  1. Can't see this happening even if it's true. He's an ex-Atletico Madrid player. I doubt he'd move to their biggest rivals.
  2. He's already 21 and is not playing Premier League football. Plus, he hasn't represented England U-21s or other age groups so he's probably not particularly good at present. We already have 3 young centre halves. What will we do with one more guy who may or may not make it at the highest level. Plus he looks like he'll cost around 10 million, which is not worth the risk. If we really have to buy a young English centre half, I'd rather see us go for someone like a John Stones.
  3. He has to do what he feels is best for him and his family. If that means moving to a rival in the same city, so be it. No matter who he decides to play for, it doesn't lessen his contribution to Chelsea in any way.
  4. Seems more like one of those random rumours floating around. Since United have a defensive crisis, they're going to be linked with a fair bit of defenders. What interests me in that article is potential interest from Barcelona. They need a good central defender and if they buy him, they'll probably sell Pique.
  5. I agree. And we're covered at LB right now with Filipe Luis. Clyne would mostly move to a team where he'll be first-choice.
  6. If they stay fit, they both have a very good chance. And it would be awesome to see both of them at their best. The other teams would be quaking in their boots.
  7. We're done with all the internationals right? Feels like ages since the last league game.
  8. Isn't there some ban on Barcelona transfers right now? Would he even be able to move?
  9. The next game feels like it's ages away. The only thing I'm happy about is that some of our guys will get a good rest and be raring to go. Unfortunately, most of our team is going to be away. Fingers crossed that no one comes back in bad shape.
  10. If Southampton stay near the top in January, I can realistically see them finishing in the top 4. Good, well-organised team, and getting the results. Right now, all the usual suspects are looking very shaky.
  11. Not likely to happen. Sterling is Liverpool's brightest star right now. If they fail to make the CL for the next 1-2 yeras, they'll want to cash in on him.
  12. Awesome perfomance from Azpi yesterday. He was solid defensively and that run for the second goal was amazing. He's not one of those marauding fullbacks but when he does go forward, he mostly makes it count.
  13. I love his look of innocence after that first push. It's like 'what did I do?' Seriously though, this guy is supremely good at the dark arts of football. No wonder all the teams in Spain hated him when he played there. I'm glad he plays for Chelsea. Wouldn't want him to be on the opposite side against us. The only advice I'd love to give him is to be more careful with his fouling. He could have got sent off yesterday because some of his shoves were worthy of being carded.
  14. If we're looking for a defender who can lead the line and organize his defense, then Pique is not that player. Chelsea deserves better and we can definitely attract the big names. On the other hand, if we can get him cheap, say for around 20 million or so, he's a handy backup to have.
  15. Fabregas moved to Arsenal to get a better shot at playing first-team football. He would not have had that chance at Barcelona because they already had an established midfield. Sometimes young players need to leave big clubs for the sake of their own development. It happens. And then when they have improved they may go back. That's why most teams insert a buy-back clause when a player leaves them. I thought Sterling was one of the better players overall yesterday. He was quick and ran at the defense whenever he go the chance. Kid needs to stay focused on improving his game. He's going to get better as continues to train and play games.
  16. No, it was for a tackle on Johnson just before he came off. He had to change his shirt because Moreno ripped it grabbing him when he did the overhead kick. Either that was some strong pull or we need better quality shirts
  17. Good win for us, coupled with City dropping points. Costa is rested for the international break so he has more time to rest his body. Now we just need to get our right side of midfield sorted out a bit and we'll be perfect.
  18. Side note: How the hell have Atletico Madrid produced such amazing strikers? I would love to see Costa and Aguero playing in the same team one day. They'd totally smash the opposition.
  19. QPR have taken the lead against City. Hope it stays that way
  20. Southampton have scored so we're back to the four-point lead for now.
  21. I think he picked up his fifth yellow for the season so he sits out our next game. Guy was immense today. Hassled the Pool defense and took his chance when he got it. He has this uncanny ability of knowing exactly where the ball is going to be even when it's mishit or gets deflected.
  22. Is it me or do I see Cahill's name twice in the poll
  23. It's not like we're going to win every game by 4 or 5 goals. But lately, we have been having too many nervous moments at the end of games. This Chelsea team is strong enough to win games comfortably. We create lots of chances most of the time. Thank God Costa's finishing is clinical. Yeah they could have had a penalty today. But why should we have to rely on stuf like that? We lost the ball too easily in the last 10 minutes and kept inviting pressure. Didn't need to do that.
