Should Sarri continue with the false 9 then three out of four wingers (of which 2 are injured right now) in the team are constantly on the starting XI which is unsustainable. The club has to make it to the CL next season and there has to be enough players so that both top4 finish and Europa League victory are achievable. Counting on just one of the routes to CL would be too risky given how tight the PL is this season and how many quality teams there are left in the Europa League. Paying few million extra to get Lozano or someone else is pocket change in comparison to the damage missing out on CL again would do

Biggest complaint about Jorginho I have right now is that he can't or won't shoot the ball. He gets into very good shooting positions multiple times each game but barely ever takes the shot. I think he should really improve in that aspect in the future. Out of all the players he gets into the best central shooting positions the most often. Barkley and Kante usually find themselves in much more crowded spots around the 16 yard box and thus they can't take a clear shot

Depends on the game. Against City or Liverpool he wouldn't start but against busparking teams Crystal Palace/Newcastle etc (basically the bottom half teams) he could probably play in any advanced position. We have huge problems breaking down teams like this and Mata could be a big asset in such games.

Juan Mata is available for free in the summer. I think he could be a useful addition to the squad. We need more left-footed and intelligent attacking players and that's exactly what Mata is. Plus his outstanding ability in corner kicks and free kicks is very much needed. I'd bet that with Mata we would have won today's game with more than one goal

I wonder if Sarri will always continue to ignore the players outside of the core squad or will he start to rotate more frequently once he has the right players at his disposal and feels that all the players in the squad are extremely comfortable with his tactics. We don't really know the answer to this because at Napoli he didn't have the resources to build a squad full of quality players

Perhaps he wanted a left footed player to play on that side for a while? Currently we have no players there that can comfortably pass with their left foot and it makes that side (and the entire team) even more predictable and vulnerable. If not then I dont either have a clue why he put Emerson there I believe someone posted a tweet that pointed the lack of left footers in this thread as well...

To be honest he didn't have much choice today. Had to play Giroud because Pedro is injured, had to sub Giroud because he got injured. No way in hell would Morata ever make it to bench nevermind the pitch today if those two players didn't get hurt To me it seemed like the tactic fell apart as soon as Giroud was subbed. Playing with false 9 for the last 15 minutes could have prevented that but there was no option to play that today
