Then get him in there, I say!

Since many key Euro players will not join the squad until the trip to the USA (Hazard, Cesc, Bats, Kante, Pedro, Cahiil, Courtois), I am not sure it matters a great deal. Put Costa and Traore up top, with Moses, Kenedy, RLC, Aina and Willian behind them in a 3-5-2 formation. Go with Baba, Ivanovic, Azpilicueta in the back to see how ugly it can be with Ivanovic at CB.

Solid comments, mate. Ivanovic has been an important player through the years and overall, I like the guy and wish he could find his former again, but I do not think he can. I think it has passed him by unfortunately. Mikel is not starting XI quality. I would keep Moses over Mikel at this point. I have been reading all the quotes and stories from training the past two days. Does not sound like AC is going to put up with slack efforts for long. RLC just seems to lose interest too often. He has a great physique and potential, but does he want it enough? I would keep the core: Costa, Bats, Hazard, Willian, Cesc, Pedro, Traore, Kante, Kenedy, Terry, Cahill, Zouma, Azpilicueta, Courtois and Begovic, but Ivanovic, Baba, Mikel, Oscar, Remy and Matic can move on at this point. Moses, RLC and Cuadrado are debateable in my opinion. Just my two cents following last year and ONE preseason match. Come on you Chelsea!!

Well, it looks like we are about to get back at it. Can't stop thinking about tomorrow, yesterday's gone. Time to start a new. Excited about what we will look like this year. Come on you Chelsea!!

Come on front office, make this happen. This would be another big signing. Get Kalidou to the Bridge then we can focus on an additional striker, but another CB must come first. Kalidou, make it Chelsea blue.
-
HUGE signing by the Chels!! First of many key additions in July let's hope. Great news just before pre-season kicks off. Come on you Chelsea!!
-
Sky Sports reporting paperwork being signed tonight per their Transfer Centre. Appears to be breaking news. Welcome Kante if true!
-
This guy is another key piece for Conte and the rest of us for 2016-17. Let's get this dude to Stamford Bridge in Chelsea blue!
-
Daily Telegraph reporting we have made a 34 million pound offer, so unless Talk Chelsea is the source, it is not fake http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/07/chelsea-transfer-news-antonio-conte-makes-kalidou-koulibaly-main/ Still believe this would be an important pick up for the Chels!!
-
Maybe I misinterpreted it or misread it, but Sky Sports attributes it to the Telegraph in Paper Talk. Maybe not a free agent but appears he would be allowed to leave. http://www.skysports.com/football/transfer-paper-talk

I am a little more skeptical at the moment of the reports of this signing, BUT if we can get Kante and the others we are in it with, this could be a nice summer transfer window for us. Kante would be very nice addition. Really impressed last year.
-
Story seems to be in a lot of places. Could still fall through, but what a tremendous "add" this would be. Hope it goes through and strengthens our central defence.
-
Saw a mention today in Telegraph that it's Chelsea leading Everton for Pelle's services following his release from Southampton this weekend. Appears to be a big Conte believer. Would be a nice pickup, not as a Costa replacement obviously, but a nice pickup. Anyone see this anywhere else?

I agree with the Terry and Drogba part for sure. If any one doubts JT, just watch the video of him addressing the crowd at the Bridge after the last home game. Unfortunately, with every passing year, players like JT that have deep passion and love of a club are becoming fewer and fewer. With the huge influx of international players, there just is not that life long bond like JT has. Heck, even Gerrard has it for Liverpool. For Jose, I think once this year was officially in the dumper and he was released, I do believe it became business. If he continued to compete at Chels, I think he would have been here for a long time. But the wheels came off and it became a dumpster fire. He loves the Premier League. He has always admired Man United. That has been well known. I think he will always love Chelsea and think fondly of his time at the Bridge. I would be greatly disappointed if in 3 years he is coaching the likes of Norwich or Villa like Benitez with Newcastle. Think fondly of Jose, but it is business, time to look onwards and upwards and look to Conte to lead the new Chelsea charge. Hope we are active early in the signing window. Come on you Chelsea!!

