  1. WHY MCEACHRAN!?!?!! he didn't look happy about it, and was confused!....He needs to be given a 90 minute game to gain the experience!!! Need to give him more playing time!
  2. Thought it was head when i just saw it :/, looks like he just fell on his shoulder/neck a bit Was worried that this was gonna turn into some game from hell where we lose players to injury for bigger games...
  3. ..........................Cech..................... Chalobah....Luiz..............Alex.....Bertrand ...........Romeu..............McEachran........ ..Clifford...................................Sturridge.. .....................Torres............................... ..............................Lukaku....................... Subs- Turnbull,Ferreira,Meireles,Lamps,Malouda,Drogba,Kalou - Chalobah sould get a game, but would like to see Alex get an appearance and Luiz play a free role and boss it in a game with little pressure on him, so think he'll do alright at Right Back. - Romeu and McEachran creating everything, will be a great watch into what our future holds! - Doubt Clifford will start but would be good to see him get involved in the game and if he doesn't get it going, bring on someone like Flo, - I think Nando should be back on the pitch asap, hes 85% back towards his best and give him an unpressured game to put a few in will shut the boring papers up for now! - Let Lukaku run wild and get a goal in at the bridge! As others mentioned would be good for Didier to get some playing time after his knock, and would be interesting to see him and lukaku on at the same time! Finally, only reason ive picked Kalou in the squad is...he always scores in games like this, if things stay close for too long, he'd be favourite to come on and score a 'trademark kalou goal' inside 85 minutes! Cmon The Chels!
  4. CECH IVANOVIC LUIZ TERRY COLE MEIRELES RAMIRES LAMPS DANNY/NICO MATA LUKAKU edited this line up over and over again before posting but after much thought.... Brana- may not have bosingwas pace to keep up with young but he will judge the quick feet better and get a challenge in properly Luiz- I've heard to many people say he can't start after his defensive error at old trafford last year....BULLSHIT! he's different class and although he needs slight tweaks in defensive positioning with the back up of 2 box to box engines who will keep covering in Meireles and Ramires, the freedom that Luiz can have will work perfectly in both defensive and attacking situations. Meireles & Ramires- If we want too keep up with a quick footed, quick passing, quick moving force of Rooney,Hernandez,Young,Nani,Anderson...we need to play them at their own game with two players who move a lot and are very physical for their size! definitely a better way of lining -up than dropping Mikel in there to do nothing but play pointless passes and give away cheap freekicks all game. Lamps- One simple point...you don't go to Old Trafford and leave out a Leader,Motivator and all round experienced legend of the Premier League. Nico??-- He has impressed me and slotted in well with the 'new' system, he's experienced and hes starting to show a little bit of his old self in the quick change of pace and getting into threatening positions, definitely worth a mention in the line up! Danny- Complete added flair to the XI, huge confidence, not scared to risk losing the ball to take on a man or have an effort on goal...i originally chose Danny Nico Mata as the front three but ill give my reasons why one of Nico/Danny should/could miss out for my choice of Front-Man. Lukaku- Vidic is out, Evra will have enough trouble with Nico/Danny and Smalling will have enough trouble with Ash/Mata... leaving Ferdinand and Jones/Evans...Ferdinand has never dealt well with a 'Drogba' like player who is big and can turn quickly and move at pace...as for Jones if he starts...its young talent v young talent....both are confident and i'd fancy Lukaku to bully him a bit on and off the ball to get himself the upper hand and grab himself a goal...If Evans starts...simple tactic..Lukaku needs to sit on top of him at all times...he cannot deal with physical presence without giving away cheap fouls! ROMELU FOR THE START. This certainly wasn't my first choice of starting XI but ive convinced myself that im talking sense in editing it to this..ill soon find out from your feedback and the game tomorrow if i was right or not! aha!
