As for Schurrle, well when you have a squad that wants to win everything and you have players off the bench that you can't even trust to make a difference, then you probably won't win everything. And Mikel is an absolute donkey, but we all knew that.
-
This ref is is a son of a bitch btw
-
Not even a single shot at goal or even on target. very poor. If we don't score by half-time, I don't fancy our chances of winning this game.
-
And what exactly is Schurrle doing in this game? Completely inept.
-
Of course you have a point, but these players are paid for what they do in attack, not for running around like headless chickens and spoiling our attacks.. It's funny how teams like Madrid and Bayern can apparently get away with no "worker bees" in their attacking midfield and still be consistently strong. Or a Man City or Liverpool of last season. I seem to remember some trying to convince us just how VITAL Ramires was to the side, and Mikel before him too. Change Reus with anyone of Oscar or Willian and I can guarantee for sure, we'll be a better side without losing much defensively.

That's for both last season and this season in the premier league. Both were equally average last season. Oscar scored more goals but Willian created more chances. This season, Oscar is outperforming him in every relevant category. That's what we're saying. Most people here hates Willian, or any Chelsea player for that matter. Don't take it personally. http://www.squawka.com/comparison-matrix#premier_league/2013/2014/willian/126/64/7145/0/p|premier_league/2013/2014/oscar/126/64/3129/0/p|premier_league/2014/2015/willian/126/126/7145/0/p|premier_league/2014/2015/oscar/126/126/3129/0/p#attack_score/total_forward_passes/key_passes/chances_created/goals_scored/assists/total_shots/successful_take_ons/successful_take_ons_%#total

It's not even about assists though, because that can be misleading at times as it's dependent on whether other players can take the chance or not . Created chances/key passes is a fairer criteria to measure creative produce, and Willian is equally poor in that category and in all categories required of an attacking player. Goals, assists, created chances, key passes, everything is lacking. And his dribbling ability is exaggerated as he hardly ever beats players, if you watch him closely. It's obvious that Willian is not Chelsea first XI standard and neither is Schurrle. I won't take sides with any player. He's being outperformed by players like Tadic and Downing. Says it all. http://http://www.squawka.com/comparison-matrix#premier_league/2014/2015/willian/126/126/7145/0/p|premier_league/2014/2015/dusan_tadic/126/126/7763/0/p|premier_league/2014/2015/alexis_sánchez/126/126/1581/0/p|premier_league/2014/2015/stewart_downing/126/126/78/49/p|premier_league/2014/2015/oscar/126/126/3129/0/p#attack_score/total_forward_passes/key_passes/chances_created/assists/goals_scored/successful_take_ons/successful_take_ons_%#total

Yes, brilliant performance from Cesc. He's now added tenacity to his play in that pivot role. Matic must be a dream to play next to.
-
He's playing much better than Oscar in this game though.
-
Yes, we're secure in that position with Costa for quite a long while and it's not a position we rotate a lot. Lacazette just made it 18 for the season btw. Unreal.
-
Currently the most in-form striker in Europe right now and the 2nd highest scorer in Europe this season. Already 17 (!) goals scored this season and has built on his impressive showings last season. Definitely one too watch.
-
Liverpool fans celebrating a point at Klanfield like they've just won the Champions League. Pathetic! Arsenal deserved feck all as well. Hopeless team.
-
Arsenal almost as reliable as Tottenham, lol.
-
Was Sanchez even on the pitch?
-
Really epitomizes everything wrong with Rodger's Liverpool. Brilliant build-up play and possession football, ridiculous set-piece goal conceded.
-
Two of the most detestable clubs facing off against each other. Yuck.
-
Riots in coming in Newcastle, lol!
-
Looking at the table, we actually play 8 of the current top 10 at home in the 2nd half of the season. (City, United, Everton, Spurs, West Ham, Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham) with Liverpool at home as well who are currently 11th. That's a big advantage for us.

I'm surprised the Guardian had anything that could be interpreted as being even remotely positive about our club considering how virulently anti-Chelsea they always are. Pictures of the old Stamford Bridge filled to the brim with CFC fans further illustrate how hopelessly addled the thought process of the typical Chelsea hating Kopite is. They're very quick to forget we won a European trophy before them and that "history" is not restricted to a certain period in a club's existence. Reading through the article, they're at it again talking shit about Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea. Sad bunch. Weird even. As for the actual article, the Old Stamford Bridge (I can only speak of 1997-2003 period, so not so far back) is in some ways, believe it or not, better than it is now and not just for nostalgic reasons. I remember going to see us crush Everton 3-0 with a brace from Jimmy, 2001, think it was. The atmosphere was electric from every corner/stand. And it generally was in those days, even in games when we expected to win. Nowadays, they're only up for it in the big Champions league games, as it was when I went for the 3-2 win over Liverpool, under Grant. Even the big London derbies are pretty tepid affairs, noise wise. Obviously it's not just us, it's the whole country. And it's a problem that sooner or later, has to be addressed by the league.
-
The thing is, the rumour is probably not true, or at least not verified. I saw the picture on Musonda's instagram long before HLNE Belgium picked it up and immediately interpreted it as Musonda signing with Jorge Mendes. Judging by the image tag, it probably isn't. They probably just met at a gathering or something. Musonda also has deleted the picture.

I'm surprised he's being dismissed as a "liability defensively" after barely playing a dozen games for Chelsea. Like he doesn't need anytime to adapt to the team. The Filipe Luis I know, particularly from his Atleti days is NOT a defensive liability.
-
Pretty much this. I'm not expecting any miracles from him when he clearly lacks the fundamentals you listed. Schurrle might have been a better player in Mourinho's first team.
-
Even when Schurrle gets a run in the team, he still does the same thing, so........

Best moment of the season so far?
MrExcalibur100 replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Matthew Harding Stand
(1) Chelsea 6-0 Maribor. I think that was our best performance of the season in terms of actual football. Some of the football that night was simply astonishing. (2) Another highly enjoyable moment was putting those Scouse cunts to the sword. Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea. Just the complete superiority we showed after all the stick their fans gave us for playing defensively at Anfield last season. And just the sweetness of how quickly the table turned from last season to this. (3) Also, Costa's brace followed by his hattrick vs Everton and Swansea respectively. Not so much the goals, but the joy of knowing we finally had a top class finisher.
