Giroud is mister unlucky. Could have scored twice early on in the game against Cardiff, back in 2016 lost the european cup because the ball wanted to bounce away from the Portuguese goalmouth. But the man eats every blade of grass,

It was 2011. Spurs had Kane, Bale, Modridge in their squad and for PAOK Salpingides - the one who scored the first goal. Also Athanasiadis appeared in the Brazil world cup. In this group PAOK are second best, because Bate and Vidi are weakies. If they finished second in the league (first without the events) it's even better for them than 2011. The 1-4 result against Benfica was too bad but they 're not thorougly useless. Last time Chelsea was in Salonica was 1971, against Aris (1-1 then 5-1 at the Bridge).

4 clubs. Civilians propertties come and go. They did eliminate Spurs some three or four years ago and there were some scenes in the London tube, but I don't think it went overboard.

PAOK are the troublemakers of Greece. Back in the nineties they interrupted a match against Paris Saint Germain when they went 3-0 down. But they did not have a problem with the French, it was their own board of directors they rebelled against. On another occasion they interrupted a match against Olympiakos Piraeus by statring small fires. The time was passing and the match was not resuming so I say to an Olympiakos supporter "you lucky s*ds won again by forfeiture" - because if half an hour passes and the teams do not return to the pitch, the team who started the troubles in punished. The Oly supporter was mad at me because I said this and he started chasing me down the street. But the match was resumed after 29 minutes exactly. PAOK have their origins in Constantinople. But they have created the strange myth of the "Athens state", an imaginary super-state that denies PAOK championships (they have managed two from 1930 when the Greek league started to this day). The truth is that all Greek governments -to the extent that they can- try to egg them on, to gain Macedonian votes in the elections. Because their origin is in Constantinople. when they play against a Turkish team, the Turkish TV hides the "K" and the display on the TV screens reads "PAO". The most viral Greek sports video ever is form 2005 and has a Salonica supporter phoning Santa Claus and complaining because PAOK cannot win a league title:
-
In the picture you have a Chelsea shirt instead of a PAOK shirt. You could have used a Juventus shirt or a Newcastle shirt for PAOK.
-
PAOK lost the league title because of this: This picture shows the president Ivan Savvidis invading the pitch with a gun. The week before that they threw a POS machine at the Olympiakos Piraeus coach Oscar Garcia who was taken to hospital. The one who threw the POS had such a good aim from 25 meters out, that could even match Greek Olympics air pistol winner Anna Korakakis: / With six points forfeited in two consecutive matches the title was lost as was natural and went to AEK Athens. In the champions league preliminaries PAOK eliminated Spartak Moscow but went on to lose to Benfica 5-1 on aggregate.

How many players from the first squad will appear in this match ?
-
Hazard defies Einstein's causality principle when shooting penalties. MOAB rocket from Willian seals it.
-
Good performance. Should have scored earlier.
-
Only 2-1 after 90 minute bombardment.
-
come on. no 1 wc player versus no 15.
-
well done
-
3-2, now ten minutes of park the bus !
-
The defense is appalling. Should have been 2-6.
-
Good beginning of the season.
-
What about Oblak ? The man just can't be beaten from the penalty spot. I think he is Courtois ++ and I also wonder why RM are not happy with Navas.

Lyon was the class of Everton or Southampton. We therefore enjoyed possession and made some fast moves, the way Sarri wants, which looked pretty good. But there was no one up front to score a goal and the defense made some curious mistakes. We were going to score the winning goal in the second half but when Sarri changed nearly half the team the momentum was lost - even though two of the replacements were Eden and Giroud. The only positive is Sarri's attack system. He wants the players to be very fast in deciding what to do with the ball, faster than with Conte system or Mou system. Ideally this breaks defenses and creates goal scoring chances.

We will support the team in the second division too. But City is a team we used to beat home and away so what's the big deal about expecting to beat City ? About the prez it's not only this year with his viza problems but it has to be said we are under political persecution now, just like Latin America with the juntas.

Chelsea are a poor house, especially after Roman's political adventures. I wonder how Real are managing, given that Spain as a country is poorer than the UK. The only tough years for RM transfer wise were during the late sixties-early seventies from what I remember (yet they managed to squeeze a CL even then). For Barca there were some more difficult years, but now they are way ahead. PSG too are now rich. I recall a UEFA cup tie between AEK of Athens and PSG some twelve years ago. They managed to eliminate the weak Greek team, but they were bottom of the French league at the time and the Paris leg was interrupted for several minutes by protesting PSG supporters. At the same time Chelsea under Jose Mourinho were making big advances in Europe. I don't understand why we have become so poor. Is it T-shirts ? Then let's open shops with T-shirts in every town allover the world. They can only make profit ! It's inexcusable. I can understand some teams that reach a certain level and then give up because the budget requirements become too big and they give up because it's beyond them. The Greek Olympiakos Piraeus is the best example of a team that had to give up European dreams. They were progressing but at about the time they met with Chelsea in 2008 for the stage of 16 (3-0, 0-0 the results) it dawned to them that they could keep things going for them domestically but there was n't enough money for European dreams. So last year their best transfer was the aging Miralas from Everton (failed). The same kind of thing is true of some other teams. But not Chelsea !

I 'm afraid some of this "squad" are only good for the Swiss league, Young Boys, Aarau. Or for the Lichtenstein league.
-
It's not about Sarri. It's the squad that is made up of grannies. If you ask Albert Einstein to teach maths to a class of dumpkoffs what would you expect ?
-
Pedro was good for Barca, replaced by Suarez was n't he ? Now he is getting too old.
