Finishing third in the league. Quarter finals of the CL. The problem is where we finish in a competition is also relative to the opposition. If Pool, City and United all get 90+ points I wouldn't see it a failure finishing 4th with mid 80 points. That's unlikely but the point is how other teams perform is relevant. If we finish 2nd with the league winner on 78 points, say, I'd be disappointed. Ultimately, there's no point arbitrary choosing a position as the standard for a successful season. Same with CL. We might get a death group and then draw Bayern again in the last 16. If we lose by one goal in a really tight draw that's improvement. I would want more goals scored than last season given the players brought in attack and less goals conceded considering the added defensive players and assistant coach. I think he'll make us better to watch. Far better athlete than even Emerson let alone Alonso. Has better dribbling and passing. I expect our build up on the left is gonna improve massively. His actual crossing seems average, neither great or terrible but playing with Vardy may help Werner. Chilwell would often play long balls into channels for Vardy so thats a way to play the long wall that suits Werner. Just going by those numbers he seems to fit a roaming number 10 pretty well. Hes comparing pretty well considering his team mates dont compare to dortmund, Bayern, City or Barcelona. Hes got good speed, can dribble with the bal however. We agree? I think he's about as good defensively as Alonso but in different ways. Alonso is better when sitting deep. Chilwell is far better at recovering. Apart from that there's not too much disagreement. Chilwell seems to exceed at turning defence into attack buts he's nothing to shout about in the final third. Alonso is the opposite (I think Alonso's crossing is average at best as is his passing in and around the box - its his goal threat where he excels).
