  1. What in the living fuck are Bentaleb and Chambers doing on that list?
  2. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/banned-qpr-defender-rio-ferdinand-could-play-against-chelsea--and-in-a-new-position-9830785.html "QPR goalkeeper Robert Green has warned John Terry that Bobby Zamora will provide his toughest test of the season so far."
  3. Or even better, appoint me admin and let me ban you ;P.
  4. But that's the thing though, it is broken. I understand that some people like controversy and everything but how can you watch this: Along with the woeful decision in the Newcastle vs City game not to give a penalty for Obertan against Kolarov. No-one likes feeling cheated and if refs aren't capable enough (they're showing they're not) then we need video technology to help them.
  5. Had a dream last night that we won this 6-1 and Costa scored 4. Hazard and Schurrle getting the other 2. That better be deja vu!!
  6. I do love a good Mourinho stat but let's be honest here, it's not hard. After all there's only 1 team in London, and they play in blue.
  7. The ban was 1 game (2 yellow cards) and applies to all domestic games (so domestic league and domestic cups) so his ban was served against Shrewsbury on Tuesday.
  8. Such an easy solution. If Del Bosque carries on being an arsehole then just before Costa is meant to travel to international duty he goes down in training with an 'injury'. Something like a tight hamstring or tight groin which is impossible to prove but bad enough to keep him out for just 10 days while he recovers. The old fuck couldn't do a thing about it. Diego has all the power here. I'm all for players representing their countries whenever they can but if VDB is going to be that stubborn and pig-headed then it's entirely his fault - he's bringing this onto himself.
  9. Ah I see now. You're a closet Bayern fan . No other person in their right mind would suggest Benatia is the 3rd best CB in the world. It all makes sense now.
  10. So the consensus is... Cahill or Ivanovic short term, Matic, Azpi or Fabregas medium term, Courtois or Zouma long term . Sounds good to me!
  11. Not sure i've seen the same Boateng as others have seen.... Hummels is DEFINITELY better IMO. Name 3 CBs that are better than him? JT is the best CB in the PL and Hummels is better than him. I think Ramos and Thiago Silva are the only 2 better than him, and a fair few people will agree methinks.
  12. Zouma hasn't had a chance against top class opposition yet. I guess this season will provide us with the answer though .
  13. Usually agree with you but here... I don't agree. Zouma is as good as Kalas ATM and has more potential. Christensen has more potential than both but is so raw ATM. Zouma is the best all day.
  14. Yeah, i'm fine with the best CB in England, the next best English CB, a 19 year old quality CB who already has 64 first team appearances in the French Ligue 1 and the PL and a player who had Suarez and Sturridge in his back pocket last season. None of our CBs are 19!!! By the end of the season (the time I was referring to) Zouma will be 20 and Kalas will be 22. So how would we be playing 2 19 year olds? Also, age is irrelevant; if you're good enough then you're old enough. Also last season a certain Real Madrid played with 2 of their 4 CBs being Varane (20) and Nacho (22). And unless my memory fails me, Real won the CL last season didn't they? Soooo..... Pipe down unless you've got your facts straight.
  15. If you compare the teams with ratings out of 10 (in my opinion): City: Hart (8), Zabaleta (8.5), Kompany (8.5), Demichelis (6.5), Clichy (6.5), Fernandinho (7.5), Yaya Toure (8.5), Nasri (7.5), Silva (9), Navas (8), Aguero (9.5) Caballero (5.5), Kolarov (6), Mangala (6), Fernando (6.5), Milner (6.5), Dzeko (7), Jovetic (8). Overall: 78/110 on the pitch and 123.5/180 squad. Chelsea: Courtois (9), Ivanovic (8), JT (8.5), Cahill (7.5), Azpilicueta (7.5), Matic (8.5), Fabregas (9), Hazard (9), Oscar (8), Willian (7.5), Costa (9) Cech (8.5), Luis (7), Zouma (5.5), Ake (5), Ramires (6.5), Schurrle (6.5), Remy (8). Overall: 81.5/110 on the pitch and 128.5/180 squad. Think they're pretty fair ratings and essentially it shows we have a stronger squad and stronger starting 11. Then if you include the most important part of our teams (managers): Mourinho (10), Pellegrini (7) <---- That's the key part here.
