I was one of those who rightly pointed out we were atrocious defensively up until recently. The recent form is very encouraging and it's given me more confidence in frank as a manager. I don't think he's a feel good stop gap that gives a golden generation of young players a year or so to establish themselves in the team, I think we can legitimately improve and win stuff under him. Defensively played like one of the best again, like he used to. Pressing players, nicking the ball and playing it forward he was good too. His passing in tight spaces is phenomenal. Crazy good. Good partnership with Bats but the real task is to get in the first team and strike that partnership with Tammy. Kante and RLC wouldn't have been able to do what kova and Jorginho did today. There was one point in the 75th minute where they just played it back and forth around the RW who was pressing him. On merit, he doesn't deserve it. Because you have to *compare* him to others. CHO scored against Grimsby, came on and was decent and lively against Brighton and then got an assist against lille (although to be fair the assist was mostly down to Willian's brilliance as opposed to a goal scoring chance created by CHO). Pedro works harder than Pulisic as does Willian. Reading back, everyone's in agreement he doesn't deserve a *start*. However, I think we are all in agreement that he *needs* minutes to improve? You know, 20 minutes at least. He's not getting that. That's problem. Another problem is that he's said Lampard hasn't really spoken to him on what to improve. There's training hard and then there's focusing on improvement. If he doesn't know what he's doing wrong and if he's not being told on what to improve what exactly is he supposed to change in training? Tbf Brighton are playing so deep with 1 striker up front the formation isn't making a difference whichever one we play. Still cut through us like butter 2 or 3 times. All in all in was quite entertaining, probably some of the best football we have played this season up until the final pass/shot. Mount definitely doesn't play as a 3rd cm. He's so close to Tammy.
