Who do you replace at half, Oscar or Pedro, or both and bring on RLC & Kenedy or RLC and Ramires??????????????
-
R-L-C at half, please!
-
On the replay, Pedro's pass was slightly nicked, which redirected it. Perhaps he should have looked elsewhere, but was not a direct pass to a WBA player.
-
Get in there Azpilicueta! 1-0 the Chels!
-
Only us real supporters tuned in today I am continually impressed with our approach each game under Guus. So far so good. Come on you Chelsea!!
-
Costa - saw him hobble off when replaced but had stepped away for about 5 minutes. Did he do anything to get injured? Was there something earlier I missed? Didn't seem to be hamstring.
-
Too bad all those earlier folks refused to watch. Terrific RLC goal and now Kenedy on. They missed all of this. 2-0! Come on you Chelsea!!
-
I get wanting to see a few of the youth, but come on, this club has been needing to catch some form since July in Montreal. Guus has been there 3 weeks so he is trying to get some attacking chemistry to form. If he just wanted the result, you would probably have seen Kenedy, etc in the XI. i think this is about more that just the result. Enjoy the match lads. Relax about the XI and be happy with the effort so far. Come on you Chelsea!!

Enjoyed the day! I, along with others that predicted it in the pre-match, nailed the 3-0 win The team started out average in the first 10 minutes but then slowly built confidence and absolutely controlled midfield in the second half as well as controlled the match. Mikel was MoTM! Not sure he can maintain such a performance throughout the year, but so far in his appearances after Jose departure, he has really looked solid. The players looked like they were enjoying the second half more and more as the match wore on. You could see chemistry building and the shackles of non-attacking football going away. Is Willian not the heart and soul of the forward attack!? So happy he got in there to put us ahead 2-0. That was a huge goal. Thought Pedro showed a lot of hustle, even though he missed on a couple of key passes. Fabregas even showed some signs of the old Cesc we knew from early last year. The biggest thing that jumped off my TV screen was the hustle and aggressiveness by EVERYONE, especially in the second half, by coming up and intercepting midfield passes or dispossessing players right after they gained possession. They were all flying around. Can't forget Courtois and the backline. Courtois had a key save just 60 seconds before Willian put us up 2-0. Zouma showed some quickness getting back on a couple of occasions to snuff out opportunities for Palace. Glad to see Azpilicueta okay after the early kick in the head. I want to spend more time to comment on Diego. Best all around game he has had in many, many months. He played defense. He dispossessed the opposition, he disrupted the Palace attack, he was selfless with a beautiful assist, he found the net AND he did not throw a tantrum. He may be the most improved player so far (and Mikel) post Jose. He has shown some emotions here and there BUT nothing like under Jose. He was the main player I wanted to see how he would respond after the manager change. I was curious if all of the ridiculous diving, pounding the ground, trouncing opposing players, picking fights, etc was his true disposition or was he taking on the persona as directed by Jose? So far, we have seen the "skilled" and "team player" Diego after the change. I hope this is not just a short term switch and is the real Diego. He can be such a difference maker with play like today and the prior 2 or 3 games. Really missed "this" Diego vs United. Time will tell, but this Diego is winning me back. The theatrics from the past 12 months were way over the top and embarrassing. This Diego looks like a leader. Hope Hazard can get fit as well. A healthy Eden could bolster this attack just that much more. I like the rotation we have in attacking midfield of Hazard, Pedro, Oscar and that man Willian is beginning to show signs of something special. And those loud fans at Selhurst Park today, great job by you all! Come on you Chelsea!!

Happy New Year's to all my Chelsea mates on TC! Here is to making 2016 a great year. Time for the turn around. Onward and Upward! Chelsea with the 3-0 win Sunday! Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Let's go with a new look for this one: - - - - - - Courtois - - - - - - Azpi - Zouma - Terry - Kenedy - Ramires - Mikel - Matic - - Willian - Remy - Hazard - Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Okay, it's been 24 hours so here goes. Ivanovic was his usual self and was beaten continuously. Nothing new here. A few on here have suggested Kenedy in this position and I would be open to seeing it. Thought he played okay his one match there. Why not give him another. He's got pace and physical enough plus some offensive prowess. Cesc. At least Guus could see it and subbed him out at halftime for Mikel. Sadly, Mikel looked better than Cesc going forward. Why does Oscar even take the pen?? Should have been Costa all the way. Strange decision. Thought Costa had his best game in a long time. He seemed to play under control for the most part while showing better positioning and pace. He was not playing from the wing all day! The late yellow was stupid. Willian played a superb game though he was off on some of his passes and free kicks, but overall played well. Hazard made an immediate impact when he came on a drew two defenders every time at the corner of the box. This should open things up for others, Some bad luck with deflection on the second Watford goal. Oscar's pen was unlucky if not just atrocious. All and all, could have easily been a 3-2 win if Oscar drills it home and everyone would have felt really good about the result I think, so don't let Oscar's poor shot ruin the effort. I saw improvement in most phases of the game and hope the improvement continues each and every match. Top 4 is unlikely so let's focus on getting better each game and trying to have success in the FA Cup and CL. Ultimately, our success THIS year will be defined by who we sign in January & Summer and who is named coach. If those decisions are excellent, the finish to 2015-16 will be defined as a success given our current position. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