  5. 1) ..........................Cech.......... Bran...........Luiz.................JT.......Ash .............................Josh....................... ..........Ramires.....................Meireles... ..Sturridge................................Mata.. ............................Nando..................... 2)..........................Cech................ Bos.........Luiz.......................JT......Ash ..................Ramires....Josh........ ...Meireles............Lamps..........Mata ............................Nando.................... 3).........................Cech.................... Bran.........Luiz...................JT.....Ash ............................Rami............ ............Meireles..............Josh......... ............................Mata.................... ...................Lukaku...................... .................................Torres............ Last night i wasnt too happy aout 'deadline day deals' for us, but as mentioned on here we got taught a lesson last year for not having a 'squad' but just an 'XI' Defensive Choice's- Bos,Bran,Bertrand,Luiz,Alex,JT,Cole,Ferreira----PVA to return at end of year, Bruma to return in 2 years (unlikely though) Midfield Choice's- Rami,Josh,Romeu,Lamps,Meireles,Mikel,Essien(when fit)----Benayoun to return (unlikely he will) Attacking Choice's- Drog,Nando,Nico,Kalou,Malouda,Mata,Lukaku,Danny--------Kakuta to return in Jan We all wanted AVB to build a chelsea squad and we cant argue that there are signs of that happening now! we've even got the likes of Davilas,Piazon etc. to return for future squad positions. If we play a game like this in each transfer window...Lukaku,Romeu young talent that should quickly challenge for starting places, Mata the big signing witha bright future but for realistic money, and Meireles an experienced proven midfielder that has learnt the prem game quickly, i would have that over one 40mil signing each time that may not adapt to our squad... Bring on the AVB era. Give him time! and all these people saying about other clubs signing loads of players that will start...they need time to gel as a squad, we have a core already and have brought players to fit the jigsaw and slot in to a squad that knows how to play (even if our opening fixtures didnt show great performances) while Mertesacker etc. take a month or 2 to gel at the scum...we'll have our shape sorted and be fighting with a squad of players that can all battle for first team places! Healthy competition for places will make the older players work harder to keep their place while the young flair get their chance...genuinely excited if all goes to plan...feeling positive today!
  6. Would love someone to tell me the logic behind Yossi Benayoun leaving...oh yeah get rid of our creative player...and realise its too late so we'll buy someone that scousers dont even want. AVB will get the best out of a portugese player but after Yossi's pre season he really should have had a shout in the team! he must have either done something behind the scene or he's a really shit trainer to have been written out of a squad that contains Kalou... Awful deadline day. Meireles PANIC BUY (if that even happens)
  7. Milner leaves England training...what a signing that would be!
  8. If all else fails sign a lanky german and an average korean...poor old wanker gooners.
  9. ........................Cech..................... Bosingwa....brana......JT.....cole ...........ramires............lamps......... Sturridge..............................mata ................lukaku........................... ..............................Torres............. Subs: hilario,David luiz, Josh, romeu, Malouda, anelka, drog Luiz to start if fully fit but reckon he'll be on bench to begin with Up the Chels!
  10. Pretty sure he impressed enough on his debut not to be loaned out! Strong, fast, can beat a man, can outmuscle a 'championship' centre half which is arguably harder than a prem defender!, gets into dangerous positions...and most importantly he has Royal Blue Blood running through his veins...he's a Chelsea boy! And will not only play a big part in our future, but could be a vital scorer this season, I wouldn't write off him scoring double figures if given the playing time!
  11. Would hate this to happen! Football fans live for the big games! Having them week in week out would kill that excitement and importance of a 'big game'. The idea on paper of playing the likes of Barca,Inter,Bayern and United all the time, but wouldn't you miss the PROPER matches like a rainy away day of trademark English football at places like the Britannia, Ewood Park etc. Football is commercial enough nowadays...this would run the tradition of the game and it's oldest clubs and leagues into the ground! We have the Champions League for big European games and that is as far as it should go! Any club deemed 'average' by UEFA or whoever would decide these leagues would result in them crumbling to pieces, any 'big name' players would leave for a 'super league' side and historic and long running clubs will become a no-name side....we hate them but teams like liverpool and spurs would/could be forgotten and depending on how to qualify even we could be left out over a lot of historic European clubs, so counting ourselves in isn't a 100% possibility if this became reality. Had this argument with many fans of many clubs, and it seems 'commercial modern fans' would love it (people who dont appreciate the tradition of the game and just wanna see colourful boots and stopovers week in week out) whereas a more traditional fan who appreciates a big tackle, a rock of a header and someone sticking their laces through the ball rather than dinking it over a keeper. STICK TO TRADITION. FOOTBALL HAS WORKED THUS WAY FOR ENOUGH YEARS, DOESN'T NEED CHANGE. Prem,FA cup, Carling Cup, champions league and world club cup will do for me as our offering of tournaments.
  12. ---------------Hilario--------------- Bos----Brana-------JT------Ash -----------------Josh-------------- ----Ramires-------------Lamps-- Yossi----------------------Mata ------------Fernando------------- not a fan of Bosingwa really but Alex doesn't look to interested so best defence, Would go for Drog on the right of the three usually but i think Yossi is a harder worker and a lot more creative, its pretty much the dream 2 creative players to suit Nando...Yossi from scouse days, Mata from Spain squad, if they cant give him the service noone can. it will probably be Mikel instead of Josh, Anelka and Malouda instead of Yossi and Mata though.. and Lamps (Although in my own words 'is finished in an attacking position'..im sure he can shit up the norwich midfield with a shot or two if mata and co can feed him into some space Romeu and Lukaku debut hopefully but doubt they'll be starters
  13. Any news on whether he gets the no.10 yet?
  14. i mostly check the forum on my blackberry, since the upgrade ive had problems, if i set to my phone to mobile skin my laptop also shows mobile skin, then when i change back to full version on my laptop (as it works well on laptop but not on a phone) once i change back to phone i have to take 5-10 minutes trying to click the change theme button in full version on my phone to change to mobile skin...so aggrivating, i just want Mobile skin for Mobile, full version for my laptop, anything i can do or this just me?
