  1. The amount of exposure such a transfer would bring to the league would be crazy. Make the guy a celebrity, and your analogy would be on point—it's a win-win.
  2. We were spoiled for far too long, unfortunately. Bono on a two/three year deal with the hope Slonina has a similar loan spell to the Snake. That would be the ideal scenario, and it would cost us peanuts in the process.
  3. Preseason or not, it's refreshing to see us score goals again. 9 goals in two games. 😃
  4. Could Jackson be that guy? Early signs are very good. On the topic of Casadei, he's far too good to spend a season in the Championship. He's impressed me the most out of the young trio of CM's over both games.
  5. If he does stay, I don't see where he can be utilised aside from being the furthest forward in a three man midfield. He's too much of a liability elsewhere.
  6. The talent has always been there. No buyback baffled me at the time.
  7. I'm surprised no one has gone for him yet. If Kvaradona leave Napoli, he'd be a perfect replacement. This is only the second time the majority of these players have played together. It's to be expected.
  8. Exactly! Talent alone isn't enough to be competitive, and it's been that way for some time. I'd rather have 11 Azpi's than 11 Neymar's any day of the week.
  9. Making jibes as if we're at the same level. Tragic tbh. This should be more reason as to why we need to drop this pursuit ASAP; don't succumb to their requests, let an unhappy player stink up the club, and we can go after someone who is a much better option all-around.
  10. If he helps them win a few titles in the meantime, no one will complain. I alluded to it before, but I see Mbappe joining RM in his late twenties and can see him joining a Prem team. It would have been interesting to see Griezmann's FM save come to life (Mbappe joining the Toon). However, that isn't feasible right now due to FFP.
  11. Who exactly is this "pretty reputable and respected investigator"? I'm unsure if supposedly false charges were dropped on his cousin. I'd hazard a good guess that no one here is well versed in all the goings on in French football, so tarnishing someone based on hearsay (which is what it is) is pointless. There's no chance in hell that he is. Just give Twitter a look to find out everything you need to know about his actions.
  12. As mentioned in the tweets, that lawsuit has no bearing on his article about Wahi & his cousin. The allegations were linked from his Wiki page, which can be altered by anyone with a brain cell. I'd like to think those making the decisions have the relevant information and are making a conscious decision prior to signing him. Fake news spreads like nobody's business, while the actual truth is shunned.
  13. Those allegations were supposedly regarding his cousin, not him. Separate budgets.
  14. He's content but is seemingly interested in moving to Inter. Which one is it? There - Jérôme Boateng - Player profile | Transfermarkt A free agent that would tick a number of boxes (if he remains fit) and has already played in the league. He started 21 games the season before that, so your point is? I specifically mentioned that I would be content with keeping him this season due to the lack of European football. If he's still on our books 12 months from now, we need move him on or be satisfy with mediocrity.
  15. You can have a reliable CB with experience as a backup instead. If our standards are that of Chalobah's skillset, you shouldn't be surprised as to why we haven't challenged for the title for an age. He started TWENTY ONE games last season, so by your understanding, he's CB 2 quality?
  16. I was just saying that things seemed to cool down on that front yesterday. So much for that. Levi staying should be a cert at this point, regardless of fee. He's a liability. I don't have too many concerns with him staying with no European football to worry about, but having him fill for a prolonged period across a 50+ game season is suicidal.
  17. I'm with you to a large degree, but should we really cut our noses to spit our faces, so to speak? If a deal is beneficial to us, I wouldn't be against it. Selling our players to them—forget that.
  18. Both of those players would fit us like a glove, and IMO, Barella is a better option. This Caicedo saga is dragging on far too long at this point.
  19. This is exactly what came to mind. If Liverpool were to offer £80m for someone who was even a regular at Brighton, I'd snap their hands off and use that cash to reignite our interest in Gvardiol, seeing as the links with City have died down. As good as Bastoni is, do we really want to deal with Inter again after the last two seasons?
  20. Scores like a machine? He scored 20 or more goals in all competitions for the first time last season, and in a few months, he will turn 25. The absolute most I'd consider spending is £50m, and even then, there's still a chance it may go the way of the last two players we acquired from the Bundesliga.
  21. I'd have to agree. Kane & Osimhen are the only options that are worth pursing, and with neither likely to join, we'd be better off sticking with what we have. A goal-scoring winger would be a nice stopgap till Jan or next summer, as I have the same worries as others here - Where are our goals going to come from?
  22. I just see pace. If that front line comes up against a physical defence, I see the same problems remaining. Spending almost £100m on unproven strikers (IMO) over a reliable one would sum up our transfer dealings.
  23. We gave a number of academy players a chance while we were transfer banned, and only James has shown he's up to the task. If they can't step up or deliver on a regular basis, there isn't much more we can do.
  24. This is exactly how I feel. There's no point in delaying the inevitable if a serious offer does come our way.
