If Eto wasn't even fit for the bench today I doubt he will be fit to start an extremely crucial Champions League game on Tuesday.

You can't really see it on TV, but when you watch Torres In person he has an incredible work rate. He really needs a goal to going the wheels in motion on that front though.

I agree it's hard to pick any time without Eden in it but we can't put all our hope of winning on one player. Maybe at a smaller team where they have a star player critical to their chances on success but at Chelsea (and others) it is a team of stars that have to work together for success.

100%. Not just for the team but the fans as well. The attitude on here has taken a 180 since Wednesday night.

What about someone like El Shaarawy. He can play up front or on the wing...

You can't really question a goal though. Any decision he could, or should have made is irrelevant if he scored. :-)

It came in touches and spells but he's not really match sharp at the moment. More game time at the top level I am sure he will be an important player and we will see more of what he has to offer.

I think, regardless of how many feel about Torres he should be the man to start on Tuesday.

It seems like since Mata left his form took a dip. Maybe he felt his position was secure. After today's performance Willian may just be the man through the middle!

Yep I'd go with the same starting line up as today obviously replacing Salah with Hazard and Matic with Luiz Torres wasn't terrible. He's clearly a man down in the dumps at the moment.

I've chosen Willian for MOTM. Both him and Salah had outstanding games but Willian really shone playing through the middle. I would go with the same line up against PSG on Tuesday obviously with Hazard and Luiz replacing Salah and Matic due to ineligibility.

Yeah I do agree. On paper, we should be winning every game only matched by a couple of other teams in the league. Mentality wise we should be fired up for every game given how close the league is. Maybe the pressure is a factor. And fixture congestion. Maybe they just aren't up for the bread and butter games. Whatever it is. I agree. We should be winning.

You can't really compare though. Mentality would be totally different for Villla playing Chelsea than playing Fulham.

Hazard being rested for Tuesday?

I think we are more likely to get goals with Schurrle on the park in a game like today's. Willians style is more suited to the wing. Schurrles style could be either or. (IMO)

Sometimes we get so stuck in our ways. Oscar hasn't been performing in that role. Schurrle can support Ba when required or switch with Hazard or Salah during plays. Schurrle has mostly played as a winger for us but his position is also as a second striker. Sometimes "the system" just isn't working. Especially against sides that park the bus.

If you watch some of his performances though he is starting to climb to an incredible peak. Cech has reached and passed his.

90% on the poll may be a bit of a knee jerk reaction after a couple of mistakes last night but... As time goes on, more and more I am thinking it is time to pass the torch. Cech will be 32 when the next season starts. He could make a great goal keeping coach. When you listen to him talk about decisions he has made and why he done certain things in a game you can tell he really has a great technical mind and an eye for detail.

He has taken a terrible dip in form this year.

I think he doesn't feel comfortable as "the man". Possibly in the situation in the PSG game if you started Torres, and put Schurrle in the line behind, he could have ran into th CF position as Torres drifts a lot to the wings.
