  1. Hate to say this but as someone who used to really look forward to the cup final it's become really meh when your team is not involved. The BBC are going overkill on the build up but that's because it's one of the few sporting events they still cover. I don't know any City or Watford fans so no one to take the piss out of or commiserate with.
  2. Totally agree we could go a season without buying a single player and still qualify for the champions league. The Premier League take out the top two is piss poor and it's a four team race to get two positions. Ole and Emery are under pressure and could quite easily be gone by Christmas Spurs lost countless games last season. Two final points we've been atrocious in the transfer market for the last couple of seasons so maybe not buying anyone might be a blessing in disguise. And some people have not quite grasped the days of us spending shitloads of money on players is over learn to live with it.
  3. Liverpool fans are utter twats but you can't blame them for this. ESPN is a television station and this is just someone who's bored and got to much time on their hands. It's such a ridiculous, meaningless point I don't even know if you call it a stat.
  4. Oh the irony. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea/new-england-revolution-vs-chelsea-ruben-loftus-cheek-friendly-will-not-harm-europa-league-final-a4142971.html
  5. Does anyone know exactly when this game was arranged presumably after we got knocked out of the fa cup. Seeing as we've been in the last two cup finals surely to god it wasn't earlier in the season. Good intentions are fine but ultimately this game was a half arsed pa exercise that the fans and the manager were against can't imagine the players were overjoyed either Ruben must be fucking fuming and who could blame him.
  6. Got up this morning I'd completely forgot about this non event went to the BBC website banner headline RLC could miss final can anyone honestly say they're surprised ?. Football fans always fear the worst and our best player recently gets crocked it could only happen at Chelsea. Kante, Rudi and RLC to be replaced by Christensen, Barkley and bloody Kovacic I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
  7. Think you might have misheard it's 16 years. Horrible club Leeds I've always hated them especially their fans who were stupid enough to smash up our scoreboard in 1984. The SPG were sent in who were like the police's version of the SAS they battered the bejesus out of the Leeds fans it was brilliant especially as we were on the pitch celebrating promotion.
  8. Interesting fact about the Champions League Final the two teams playing have gone a combined 87 years without winning their domestic league.
  9. Team should be Green, Alonso, Barkley, Higuain, Pedro, Kovacic, and the final five names above and keep them on for the ninety minutes
  10. That was my point what ifs are meaningless. If that Arsenal geezer hadn't missed that penalty against the Yids they would have finished above them he did so they didn't.
  11. I've never seen a post so full of what ifs. That has to be the most meaningless stat of all time we hit the woodwork 24 times whoopie shit.
  12. I've got family and lifelong Spurs mates and there's a bit of me that would be happy for them. But the vast majority of their fans are twats and I've had so many bad memories of Spurs games admittedly as a younger man I mean what was it 17 years we went unbeaten against them in the league. I hate Liverpool with a passion if they win I can to a certain extent avoid the coverage it's a bit different going into your local pub for the next God knows how many years listening to pissed up yids going on about it. They've won one trophy in 15 years or something FB please not their second the Champions League it just isn't right.
  13. Even the most pessimistic Chelsea fans and I think we all were then thought our name was on the cup after that decision. If I remember rightly it was a proper bus parking performance by Leicester that night and seeing O'Neill incandescent with rage after the game made it even sweeter Think that thundercunt Savage was playing for them as well they were a slightly refined Wimbledon back then Leicester horrible pricks to a man.
  14. Today was a dreadful game that was to be expected but I hope next week's idiotic friendly is played at an even slower pace. The injuries are mounting up and it's sods law someone will get hurt. It beggars belief who arranged this stupid match was it an oversight or sheer bloody incompetence I suspect the latter.
  15. First time I went to Filbert Street had to get up at five it was a 11.30 kick off on the 2nd January it was a bank holiday for some reason. It was bloody freezing and we lost 3-0 Gary Lineker scored for them those were the days
  16. Why are there no scousers called Sir ? because they would never accept a title
  17. The sort of singer if you were in Butlins in the 70's 80's a real medallion man like John Travolta's seedy uncle with a scrapeover haircut '' Here he is back by popular demand put your hands together for Alan Crespo''
  18. It's apt you mentioned Madame Tussauds FB because some of the people we get in the stands these days are very similar to waxworks no movement just staring into space a bit like Kovacic last night.
  19. I think the winner of unintended homoerotic post of the year has been won !
  20. One of the problems regarding atmosphere is the age of our support. Chelsea have the oldest support in the Premier League not sure what the average age is exactly but you only have to look round to see a lot of geezers like me in their 50's. So pre-match a 50 year old travels to the game has a few pints and something to eat believe me you want to sit down ha ha. We missed out on a whole generation of fans in the 80's because of our reputation plus we were shit and expensive to get in. So my generation and our kids still go but young kids and teenagers in the 80's and remember you could still pay on the day would go unfortunately to Arsenal and Spurs and some to QPR. It's weird because the best atmosphere for me was in the 90's when first the Shed was getting built and then when the West Stand was uncovered. Soon as the roof on the West Stand was covered the atmosphere went a bit downhill plus we went unbeaten at home for ages so it was almost a case of we don't have to get behind the team we're going to win anyway.
  21. do we have more than 6000 loud away supporters anyway? no one wants to go to Baku. OUr fans got drowned out by eintracht support today it was shameful. In the end fans do not matter much. All foreign teams coming to England always outsing the opposition it's the same at City, United, Arsenal and definitely Liverpool where there's only a good atmosphere for the really big games. This was Eintrachts biggest game in years a real occasion for them, In 95 we went to Bruges which was our biggest game in years thousands of us went most without tickets and completely swamped the place. 25 years on a Europa League semi final without trying to be smug is not a massive deal for Chelsea. To say fans don't matter is pretty insulting to be honest football clubs are fuck all without the fans the clubs know it that's why we get ripped off all the time. If you saw the Croatia - England game that was played behind closed doors then you'd have seen how important fans are. There was a phone in on the BBC yesterday why do men cry at football but don't when a family member dies no question men hide their emotions but cry like babies when it comes to football. I was very close a few times myself Wembley 97, Bolton 2005 and Munich. Going back to foreign fans the funniest thing I've heard at the Bridge recently was Genk fans singing in English '' Your support is fucking shit'' again it was a massive occasion for them for us it was just a humdrum game.
