Judging from our two previous encounters with Real Madrid I believe it's not impossible to go through. After all last year and the year before we were not exactly a monster team in the premier. But I also believe City will dispose of TT and then against City our chances are a little better than infinitessimal. Against Bayern again inifnitessimal. So forget the champions league, it's the same as Canada winning the world cup or something like that. But reaching the semis is an achievement initself. I don't know what will happen next year, more than six players have to go. It does n't mean they are useless. They 're all good for the Italian clubs for example so we can put a price on them.

I only asked how long it took Mou to become top manager (could have google it). I did not compare. Wait for Everton to survive, then tell me about Dyche. Anyway even if Lamps is not up to it, it was n't his fault today.
-
Look: Havertz can't score, Sterling next year,Auba forget it, Joao neither. Further out Kova only tap ins against Turkey, Gallagher shoots at the opponents bums.
-
Everton lost 2-0 to United - should have been 12-0. They are well into relegation trouble. As for Lamps he did gain some experience whether he wanted to or not. Can you tell me how long did it take Mou to become the special one ? I mean before Porto. However Lamps lost to Wolves today as we saw. He did not create a miracle and it would have been a miracle.

It 'll stay a disaster area for some time, there is no escape. And we cannot stage "educational" matches now with amateur teams, it's not July. We have to play against premiership teams. The word "goal" is forgotten of course in Chelsea language. It is also true that this was going to happen this season no matter what. I 'm still against Potter because he did n't manage to fix a single cog, but this team is not functioning.
-
Can Frank Lampard become the permanent manager ? - Lamps has gained experience since he left us two years ago. - Everton's dismal performance cannot be attributed to him, they are a poor side this season. - It's difficult to win the champions league but he may do it. We have n't played a single match yet under Frank Lampard so it's a tall order. But is it impossible ?
-
I believe that 95% of the managers are sacked because of lousy players and only 5% are incompetent (and Potter more likely than not falls in the 5%). What do you do when your players are lousy ? You kick them all out ? Then there will be no match next week and you relegate because you don't have a squad. You buy an entire new squad ? Has to be the transfer window plus dig a treasure from somewhere. So throughout human history the manager pays the price. Therefore with either Enrique or Nagelsman I will be happy, but whoever it is has problems to solve.

Dortmund won it when I was a cub scout.

What they say a lot is that they need them against the Brits. While I 'm sure the Brits will get their act together one day and return, how is that going to work if their national guard is defeated ? Also they could make a contingency plan so just before the national guard is defeated they start giving those guns around to the werewolf partisans - they don't need to sell them in shops.

HOW METACOMMUNISM WILL DESTROY THE WORLD I don't know which way you vote, Trump, Boris, Keir, Orban, Julio Iglesias but here is a simple example of how meracommunism will destroy the world: You can't refute this if you are so inclined. In my town there are three big carpet galleries. One of them belongs to an old schoolmate of mine but that's beside the point. They produce quality stuff. At the same time there are the gypsy people who sell some home made carpets in the flea markets uptown. Those carpets are of poor quality as you might expect, yet they may fit some purposes and also some poor home owners would buy those rather than the expensive ones. What happens ? The two or three big naturally want to destroy the gypsy vendors: What is this ? they should go back to stealing cars. So they push for draconian tax laws to be enacted to drive the gypsy markets out of business. At the same time we have the woke-marxist leninist opposition parties in parliament. What about those ? Well, on paper they hate both. The galleries should become extinct, the open air vendors should also become extinct, so the glorious party controls the economy and turns all the people into mindless robots. Because that's what communism is supposed to be doing. In reality the wokies-marxists are looking at us from their luxury residences in Viareggio, Lake Constance but it does n't matter. So the unholy alliance was born and sooner or later they get all of us. It's "first they came for the gypsies".

Tuchel out of the cup to midgets Freiburg.

Saw only highlights. How can all those chances be missed ?
-
Is it possible Boehly waited till Tuchel went to some other club before sacking Potter ?