  15. Only ones i remembered off the top of my head were Albert Ferrer as i knew him through a friend of a friend and met him a few times and Serjio Tejera, but as far as i remember Ferrer wasn't a capped international and tejera wasn't first team, so Del Horno (who apart from the spurs and arsenal impact) completely died out at the club, cheers for bringing up the names though, was annoying me so much having a mind blank on them!
  16. I may be completely wrong, but i was thinking to myself yesterday when watching International football i look and support the chelsea players from other nations (as long as there not up against England), before January last year i cannot think of once in my my 17 years of life that i've watched spain and support a chelsea player...we have never been a club for bringing in players from this nation... Fernando, Romeu, Mata, is now the start of what i hope to be, spanish type football being played (e.g. Barcelona passing) This probably wasn't worth a new thread but it has been annoying me all day and i dont want to end up 'wiki' searching it, who was the last spanish player in chelsea blue before the signings of these three men, i am struggling to think back to anyone that wasn't just an 'academy' or 'reserve' player. Lastly, I am personally excited by having this nation of players in...Best International side in the world, Torres and Mata are already playing for them and Romeu is breaking through for them! 'Vamos que el blues'
  17. It was only a Mata of time before he became a blue.
  18. please let that first 45 minutes of the WBA match be a sign that we can't start that lineup! Lampard is finished in the role that hes still playing, he does not have the legs to be the attacking minded midfielder that is expected to cover up ground to get into the 18 yard box on 9/10 attacks! i am one of those you usually criticise Mikel endlessly, however as much as he has his clumsy flaws, hes showing improvement and will give stability if we have creation infront of him and confidence behind him, i would like to see Joshy mentioned more though and if he is tipped as a holding midfielder, id rather him than mikel, although mikels stats shows lots of passes, i believe we would benefit from the accuracy and creativity of josh's ability to pick out a pass and turn quickly..could receive the ball from the defence, turn and ping it into the path of the attacking minded midfielders and strikers, which will change the game completely This quick comment has slowly bit up more and more so ill keep the end brief... - USE BENAYOUN (hes our creative midfielder!) - DO NOT TAKE TORRES OFF (if he is playing as well as he currently is) - DROGBA IS NOT GOD, STOP GETTING SO EXCITED THAT HE WILL COME ON AND SAVE US WITH LOADS OF GOALS (i believed it too but he showed little interest in the game and looked off the pace this weekend) -NAME LUKAKU ON THE BENCH OVER KALOU! (he's a complete blue, loves the club! get that man his bridge debut and watch him celebrate infront of the shed) -Malouda and Anelka....Yes they scored, but dont think they are the answer to our wing problems please! they both made more impact than we expected on saturday but there still not creative players or out and out wingers, way too many mistakes made by them that wouldn't be as easily laughed off if we faced a top 5 team! End of Rant, we should have won the stoke game if penalty shouts went our way. We grinded out a victory (hate to say it but, Man United style) against the baggies, now lets go and play with some class against Norwich! get the new boys involved! Lukaku,Romeu....Mata and Luka...
  19. Get rid of both should be an option lol... when first clicked on this i would have voted keep Kalou, because of age. But Anelka has a year remaining on contract let him see it out, noone will buy him for any serious money at his age, cash in on kalou from a foreign club, Both should go but i'd actually say Kalou after thinking a bit
  20. we dont have any wingers so might aswell play two players that will make an impact until we sign an out and out winger. May be a different way of looking at it but if we're not making anymore signings and playing 4-3-3 we have to think of something better than using Anelka,Malouda and Kalou
  21. This is probably a long shot even mentioning this man as return transfer target.... but we are at the point of a creative player and/or winger....after forgetting about him for a while i watched Bayern v Zurich last night and he was everything we need...still takes on a man, still puts in a perfect cross, still finishes on both feet! Arjen Robben...Why did we let him go!? what a different class player! if we'll pay 30mil for Luka..i'd pay exactly the same for the return of this man!
  22. Pfft.. i've got more clue than anyone who thinks Bosingwa,Mikel,Kalou and Malouda should be involved.... and if any of your disagreement is towards not including Lampard...he is a legend but his legs arent what they used to be, cant be played week in week out when we have Ramires, young josh and someone who works as hard and is as creative as Yossi (proved hes worth a chance in pre season)
