Poor excuse. Arsenal were a couple of points behind Spurs when he was dropped. No manager in their right mind would drop their supposedly best player in such a crucial part of the season that could potentially end up costing the club millions and the option to better players because of him potentially burning out. He was dropped because he unbalanced the team and was outperformed by other players.

I keep hearing injuries are to blame for his mediocrity yet he started almost 30 games last year but Arsenal went own a title winning type run once he was dropped for Ramsey. The fact is during his best season he was playing next to a dominant player in Cesc Fabregas. He elevates his teammates game just like he did for Flamini, Hleb, Song, Diaby etc Apparently he's a central midfielder but he can't play in the pivot because of his inability to defend and limited tactical understanding. Then apparently he's an AM but how many attacking midfielders out there score or assist at such a low rate? Cleverly and Henderson totaled more goals and assists than he did even in his breakthrough season. Sturridge is a better talent than Wilshere. That's a player who's injuries have actually affected his career greatly.

It's amazing how simply being English can elevate ones ability further than it actually is. Creativity: De Bruyne Close control: Wilshere Dribbling/Skills : KDB Stamina/Durability: KDB Goalscoring: KDB Long shots: KDB Tactical flexibility/versatility: KDB De Bruyne is the miles better talent and its not even debateble. KDB is a starter for a Top 10 NT and Top 5 team in the World. Wilshere is struggling to get into Arsenal's team. Arteta, Ramsey, Cazorla have been outperforming him and keeping him out of the team yet he gets more hype than all of them combined.

It looks like he'll be a starter against Hull. I think he and Hazard have played more minutes than any other player this pre-season. Mou seems to rate him extremely high. His workrate and engine is fantastic.

Why are people saying Torres had a bad game? What exactly did he do wrong tonight? He held the ball up, ran the channels well, dribbled past a couple of players, and created a few chances. The only problem with him as usual is he doesn't get himself into goalscoring positions which is freaking annoying. Waiting for the hate brigade to explain how Lukaku outplayed him in 5 minutes. Ba was by far the worst player on the pitch and gets nowhere near the abuse. Anyway Lukaku will be first choice this year. Stop complaining and back the players.

Torres, Moses, JT, MVG, Mata, KDB, Cahill, Hazard and Oscar all had good games. Fantastic goal by Schurrle. I don't think he's a great footballer but he scores goals and that's what he was brought in for. Very good team performance and I was pleased by the way we closed it out. So many options to work with.

Remember when me and a few others spent a whole month telling everyone Schurrle would be a needless signing and KDB would outperform him in any position? That quartet of KDB, Oscar, Mata and Hazard could easily be the best midfield in English history if we continue to surround them with the players to maximize their talents.
