Bosingwa did deliver when Cole was out of the 1st leg at Camp Nou , kept Messi in his pocket all night which extended to an overall top notch defensive performance from the team . Here's hoping .
Doesn't inspire confidence this . On one hand , AVB will inevitably let slip after the match that the bench was full of youngsters , while the real story is he hasn't used an out and out LB to start the game . Valencia to run circles around Bosingwa , I hope this doesn't end in complete disaster ,

Just saw him on the post match interview with Neil on ChelseaTV. Looked composed and confident , spoke about being very thankful for the fans always being on his side from the very beginning even when things weren't going to plan . Also , he walked to the Bridge for the game hah.
Confirmed by the official club twitter a/c: Anelka starts rather than Torres today, Sturridge also returns to starting line up. Mata's first start as well. Meireles to make his debut...
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=oD5j8f450G0 That was quick . Good luck to him , didn't quite go according to plan at Chelsea but was a handy player when needed and played an important cameo in the business end of the double winning season . Won't forget that tricky game against Bolton on a dark sullen night where his head was busted and leaked a pint of blood despite getting wrapped up , MOM that night . Home is where its at Yuri , good luck .
There isn't a lot of preparation going into this game besides the drills tomorrow since the squad has a day off today after last night's run-out in the heat . I fear it'll be much of the same disjointed performances for the most part as we don't have a formation and a cohesive structure , a seamless balance to go with . As it stands , the only outcome of pre-season is getting some much needed fitness in as well as AVB's own motives to analyse the squad in its entirety . Downside is we aren't getting the show we'd like to see .

Villas - Boas : http://www.skysports...7055042,00.html The priority has always been midfield . That being said , I hope he sees there's plenty of work that needs to be done among the forwards that are currently around / would do well with some replenishing .
Sky's Graeme Bailey on his twitter : Some interesting lines coming from Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu trip to London - his first priority is Cesc Fabregas..But he is also finalising Chelsea's move for Oriel Romeu " More from Sky's Pete O'Rouke Reports in Spain suggest Chelsea and Barcelona have agreed a deal for Oriol Romeu.
Our wingers should be doing what PVA did creatively in less than 4 minutes of being on the pitch with that 1-2 run and cutting right in . Can't be creative/productive down the middle , desperately trying to stretch their backline and so far , failing .
