Given that were eliminated from the Champions League hunt a while ago (top 4) and we really don't care for Europa qualification, what is the real difference between 6th and 10th? And since we did not advance in the Capital One Cup and FA Cup, about the only two things we can accomplish heading into the Summer of Conte and hopefully big signings is (1) finish 9th with over 50 points to avoid the worst PL season in CFC history and (2) finish strong in the London Derby table, which correct me if I am wrong but would not a victory Monday night give us the best record among all London clubs vs the other London clubs? Perhaps we would still finish a close second to Spurs in London table, but still, it would be nice to gut these clowns at the Bridge. I hope we start a relatively strong XI, with maybe a RLC and/or Baba or Kenedy mixed in. Would love to see Leicester win the league at this point, but would be fun if they lose tomorrow at United and we can officially eliminate Tottenham. Come on you Chelsea!!

Understand, BUT should Spurs win tomorrow and Leicester wins at Man U on Sunday, WE can ELIMINATE them Monday at the Bridge! Now, that would be fun! Come on you Chelsea!!

Someone posted the PL London table recently from one of the papers and Chelsea was actually a close second. Poor Gooners only have one London derby victory. Win this one and we may go top or at least just a one or two points shy. Strange considering the entire season. Doubling Arsenal and then taking 4 of 6 points from this lot would make for some consolation this year, no matter how small. As for the table, 51 points (4 more out of a possible 16) would give us 51 and escape the lowest CFC total in a 38 match PL season - 50 in 1995-96. 15 losses are the most for CFC in a 38 match season - 1997-98. Worst 4 PL season: 1995-96 50 pts (38 GP), 1993-94 51 pts (42 GP), 1994-95 54 pts (42 GP) and 1992-93 56 pts (42 GP). Again, no real consolation, but lets avoid the worst CFC year in the PL by at least getting to 51 points. Hope we have a full squad and we win. Hope it hurts for all Spurs fans next Monday. Nice result today. Cesc was "on" today, should have had 5 assists easily, maybe 6. Played well. Though Pedro was up and down throughout the game, still thought he played well. Hazard obviously got in there twice. He looked a bit thinner today, which was good to see him fit. Matic looked much better than early in the season. Mickel at CB. Oh, my word. Woeful, but we survived. Wanted to see Begovic play well, but he looked lost instead. He could have allowed 2 or 3 more easily. Miss JT. Need him next week AND NEXT YEAR!! Come on you Chelsea!!

Can we avoid the lowest point total in one season? Need 7 out of 5 matches. Can't get a draw in all and get there

Summer, hell! Get busy now Conte better be maxing out his cell hours burning up phone lines throughout Europe. Come on you Chelsea!!

I interpreted the report on the official Chelsea FC Twitter page that Hazard is 50/50. Quote from Hiddink: "Terry will not be in, Hazard is on the edge and Remy is out. Cahill and Matic are in " I did not read where he said Hazard is definitely out. Maybe I missed it. This would be a nice one to win. Most everyone is rested. Come on you Chelsea!!

Really surprised how down everyone is after today's match. Yeah,we lost to a bottom table club, but the starting XI should have probably given you the advance notice of the likely result. I am surprised it was only 1-0. Could have been 3-0 easily. Though I am glad to see the likes of Pato, Baba, etc get playing time, and they should so we can see what they do or do not have, it is becoming clear they are not top flight quality. At least not when half the squad on the pitch is from this group. Not sure many from today's match are on the team next year, Pato, Baba, Miazga, Falcao, Oscar and Mikel. Pato looked really small and not a top tier player in my opinion. We all know Oscar needs to move on. i felt Pedro and Cesc played okay considering who they had with them. Pedro set up a couple of scoring chances but our guys could not finish. Cesc struggled at times today but I thought only because no one was creating space or runs leaving him no options. RLC started well and good movement, but thought by halftime was spent. Still a keeper needs to keep working hard. Mikel has given us all he has and there is not much left. Our midfield is in shambles. Breakout the cash Roman this summer, please! Oh, that back line today. As bad as the first 10 games were defensively this season, today was worse. Never seen so many standing around and then when they got to the ball, they gave no clue how to clear much less clear from danger to a teammate. Sorry, Baba is not PL quality. Miazga was embarrassingly poor. Awful clearance for their goal. He will be nice loan fodder next year. These guys made us forget Ivanovic. Falcao? Later my man. Traore and Kenedy are keepers. Begovic kept us in it. He was all over the place with no one playing in front of him. It is very obvious the gap between Costa, Willian, Hazard and the group out there today. Hope we see them back next week and year. Need to add some top level help for these guys. Especially CB and LB along with Midfield. Honestly, I would sign JT for one more year. We need his heart. If there is any truth to a £70 million offer for Courtois, I am a seller. We could buy a lot for that price. So, as I said, why so shocked today. Very little talent out there. Come on you Chelsea!!

Nice half. RLC positions himself well. Good for Pato. Miazga has handled himself well too. Obviously playing one of the worst clubs in all of England. Let's see if Courtois can keep the clean sheet. No excuse to allow a goal to this group. Unless Baba continues to look for Villa assists. Let's finish them off. Come on you Chelsea!!

No need to be negative at this stage. It's the final 7 match run in to wrap the season. Only had 20 points at halfway point (5-5-9). We have 20 since in about half the games (5-6-0). Would like to see us get 15+ points out of 24 and a top 8 finish. Can do without Europa League next year myself. If we finish top 8, have 55-58 points, finish top 4 for the second half of the season, it's probably the best we could do considering the absolute craptastic start. I am ready for the Conte regime to begin. I am ready to see who wants to wear the CFC badge. If Courtois and Hazard want to leave, sell them. Begovic played well during the early shambolic defending games. He deserves to play. So, though saying the season has been a nightmare is an understatement, let's keep hoping to see more of Kenedy, RLC, Traore, etc mixed in and keep winning. We should win this one and in statement fashion. Diego is out correct? Let's see Kenedy at LB, RLC at Mid next to Cesc and Traore up top. I'd start Begovic. What do you say? Come on you Chelsea!!

You know, I honestly thought we outplayed Hammers all but about 5 minutes in the first half and 5 minutes in the second half. Of course, they scored in each of those 5 minute periods. Courtois, what has happened to you? Thought we played inspired after the half, bringing on Pedro, Traore and RLC helped this. Could have scored a couple of goals on corner headers that just went high. Yeah, the draws are getting old, but considering no Costa, 2-2 is not awful. Oscar is awful Cesc has really come on strong second half of the season. I think he remains on the keep list. I think Pedro has earned a shot next year as well. The first half of the season, we gave up goals in wild, chaotic scrambles by our back line. We looked as if we had never played together before. I feel half our goals allowed second half has been on Courtois. He should have stopped many of them. All and all, not a terrible result today. Here is to you Cesc, MotM!! Come on you Chelsea!! Villa is next.
