To qualify for the CL all we had to do was beat Huddersfield and Newcastle, two teams who seldom pose a threat. I wonder what happened after the Liverpool match, everybody seems bored to play football. We were outplayed by Newcastle, the way Barcelona and Roma could n't do.

Routed by NC, the raspberries, the strawberries and the blueberries ...

Great win. I don't think it will materialize into something but L'pool are the CL finalists. I just think Giroud is on a par with Diego and he is certainly better than Morata-Bats-Falcao-Pato.

Two weeks in hospital, pain-sleeplessness and all the rest of it. Learned the Swansea result from livescore. This is going to be a good match, against Klop - the hero of the year. I hope the scousers will taste defeat, as their normal place in life is of course second string to CFC.

I think he pushes Ronaldo. When the defender kicks the ball to the keeper it's legal but he had already pushed.

All this Hazard talk begins to make sense if we have decided to settle for 4-5 years of mid-table football. We don't need a star and if we sell after 5 years, he is going to be an ageing star. Let's face it. The board have let the side down in a deliberate way. Even in the two premiership seasons 2014-15, 2016-17 we were not good enough imho because we were not a top caliber side in Europe.

We have big problem. Nothing works ... and it was West Ham.
-
We can play for 45 minutes only. Against City too, who strangely did not score many goals against us. Ergometrically speaking who are the players who can't make it ?
-
It's true. We often collapse in the 2nd half. Running off the ball and man to man marking are the things to observe. When missing it's the prelude to collapse.
-
Defenders improve with experience - unlike forwards who shine from the beginning if they are good enough. So let's be hopeful about Christensen and Rudiger. For me Alonso-Moses have had it. Cesc-Azpi-Pedro are getting old. Baka and Morata, well. Drinkwater, Barkley are small fry and Giroud is not the man to answer any problems by the looks of it (looks like a Falcao case). That's a big list.
-
Only if he was out of position can you call it a howler.
-
Erikson's goal was not a Caballero howler, the ball went high and dipped. We did indeed outplay them for 45.5 minutes in the first half and should have been 2-0 up. In the 2nd half we did not turn up. Even before the 2-1 they were the only team in the pitch.
-
Spurs are better alright but they failed again to impress me as a team of the highest caliber. Only City really.
-
I don't know about Courtois. Begovitch was fine and Caballero is a good keeper. With your logic we are going to lose Hazard anyway because he will become 30. Overall transferwise we resemble a club in economic crisis.
-
Before their second we were inviting them to take shots and Caballero performed heroics. Then nobody was covering anyone. We played some football after the 1-3.
-
That's what I said. The season is gone.
-
The season is gone alright. But the rebuild required is huge and it's what worries me. We need a massive injection and another thing that has to be taken into account is that expensive transfers sometimes fail (like Shev back in 2008).
-
Could be that Antonio was overrated after last year's success. But it's a joke to put it down on him or to imagine that someone else can at this stage of the proceedings do anything.
-
Let's face it. We are a middle of the table side. I don't know for how long.
-
It was n't his fault but he had to change the formation. I expected a replay of the first match, with Barca enjoying possession but stifled up front. Then the lucky man was going to win. But we had to play the way we did out of necessity.
-
Conte wanted to attack cautiously but he also went down in the first min ! Their second was a good counter, after Cesc lost the ball I think. Their first was a joke of a goal. Their third was again a good counter -against the run of play- but that too was ridiculous for a keeper of Tibot's (supposed) class. Stiill Barcelona having scored twice in the first half were happy. If they did n't score I guess they could still hit us and score some better goals. We were definitely better in the first game, yesterday you can't say. But there are some sour grapes because this was a tie in which we were ultimately betrayed by silly defensive errors.
-
United, the big spenders, went out unceremoniously to Sevilla. Spurs to la Juve, whom we respect and City we shall see re. Europe. Our worst performance was against Roma, in Rome. But can things be put right ? If the board let the seasons go by then we start with a good but ageing team, we end up with a second division team and we have to buy the world to rebuild.
-
RM look great. City also one has to admit. But we are not useless - given as you say we pulled this one through.
-
We have n't got but quite undeservedly so. We are not Aston Villa. But I stick to the goalie's performance. A match in which Peter Czech became an all time hero, and he performed like a circus clown.
