  1. Spanish teams play a slower game, keep the playing field short and let the ball do the work, not all teams but most, meaning players have to cover shorter distances and don't have to run/sprint as much compared to the PL, which of course is far less tiring. And with a more hectic schedule, there's less time to recover (Chelsea v QPR). And that's what I meant with that part.I don't know when he'll be back but I think soon.
  2. As a PL team, we need tenacity and mobility unlike Spanish and Italian teams. And with Mikel as a DM, we're in need of it even more. Besides, it's a bonus with Cabaye. He has the passing, vision, intelligence, good technique and also very important, he's a good defender for a CM.
  3. Not at all but he's pretty strong, energetic and more importantly, he's aggressive and he's a fighter. We've been bullied far too often this season.
  4. It's sad even Chelsea fans make fun of him. I don't exactly rate him (him hardly playing doesn't help) but he is a Chelsea player.
  5. I've heard very good things about him but we'd become too light-weight. I'd prefer us going for Cabaye, who would be a excellent buy imo.
  6. I remember watching that episode. That was so funny and sad at the same time.Hope Demba gets to start in the next game starts of his Chelsea career with Bang (see what I did there).
  7. Hard to disagree when you put it like that. But with Torres, Lukaku and Ba all under contract, I'd prefer a different type of striker. It's all a bit too similar for me. Even though I do rate Higuain. But I do agree that he tends to go missing in big games though, his only major flaw.
  8. Good signing. It will be interesting to see how he does here. Yes he's been playing in the PL for a while now but WHU and Newcastle are allowed a lot more space and there's far less pressure to perform. But I do think he'll do well. My only question, is he good enough to be the main striker at a elite club? Let's wait and see. At least we don't have to rely on Torres anymore.
  9. That's what's been annoying me the most. When you look at big spenders over the last 3 years, I'm sure we're among the top 4. Yet look at the current squad. And we're still in need of some serious quality injections in certain positions like you mentioned which is gonna cost a lot of money. It would be a different case if the club cut down the spending but this is just awful.
  10. Didn't even realise that fact. Depressing.
  11. I do like the fact he's taking risks though
  12. The manager is taking a huge risk. Especially since there's no Cech in goal to save us.
  13. Patrice Evra is a LIAR! Suarez was tricked. Evra and Suarez were talking about crisps and Luis said he didn't like doritos. Liverpool would've won the title if it wasn Suarez's suspension. It's a conspiracy!
  14. Ahh I misunderstood you then. And I agree with you on the press conferences, they don't mean a thing.
  15. Didn't know Chelsea had a Romanian player under contract. Posts on TalkChelsea as well. You don't know Sturridge and you're not part of the team or staff. Why make silly assumptions?
  16. Hope you're right. Even if he does a decent job throughout, I hope he still leaves. A decent player making that much money can't be good for 'the dressing room' and contract negotiations.
  17. You really think Torres will be gone in the summer? As much as I would like for it to happen, I think we're stuck with him. The club doesn't seem eager to just let him leave. As for Lukaku, I don't think the club cares much about whether he'll make it here or not.
  18. Hope Superman won't be out for too long. Always feel very assured with him in goal and I'm sure it's the same for the defenders and the rest of the team.
  19. Fair enough, I'll agree with that. The past years really have shown how much he relied on his pace. Hasn't managed to reInvent his game at all.
  20. But that's because I pretty much never expect to control the ball perfectly with his first touch. You know this every time he steps on the pitch. He used to have his pace to camouflage his average touch. Players like Van Persie and Berbatov would've burried that. And rememeber, I didn't say there was nothing Torres could do about it but it really was a excellent challenge. Not many defenders have the guts to go in like that inside the penalty area. If he was a second too late, it would have been a penalty. What does slightly annoy me though is the fact that Torres is expected to score any clear cut chance/opportunity he gets. Impossible of course. That's why Torres and Chelsea will never work. And no I'm not implying Torres failing here is not his own fault.
  21. Tbf to Torres in this case, that really was a excellent tackle from Distin.
  22. Fast, sharp, very strong, great in the air, more than decent touch, scores goals. Scores goals against top teams and even has knack of scoring some stunners.. It's not like there's talk about signing him for 30 mil. For the reported fee, he'd make a excellent signing despite his dodgy knee.
  23. Buying him would equal 3 homegrown players in our squad.
  24. Why did Gary decide to mark Jelavic who was already marked by Bran? Azpi was never gonna beat Anichebe in the air.
