His derby had big defensive problems last year and I saw the same in preseason. I think he has a good philosophy for how to play but I don't know if he can coach it successfully. We'll see

I've still got big doubts about Lampard as a manager but his attitude there couldn't be bettered

Our main problem as i see it is that we don't yet move as a team. The front 6 press and the defence don't close the gap. Or the front 6 are so disjointed in the press it's useless. That's hopefully an area we will improve. Our best football in preseason was sitting deep and hit them on the counter attack.

Difference is our defence can be got at with pace. Obviously no Alonso is better but still zouma is probably the only one that will stand toe to toe with them. Of our front 3 only Pulisic has blinding speed (boy does he have speed!) But he is up against probably the fastest rb in the league.

His hands are tied. 5th will actually be decent when you compare us to our rivals. I like the constant reminder to be competitive though. Let's hope Cech is working in the background for a blockbuster summer 2020.
