to Hybrid Angel in 🇷🇸 Nemanja Matic
Completely disagree. Not sure how much you've watched those two players but I find Nzonzi and Dier to be much better than the Serbian in the offensive aspect. The former has transformed himself into a regista with defensive capabilities in the last few years, and Dier is much more comfortable on the ball than Matic. Defensively, Matic is very overrated. He chases shadows instead of being proactive and trying to read the play.

Wallosh reacted to Hybrid Angel in 🇷🇸 Nemanja Matic
Some are arguing that we're directly strengthening United but you can also look at it a very different way. United were gonna sign a DM anyways and I'm just happy that they didn't get one better than Nemanja and you best believe there are a couple of those on the market; Fabinho, Nzonzi, or Dier would have taken United to the next level. Even Dendoncker would have been a better option.
It still improves the United first XI but at the end of the day United not getting a much better player like those mentioned above is a silver lining.
