  1. Looking at the table, we actually play 8 of the current top 10 at home in the 2nd half of the season. (City, United, Everton, Spurs, West Ham, Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham) with Liverpool at home as well who are currently 11th. That's a big advantage for us.
  2. I'm surprised the Guardian had anything that could be interpreted as being even remotely positive about our club considering how virulently anti-Chelsea they always are. Pictures of the old Stamford Bridge filled to the brim with CFC fans further illustrate how hopelessly addled the thought process of the typical Chelsea hating Kopite is. They're very quick to forget we won a European trophy before them and that "history" is not restricted to a certain period in a club's existence. Reading through the article, they're at it again talking shit about Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea. Sad bunch. Weird even. As for the actual article, the Old Stamford Bridge (I can only speak of 1997-2003 period, so not so far back) is in some ways, believe it or not, better than it is now and not just for nostalgic reasons. I remember going to see us crush Everton 3-0 with a brace from Jimmy, 2001, think it was. The atmosphere was electric from every corner/stand. And it generally was in those days, even in games when we expected to win. Nowadays, they're only up for it in the big Champions league games, as it was when I went for the 3-2 win over Liverpool, under Grant. Even the big London derbies are pretty tepid affairs, noise wise. Obviously it's not just us, it's the whole country. And it's a problem that sooner or later, has to be addressed by the league.
  3. The thing is, the rumour is probably not true, or at least not verified. I saw the picture on Musonda's instagram long before HLNE Belgium picked it up and immediately interpreted it as Musonda signing with Jorge Mendes. Judging by the image tag, it probably isn't. They probably just met at a gathering or something. Musonda also has deleted the picture.
  4. I'm surprised he's being dismissed as a "liability defensively" after barely playing a dozen games for Chelsea. Like he doesn't need anytime to adapt to the team. The Filipe Luis I know, particularly from his Atleti days is NOT a defensive liability.
  5. Pretty much this. I'm not expecting any miracles from him when he clearly lacks the fundamentals you listed. Schurrle might have been a better player in Mourinho's first team.
  6. Even when Schurrle gets a run in the team, he still does the same thing, so........
  7. (1) Chelsea 6-0 Maribor. I think that was our best performance of the season in terms of actual football. Some of the football that night was simply astonishing. (2) Another highly enjoyable moment was putting those Scouse cunts to the sword. Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea. Just the complete superiority we showed after all the stick their fans gave us for playing defensively at Anfield last season. And just the sweetness of how quickly the table turned from last season to this. (3) Also, Costa's brace followed by his hattrick vs Everton and Swansea respectively. Not so much the goals, but the joy of knowing we finally had a top class finisher.
  8. I think I'm officially done with this particular thread for at least a week. Jesus..
  9. Listen to yourself. The ballon D'or is an individual award. We pay Hazard's wages to win us big TEAM trophies not to win the ballon d'Or. If he wins it, i'll be very happy for him but the mere fact he plays for an English club and not the two big Spanish ones puts him in a disadvantaged position. Hazard, like every incredibly talented young player from that side of the globe dreams of winning the silly award. He's seen some of his favourite players like Zidane win it in the past and will like to win it as well. But the award has since lost it's value when it was taking from France Football and players started voting for their friends. Henry couldn't win it because UEFA hate England/English football. That's Thierry freaking Henry. That's when I realized being a great player is not enough to win the farcical award. It's even worse now that it's merged with FIFA and in this Ronaldo/Messi era. It's also very political. Have you seen the way they campaign for it in Spain? One Madrid player comes out and says "Ronaldo is the best player in the world", then next day a Barca player comes out and says "Messi is not from this planet". You think that's coincidental? Or Madrid and Ancelotti writing letters to UEFA complaining about Platini offering an opinion on who should win it? I don't want that shit near my club and I don't think it's in the spirit of football. Ballon D'or is bad for football. Mourinho said so himself. I don't want that shit anywhere near my club. More to the point, why should Hazard be measured by a dream that he has? That's absurd logic. It has nothing to do with nothing and only devalues the quality of the comments. It's a strange comment to make especially as Hazard has been amazing all season and it's only an individual award that does nothing for Chelsea. But type whatever suits you, I guess.
  10. I don't see what else Kasmirski can do to establish himself as the number 1 left-back. Pretty amazing free-kick from the lad. https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/2E0128D1E81156745649895669760_3309d831b4a.1.3.12817752881246750435.mp4?versionId=R1lxfZN.9BSkgM6qLPVmGA22zKmxYFh9
  11. Comments such as the one I replied to are what makes this particular thread on this particular forum unreadable at times. People moaning like bitches about Hazard needs to do this and that. Last time he "needs to score away" now he "didn't score a brace?". Really? Are you 10? No seriously?! This isn't FIFA, ffs. Fuck off.
  12. I just can't trust him to start games, especially away from home at this moment in time. You never know what to expect from Andre and that's what worries me the most about him.
  13. Why are you always moaning about anything and everything Hazard does? Jeez, take a chill pill, it's becoming embarrassing.
  14. Can Luis now be starting every game, huh? Dude is pure class. And why isn't Loic on the pitch?
  15. He's very fast, Boga and has a great change of pace to match his quickness. The only guy I can think of that is clearly quicker is Kiwomya and maybe Izzy. And to answer your question, yes, he has played out-wide, particularly on the right on several occasions for the youth team but his best position is central.
  16. I feel we can control Zlatan. Lucas Moura will be their biggest threat, at least in the 1st leg.
  17. Even if by some miracle they have a commanding win in Ukraine, they'll get absolutely murdered in Germany.
  18. That Arsenal draw is actually tougher than it looks. Yes, Monaco lost Falcao and Rodriguez but they still have some very good players and it won't be easy at their place. An upset there won't surprise me a lot.
  19. Some great match-ups there. JT vs Zlatan, Moura and Hazard on that left side, Fabregas vs Matuidi, Costa vs Thiago Silva/David Luiz (!) It's best we face the best now instead of some Mickey Mouse team. If we beat them, it will give us extra confidence to go on and win the whole thing. If we lose, we've lost to a great team, so we can focus on winning the league.