  16. Aguero hasn't really ever had a season where he's been played as a lone striker so I don't think we can comment on whether he needs a strike partner or not.
  17. The only CBs that I would personally be ok with us signing if (and only if) Terry retires at the end of the season are Varane, Marquinhos, Benatia or Hummels. The first 3 wouldn't be available so Hummels is the only other option. And that's if Terry retires at the end of the year and if the price isn't stupid (<30M). If we could get Hummels though it would be a coup signing. He's far better than people give him credit for; my brother is a BVB fan and thinks that Hummels is by far the 2nd best player Dortmund have (behind Reus) and it is Weidenfeller making these mistakes not Hummels. For ~25M he would be a great signing so we could have Cahill/Hummels starting with Zouma and Kalas fighting to replace Cahill when they become better than him. That's a brilliant CB situation to have. But if we can't get any of the 4 I mentioned earlier then i'd rather recall Kalas and have Cahill, Zouma, Kalas and Ivan as our 4 CBs for a few years, then deal with the problem down the line. Of course this is all assuming JT retires at the end of the season, he's still looking like the best CB in England atm so no reason he can't keep going if both him and Mou think he's able..
  18. Ferdinand would have claimed that Costa scoring after sitting him down is racism. We know what this cunt is like. I will never be upset about not seeing that shit excuse for a human being on the pitch, I hate him so much I think it's mildly unhealthy.
  19. Pros: Actually a decent enough CB (people make him out to be worse than he is), lots of experience for his age, home-grown. Cons: No better than Cahill in ability and we have Zouma and Kalas, what would happen to them if we signed him? Rather give them 2 chance. So in conclusion:
  20. So what does everyone think of this then? For anyone who doesn't know, the Dutch FA have been secretly (don't know how) trialling video review technology in Holland in the last 3 months. They have 2 ex-referees sitting (currently in a van near the stadium, but obviously could be moved to a neutral venue) watching the game with 8 screens. After a key decision is made, replays are played on the screens (different angle on each screen) and if the 2 people watching agree that the referee has made the wrong decision then they radio the referee and tell him so, so he can make the correct decision. One of the main fears of this technology would be that the game would be slowed down by this technology but the Dutch FA have said that it took on average 3 seconds for the 2 people watching the replays to come to a decision which is not time at all. As to how this will be implemented, they have 2 suggestions: 1 could be to do it in the format mentioned above, where everything continues as normal but if the referee makes a wrong decision the 2 people watching can overrule it and let him know so his mind can be changed. The other suggestion is to have 1 challenge per manager per half where the manager can throw a red flag onto the pitch to immediately stop the game after a key decision has gone against them and the referee will stop the game to review it. The Dutch FA are filing for use of this technology in competitive games in the Dutch league and apparently Howard Webb and Mike Riley are travelling over there soon to see how it works with a view to implementing it in England in the near future. What do you lot think? Obviously the first suggestion is far more exciting and doesn't seem to have that many issues (although i'm sure people will find holes in it). Football moving out of the dark ages, who would have thought it 2 years ago? I think it's a great idea and long overdue after the recent refereeing howlers in nearly every game.
  21. Not the worst draw we could've got. Confident that we can get through to the semis if we play a full strength team (maybe with Ake, Remy and Zouma over JT, Costa and Matic). Could really see Bournemouth beating Liverpool and Newcastle giving Spurs problems. Saints will cruise into the last 4 as should we tbh.
  22. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/france/11194012/Former-France-coach-Raymond-Domenech-mocks-Jose-Mourinhos-inflated-opinion-of-himself.html Essentially calls Jose a translator with an inflated opinion of himself. What a bitter nobody.
