On merit, he doesn't deserve it. Because you have to *compare* him to others. CHO scored against Grimsby, came on and was decent and lively against Brighton and then got an assist against lille (although to be fair the assist was mostly down to Willian's brilliance as opposed to a goal scoring chance created by CHO). Pedro works harder than Pulisic as does Willian. Reading back, everyone's in agreement he doesn't deserve a *start*. However, I think we are all in agreement that he *needs* minutes to improve? You know, 20 minutes at least. He's not getting that. That's problem. Another problem is that he's said Lampard hasn't really spoken to him on what to improve. There's training hard and then there's focusing on improvement. If he doesn't know what he's doing wrong and if he's not being told on what to improve what exactly is he supposed to change in training? Tbf Brighton are playing so deep with 1 striker up front the formation isn't making a difference whichever one we play. Still cut through us like butter 2 or 3 times. All in all in was quite entertaining, probably some of the best football we have played this season up until the final pass/shot. Mount definitely doesn't play as a 3rd cm. He's so close to Tammy. His derby team last year ranked in the bottom 3 for expected goals IIRC. That is, given the type of situations the opposition got into last season and how often, they were expected to concede the 3 highest number of goals in the championship. Considering how much they actually conceded ( that didn't concede as much as expected) they actually ranked as one of the luckiest teams last season (again, IIRC, the difference between expected goals conceded and actual goals conceded was the largest in the championship, earning them the reputation as the luckiest team on the league). There are differences ofcourse between Chelsea and derby. Kante for one lol. I'd be interested to see how we compare this season in expected goals to other teams in the premier league.
