  1. Given that Oscar and Torres are no strangers to big games and understand the Cheslea system well, they still failed to pose any threat what so ever on City. I don't blame them, they hardly got a touch on the ball. Same as Salah he hardly got a touch on the ball. It is quiet simple and clear that we had no saying what so ever in the middfield area. No passes or control from Ramirez or Mikel. The forwards we isolated completely. City overwhelmed the midfield area and hence the control of the match. Schurrle's position is the same as Salah's. He would have still been isolated. Torres's is the same as Eto, still would have been isolated. The only way this would have changed or atleast helped us to creat more chances was the midfield. That was why Hazard was dropping back to get the ball to try to break this isolation.
  2. I respect your opinion. I kind of feel 4-1-2-3 would be more offensively aggressive and we would be able to create a lot of scorring opportunities. Oscar and Willian will be providing alot of assistance to Hazard, Scurrle and Eto offensively.
  3. Torres came in but I hardly call his performance a catalystic one! I think you are misreading the game. We lost our match tactically, not because of an individual player. I doubt if Messi came in any difference would have hapened. Yaya controlled the middfield battle very well. We defended tooooo deep. Hazard had no support from the middfield, neither did Salah or Eto or any other player. You can debate tactics or team freshness but certainly not a performance of a single player or a decision on a single sub. What about the rest of the subs? Did any of those make a "catalystic" change? NOPE.
  4. With all due respect to your opinion, everyone was poor including the star of the team Hazard. That is ok because it happens from time to time. In addition to this City were in a better form and forced their game on to us. If Schurrle was in or not it would have made no difference. I also think the reason Mourinho put Salah in was because he believes Salah was more ready or perhaps more useful at this time.
  5. No doubt he has great potential. I have faith that he will be a great weapon for Chelsea. He wil connect well with Willian, Oscar and Hazard. But all in good time.
  6. Stats on Goal.com shows 0 assists........but plz clarify
  7. I would like to see Terry start. I hope this means Luiz will move into midfield along with Matic.
  8. I think we lost simply because City and Yaya Toure dominated the midfield. Our players were pretty much isolated. Surely some of the players were fatigued but that was not the main reason. I have faith in Mourinho, he is a one cunning fox. He will definitely find a way to bounce back against Everton.
  9. I agree with you mate he needs some work. He was never a playmaker and I guess that is one of the reasons he doesn't have assists. It is definitely an area to work on. Frankly I am not expecting something great out of him this season. I expect some decent performances though. However I am quiet confident by the start of next season he would be more developed and would understand the movements and runs of his teammates. Good criticism though
  10. I agree that he has to improve, however his final ball is not that poor and we have seen than in the UEAFA, Swiss league and World Cup Qualifications. You can't judge on 15 mins playtime against Newcastle or even against City where the entire squad and subs performed terribly. I agree too that Mourinho will have an impact on him and will develop him. I actually think that that was one of the reasons he picked Chelsea over Liverpool. It was obvious that he might get more playtime at Liverpool, but knowing how Egyptians think of Mourinho, he chose Chelsea cause he knows the impact that Mourinho can have on him at such a young age.
  11. Frankly I think Chelsea did not lose cause of Salah, Hazard or any specific member of the squad. Clearly City dominated the midfield battle and they transitioned as a whole unit from defense to attack and vice versa. Unlike us, our defensive midfield had a very bad day stopping the opposition. Yaya Toure was just in control of the midfield and the transition and he did that very well. Chelsea needs to develop the attacking transition. We are great with counter attacks but not with build ups There are alot of things that Salah needs to learn and I think he will be doing this as he mixes more with his squadmates and as he gets time. I know he has no problem with physicality or aggression ( since he has proven that against the Spurs and Chelsea before) but definitely needs to work on his passes and finishing. As the season progresses I see Salah improving a lot and I see him starting next season.