Agreed. The media circus has kicked in high gear. I figure the Guardian or Mirror has planted a toilet camera in Jose's home so they can update us every time he has to go. Seriously though, we should fly under that radar along with Klopp, Wenger and even Ranieri. The pre-season build up will be Jose vs Pep. If Jose "buys" like the past few years, I expect, as the papers suggest, them to by 34-year old Ibrahimovic, over priced John Stones and Juan Cuadrado Look, Jose is a Chelsea legend and always will be. Something happened between the he and his players in the fall. Did they all quit on him? No. Did some struggle to play their best, sure. Don't count out the effect his disrespect of Eva had on the locker room. Regardless, the club cut him loose. He did not quit on Chelsea. If he wants to go to United, so be it. We have all moved on and welcome Conte. Have to admit, I look forward to the first Man U - Arsenal matchup next year as the Mourinho-Wenger domination heats up again Come on you Chelsea!!
-
I agree. The press loves them some Klopp. They speak as if they have played superbly since he arrived. Results do not support it. Come on you Chelsea!!
-
For what it is worth, PL table after Jose was sacked after week 16 (all teams had 22 matches remaining): Leicester City 46 Tottenham 44 Southampton 42 West Ham 38 Arsenal 38 Man United 37 Liverpool 36 Chelsea 35 Man City 34 Given all of the frustrating draws we had, I am surprised we were in the pack of the usual suspects of Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool, etc. Come on you Chelsea!!
-
Need all three points to avoid worst PL season of 50 points. Not much of a consultation but better than a loss and being the worst at 49 or a draw at 50 tying the worst. Come on you Chelsea!!
-
Wow, what a flunking final result. Just shaking my head at Begovic. Nice assist. Team played more than well enough to win. Missed 3 or 4 chances to go up 2-0. Oh, well. FFS, the year is just about done mercilessly. Come on you Chelsea!!
-
Hard to believe a match at Anfield has most of us kind of like, "yawn", ho hum. Just shows how rotten a season it has been I suppose We are all ready for Summer and Conte to get to acquiring and releasing. This "ho hum" feeling has me thinking. What was our best, most exciting victory of the year? One that got you up out of your seat at the match or in front of the TV screaming when the final whistle blew? Was there one? I think it has to be our 0-1 win at Emirates over Arsenal on January 24th. Honestly, the draw with Spurs 2-2 at the Bridge was the best I have felt about the team all year on May 2nd. The January 16th last minute goal by JT (even if offsides, who cares) to draw with Everton 3-3 at home was a terrific finish. Plus, there was that 1-5 win over MK Dons in the FA Cup in late January (lol). Pretty sad, little list actually. Oh, well, the season will "officially" be over soon. Come on you Chelsea!!
-
The 'Pool will most likely play some youth with the Europa final a week away, then again, maybe we see the first team since they can rest them Sunday. Who knows, either way, I have seen enough of Courtois, Mikel, Ivanovic, Mikel, Oscar and Matic this season. Give Willian and Costa a rest. Mix in Hazard and Pedro with Traore, RLC, Kenedy, Baba and Begovic. Match means little, and is an exhibition for the most part at this point. Play the second team and let's see what happens. Come on you Chelsea!!
-
Wooooooooooooooo! Hell, yes! What a match. What a second half effort it was. Hazard showed what he can do. Let's hope Conte can get that out of him 100% of the time, but that is the future. As for tonight, what a satisfying effort. Fans were on their game. Thought the team played well, everyone, except for a couple of "doh!" plays by Mickel and Ivanovic getting lost once or twice.Cesc, Costa, Willian and Hazard all came to fight. It goes without saying that JT came to play and fight for the Blues. I hope we can get him in the squad next year. Now, as for Tottenham, I thought they showed their true scum character when they turned the final 10-15 minutes into a "bust up" trying to injure numerous of our players. Hope it hurts you thugs! Thought our players held their composure through most of the tempers flaring, even Costa. Cesc may have had a tough first half, but he played most of the second half as he cares about the badge on his shirt. Great night for all Blues (and Foxes) everywhere throughout the land. Enjoy lads and drink one for me! Come on you Chelsea!!
-
Other than Hazard, I think he is giving the old Jose lineup one last appearance at the Bridge in a meaningful match to show what they have or don't. Come on you Chelsea!!

One more additional table tidbit that seems a little odd to me is: with a WIN tomorrow night over Spurs, Chelsea will have the third best performance in the PL since Mourinho was released on December 17, 2015. With the win, we would have 35 points since Jose and would only be behind Spurs (43) and Leicester (41) and just ahead of West Ham (35) on goal difference during this time span. I say this is odd because, though Hiddink has gotten the team headed in a positive direction, third best does not seem right as I think we all feel the club has fallen flat too many times in 2016. Guess all those draws count for something after all Come on you Chelsea!!
