Sporting are a good team. Left themselves exposed but they played well. We missed infinite number of chances, made it dangerous.

We definitely played better in the same match last season. Again the woodwork saved City from more goals, but they failed to score whereas this time they were lucky to make it 1-1. The one point is ok by me but it's not one of the performences we are going to remember.

Fact is they were faster. In the first half Willian was outpaced and he did n't manage one correct pass. So even with ten men they created chances. It was lucky for them though. Nothing for 90 minutes and suddenly billiard-like accuracy.

Last year we played better. The posts saved them a from 3-0 defeat and towards the end they became dangerous. this time luck was on their side and after Diego hit the post, they got their equalizer through Lampard as well ! I think Toure was their best player. Overall not a bad result and certainly not disastrous.

Drogba put up a Torres performence yesterday. I think it's not good for him to get involved in a player capacity any more. Fabergas was unlucky to miss that chance in the first half and also to become the man responsible for Schalke's equalizer. They nicked the ball from him. I have seen countless such. One very typical was in last year's Arsenal v. Dortmund, the 1-2. Arsenal forward was looking for position in the edge of the box to shoot, has the ball nicked from him, counterattack, the Germans score. If the defenders don't play man to man or have eased down it always spells danger. Yesterday we missed 6 open goal chances: Ramirez, Cesc, Drogba (2), Hazard (2). Drogba finished the second of his chances as best as he could, also Hazard the second again of his two chances. The other four misses were horrible.

Cesc tried to scuff that ball. It's better to use the tip of your shoe in that position.

Stupid giveaway.

It was the day god fell asleep in Greece. Olympiakos could n't even hold the ball for the best part of one minute, but they scored three against a horrible Atletico defense. 3-2 in the end. Atletico managed a similar thing 5-6 years ago, lost home and away to Aris Salonika. Atletico had Forlan then.

Schalke put up a certain resistance last year, until the their goalie miskicked the ball. Because of the silly performences against the Swiss before Schalke, there was some danger. I don't fancy them, somewhat better than Galata Saray maybe but we got to be careful. On Sat we scored own goal and for a time it looked like Swansea were going to have a second rather than us equalizing. Swansea collapsed as soon as the second half started but that was their problem. I think we must be careful and avoid costly defensive errors.