I had a brief look at the premiership table. We have conceded 29 goals. At the top Arsenal 27, City 26, Newcastle 19, Spurs 41, United 37. The top two are just a little bit better defensively, Newcastle is a sort of odd man out with their 41-19, the others worse. So with this defense we could be even first in the table. It's true. The problem is upfront. Only 29 as opposed to Arsenal's 70, City's 71. So Chelsea is a team without attack really. From the new players Joao creates some good impressions but only some, Mudryk is so far a 100% failure. Maybe he has a future and we will be praising him later on but so far 100% fail. But the disease is we are a side without attack.

Are you a language defender ? In Italy prime minister ms Meloni is soon to enact a new law prohibiting the English language: https://edition.cnn.com/2023/04/01/europe/italian-government-penalize-english-words-intl/index.html That reminds of Cato the censor, but in Greece George Papadopoulos did a similar trick back in 1967: The words <<hotel>> and <<institut>> were forbidden. Thus <<institut Francais>> had to change its name and <<Pasteur institute>> did likewise. I am in two minds. Recently a friend posted in facebook a list of about 30 Greek words and the equivalent imported words we normaly tend to use, thus insulting the Greek language as he maintained. One example is the lift. We don't say lift, we say "ascensceur" in this case -the French word- but the Greek word is "anelkystir" or "anelkystiras" rather. I did this: Counted the vowel sounds in the foreign words and the vowel sounds in the Greek words. The count was foreign = 80, Greek = 120. So I said to him "here is your explanation - with your words we reach Kalamata before we utter a sentence, with the other ones it's easier". Because he is a mathematician he accepted the explanation as valid. The English language enthusiasts, in Trump country mostly, expresss similar sentiments as those of ms Meloni in Italy, but I hesitate. Speaking of Trump country what about my aunt from Chicago ? She used to speak half and half. Woud they send the carabinieri after her ? What is your opinion ?

The comparison with 2020-21 is unrealistic. We were much much better then, not good enough to win the premier but beat Man. City 3 times out of 4. I agree there is really nothing to look forward to in the current season -our chances against bothr Real and City/Bayern are infinitessimal- but at least we can have a decent manager. Looking back to last August the season started terribly. Fresh from the Abramovitch adventure, Rudiger goes, basically we brought three new defenders Koulibaly-Cucurella-Fofana who did n't shine all that much really and the attack was not stregthened at all (Aube is a Joke, like Pato). So Tuchel finds himself in a corner does n't know what to do and we had some ridiculous results, Zagreb, Leeds and some others. Up to January I don't fancy Tuchel doing any better than Potter did - but he might have won that easy CL group just like Potter did. After January and the new players we brought Potter showed his utter incompetence (Southampton-Fulham-Spurs-Everton-Villa ...). There were the injuries too but one cannot find any justification for him, no sign of any improvement whatsoever. Now all we can do from now till May is to experiment.
-
This team is sick, Potter or no Potter, even after the January transfers. Forget the European opponents we had so far. Dortmund was somehing of an exception and the rest were League 1 teams. I think Potter was useless but all those bad performances they just can't be real. Even we were bribed to give the matches to Villa and Southampton we would say "listen guys, it's too obvious, we can't do it". Something is missing. Speed of movement comes to mind but what else ?

Why you don't like Unai ? We can break his contract.
-
Every manager we know has been sacked from somewhere. Pep from Barecelona for example. The special one from everywhere but he is still hopping around. However my man of the hour is Unai,

Galtier likely to be free as of tomorrow.

At fcucking last.

This is not the time nor the place to debate the relative merits of libs and labs. In Greece the all time democratic government of the people is considered to be the government of George Papandreou, 1963-65. But those of us who are old hands also remember it was the time of Panathinaikos A.O. biggest steals. Goals scored with the hand, referees, the notorious "suitcases" ... The confused people believe that Panathinaikos were the pet team of the military junta of 1967-74 and while this may be so to a certain extent, their biggest scandals were in the early sixties, not the junta period.
