I'm not disputing his role in any way, shape, or form. I just expect more from him on a regular basis (Barcelona tie sticks out like a sore thumb). This constant talk about him being the only creative player we've possessed for a number of years is a stretch to say the least.

He was playing with guys who were on the way done whilst he's supposedly amongst players in their prime now. We do have to remember he was involved in 40~ goals alongside Sow & Gervinho, so he's been around far worse. I hope we do our best this summer to get the most out him this summer. I'm in agreement with several nonetheless that he's being held back one way or another too often.

We can't compare him to our current crop and then slag them off for not being up to his standard the next. He should be head and shoulders above the rest 35-40 games out of 50 a season (Kante comes to mind). Why did he go missing for large parts of our title defences? Application or lack of is another thing he could be slated for. Do you think he's improved massively in 6 years?

Totally agree. He had that ruthless streak at Lille all be it in a weaker league, which seems to be a thing of the past now. Man City have no relevance to the conversation. We should be applauding our team instead of seeing the need to talk about others. Our biggest games were against Barca and he was invisible, so use "common sense".

Something I'd love to see for a change. AVB is the only manager we have had in recent years that wanted to attack first. However, he was out of his depth from day dot. A few exceptional performances got us over the line today.

Hazard wouldn't score 40 even at Barca, so this line needs to drop. His lack of consistency has nothing to do with the supporting cast but more to do with his application regardless of the occasion.

Consistency and stats are the reason why. You can add a CL final to that as well (10 goals in the biggest competition). Hazard is the better footballer without question but isn't anywhere near as productive as he should be. We're still waiting on him to make that jump 6 years later.
