The current state of the team is due to the previous "management." Summer window aside, Boehly has been making the right moves for the most part.
All of that would be undone if we signed CR7.
If this happened during the summer, I would have been on board with us moving for him. It makes no sense now, & if we were to make a move, it would be a clear indication of who's making transfer decisions.
There's a number of reasons why letting Mendy leave would make sense. We can only hope Slonina can follow a simple path to Thibo and make the position his own a few years down the line.
He's thrived with every NT he's managed. It's just a shame his brief stint in France was poor, as he'd probably be managing a notable side in Europe by now.
You and I both. He ticks so many boxes and would cost next to nothing in today's market.
The WC couldn't have come at a better time. There's no fight at all in this team, and it's a result of losing characters in the dressing room & not replacing them.
He's hardly played this season and is almost certain to leave in July.
Kante is almost certain to leave, Rudi is long gone, and Fofana/Chiwell aren't nailed on starts. The issue is how much dross we have and continue to buy every window.
I'm pleased to see those "untouchables" dropped. Great to see Hall rewarded with his PL debut after midweek's performance.
I'm hoping it's only a matter of time till Zakaria takes his place.
