  1. If I'm right, this is the last summer clubs can spend money that comes from outside the club right? If so, they better refresh the squad now as the club is nowhere near making their own money.
  2. Yeah Rodwell is a good player but we don't need him unless we buy him for the DM position but he's a CM so no. Money better spent elsewhere.
  3. Hmm let's hope Petr doesn't get injured then.
  4. Haha fair enough. 4-3-3 isn't really England's formation though.
  5. True. England's next generation doesn't look very impressive. Then again, Rodwell - Wilshere would make a huge difference in midfield for England
  6. What do you exactly mean when you say overrated? After joining Wolfsburg as a young player from the Czech league, so ignoring his first season, he went on and scored 76 goals in 105 games for Wolfsburg (and Wolfsburg were poor in his third and fourth season at the club). Because of that people called him a quality striker.. seems right to me. A poor start to his Man City career doesn't change that. Or is Torres overrated as well?
  7. Rooney's not a number 9 though, it's his job to get involved in build-up play. He's Utd's spark. And Drogba does it, that's true. But then again, it's something that's part of your game/inside of you and not something you can just do. The likes of Trezeguet, Inzaghi, Ronaldo etc. hardly played a part in build-up play as well.
  8. You can forget about that, Torres has always been like that. But since he scored a lot of goals, nobody cared/noticed it.
  9. Exactly. Lampard can't go through the final years of his career as a crap (crap as in compared to his usual high level) player for both Chelsea and England. I wish he would retire (English NT) so he can focus on his Chelsea career and use the international breaks to rest.
  10. I think he's good in a central role as well but not great. Remember how before this season he wasn't a regular starter and the likes of Diaby and Denilson played more than him in the centre. He loves to dribble, and he's absolutely great at it, and is very imaginitive in his dribbling and on the sides you get the space and time to use that to great effect. Add the fact that he enjoyed the best period in his career in the first half of last season when playing on the right, he was almost unstoppable. So I wouldn't call him wasted on the sides at all (and when I say at his best on the sides, I don't mean like Valencia but a free role from the sides) He's kind of comparable to Ronaldinho (or Robert Pires), who had all the qualities you need to play through the middle but was undoubtly at his absolute best from that left side he made his own. But that's just what I think though .
  11. Don't think he can cut it as a playmaker (to become a great one, though he can become a great final ball player like Ozil). I think he's at his best on the sides. That said, he would be a good buy but don't see it happening. I think he just wants more money and doesn't really want to leave Arsenal
  12. Same here (though I think Zola's number should remain retired). It's weird that with all the money Chelsea has since Abramovich bought the club, no player close to Zola's talent and quality has joined the club.
  13. Yeah he probably is when it comes to playing through balls.. That doesn't say much though .
  14. It depends on the manager really. If the new manager wants to play a style that revolves around short passing, then buying a great playmaker is a must.
  15. Passing is not Pastore's strongest point, his dribbling, technique and fantasy are his strongest points. He's a good passer but nothing special. You never know how he'll develop in that area though.
  16. The level of the club has nothing with how great their passing game should be. Man Utd are the PL champions and reached the final of the CL.. their passing game isn't even better than Chelsea's. But don't get me wrong, I want the same thing as you. I've been hoping for great playmakers/passers to join Chelsea for years, they are my favorite type of players, but every year it just doesn't happen. Deco came the closest.. but he was past his prime.
  17. Depressing? Nah, Spain have the best passers in the game. It's only logical their passing game is on a whole other level.
  18. Torres has 0 confidence in front of goal. What's wrong with him  ..
  19. Silva is playing really well and has two assists on his name already.
