  1. Hope you haven't forgotten about that Spanish striker we have in our team.
  2. Invest 30 mil in a back-up? And don't tell we can rotate as no manager just switches between strikers every few matches. Drogba is 33 yes but don't tell me you don't think he's not good enough to be used as a back up for (at least) one more year with Sturridge as a third option for the striker position next season (possibly 2nd option after next season).
  3. This may sound crazy but why not keep Drogba, save 30 mil euros and use that money on areas that actually need strengthening?
  4. The fact that he almost apologised for the disappointing EL Final had me sold .
  5. The weird thing about Bosingwa is the fact that before the injury, he was a pretty good crosser.. Something just went terribly wrong. And I agree that he deserves a second chance. The 'let's buy VDW' shouts don't even make sense as he is not good enough to be a starter at Chelsea.
  6. He'll get fired before the season ends if he plays that formation and line-up..
  7. True . If he's available for 12 mil, we would be fools for not trying to buy him. But I don't think that price is correct.
  8. Normally I'd ignore such links but Eto'o did say he's thinking about moving to England. Samu still has three years left in him (at least) and he's still an incredible player, I'd love to see him in a Chelsea shirt. There are only two problems, Inter will ask like 30 mil pounds for him and then there's the whole AFCON thing.. But with Eto'o in your team, you'll win the Champions League :dude:.
  9. The official website says it's a three-year deal so no reason to speculate really.
  10. Essien doesn't cut it as a DM for me (anymore). And I guess we disagree on what we need. Mikel fits the description of Moutinho as well and we still ask for a new midfielder(s).. And I don't like the idea of two slowpokes in midfield with no on-the-ball skills. On Lampard, we all know most of Lampard's assists didn't come from great through balls, and that's we need (Fernando especially) if we are going to play attacking, possession football, but from corners, indirect freekicks and quick one-two's.
  11. Moutinho is a good player but he's not the right type. He is someone who keeps the ball ticking in midfield, always available for the pass, hardly loses possession. He's also very energetic though slow and weak. But you need a final ball player next to someone like Moutinho as he is not that type. He can do it every once in a while but it's not his area (like Lampard in this). So that means we would have to put Ramires/Essien on the bench for him and get that final ball player as well (if possession play is going to be our game).. so buying Mouthinho would be a waste of money. Anyway, AVB's appointment is just a matter of time. So now that's out of the way, the main interest goes to which players are coming in and which are going out..
  12. Was hoping you were joking. But yeah, us being linked to so many Porto players is driving me crazy. The only Porto players who are Chelsea material are Falcao and Hulk and we absolutely don't need Falcao. Was hoping for it to be confirmed today but tomorrow is good too.
  13. Wow was very surprised when I read the news.. and I couldn't stop smiling for some reason . Let's hope this ends up in a successtory (he'll need a better squad though).
  14. The reporter said: Anyway, this is indeed very interesting.
  15. What a useless buy this would be..
  16. Haha you still think Henderson is a great player ? And you can add Smalling to that list, he was great.
  17. Great cross by Sturridge. At least England can look forward to having two world-class CBs (most likely) in the future, who are even better with the ball than their current CB duo. And I personally still believe in Sturridge's ability to become a true quality player. This midfield would have made a big difference to the team btw: Rodwell - Muamba - Wilshere McEachran
  18. The (British) Pound was worth more back then. When you put his price in Euros (75 mil), you get something impressive.
  19. Are Valdes, Alves, Pique, Puyol, Abidal, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Villa and Messi moving to Bilbao ? (you're joking right?)
  20. Haha him being incosistent in the past is absolutely normal. He just turned 23, 2 June, not every player can be like R9 or Messi (as in, consistently world-class at a very young age). Cristiano didn't become world-class until he was 23 and look at him now. Or what about Dinho and Zidane? And no I'm not saying Aguero will reach that level with all certainty, though he has all the talent to do so. And his goal-scoring record, see Terry07's post, is highly impressive for someone was 18-22 during that time, mostly playing as a second striker and not even playing for a world-class side. He was absolutely class last season, and that in a poor Atletico side.
  21. They were class when they played there weren't they .
  22. Nope, never plays/played there for Atletico. Kun is as much of a winger as Sturridge, Anelka and Kalou are.
  23. Christian Eriksen And that was indeed a fantastic goal LDN.