With the change in manager, let's see what the lads have in them. Lots of energy and attacking (for us) yesterday but let's see how we look against a top half squad. Watford is playing well. I would like to see us play our best yet on Boxing Day. I felt the back four was the most active I have seen vs Sunderland and hope this trend continues. I liked what I saw in Willian-Oscar-Pedro yesterday. Was that the exception or more of what will come? Am I crazy, and please let me know if I am , but why do we not see more of Remy? Costa came close yesterday but would honestly like to see Remy given more of a chance. Then today during the Swansea-WHU match the commentators say rumors are swirling about a January loan of Remy to the Swans in January. This only makes sense if we have a big name coming in January. I am excited about the Watford game to see if we can come to play two straight games and play like the Chelsea of years gone by. It's at the Bridge. Get behind the Blues! I know the Jose thing is frustrating but as John Terry said afterwards, we have to begin moving forward now. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
-
The shackles have been removed and they can play free today with no repercussions.
-
Come on folks. Love Mourinho for all he has done. Lots of silver ware etc, but his era is gone. Get behind the Chels!! Lads are playing hard and attacking. Set Jose aside and enjoy my friends!! Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
-
Agree. What does everyone expect one match Steve to roll out there? Now the question is, how do these players perform today? They wanted it (most did any way it appears) so here is your wish lads, make something of it. The only two changes from the lineup I would like to have seen was no Cesc and Remy for Costa. Other than scoring goals, which he does, what does Remy have to do to get into the XI? Let's begin the process of moving forward and play all out attack and to win. Lets see what we get today. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

It's time. Time things start going our way a bit. It begins with a good draw in about 8 hours for the Uefa Champions League Knockout stage. I'll go with KAA Gent as the Chelsea opponent. This to be followed by another spirited performance by the Blues following the win over Porto. There will be a Hazard goal and a Chels victory, I'll go 1-2. Do not forget the added confidence Courtois gives our back line. No Cesc in the starting XI, Jose! Please! Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
-
Best performance of the year. No Cesc has been a real lift in my opinion. Very pleased with the runs by Costa and Hazard. Matic and Ramires handled midfield. And Willian again the heart of the team. Zouma and Terry play well. Come on you Chelsea!!
-
Lost for words. Carlos time!
-
Played better but failed to win. A draw is "ok" considering the start of the season. Performances are better, except for Cesc who has lost his mind. Thought we just missed on a few attempts that were either just barely wide or a great save by Llorris. The effort is improved and hopefully we can finish out 2015 strong over our 5 matches in December. Are there 3 or 4 wins in there? We have only given up one goal in our last 4 all competitions and only 8 over the past 10 matches. Need to find some goals to go along with our improved back line. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Really need this one. It'd be nice to win a big one this year. I know we took care of Arsenal, but the game was ugly. I'll take that win, but would like to win one without gooning it up and playing beautiful football Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Yes! This is correct as I know it. Just like when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor. Seriously, I believe you have it 100% spot on!
-
This is getting humorous on the tiebreaker scenarios and rules. There are more explanations than Steven Gerrard goofs. From the Internet, and we all know how reliable it is (ha!): The teams are ranked according to points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss). If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied in the order given to determine the rankings (regulations Article 17.01):[1] higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question; superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question; higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question; higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question;
-
Isn't the second tiebreaker in this scenario goal differential in GAMES PLAYED AGAINST TIED TEAMS only? I believe this correct and would result in Dynamo +1, Chelsea 0 and Porto -1.
-
I think if we draw vs Porto, and given a Dynamo win over MTA, the group rankings go through the tiebreaker process since all three would have 11 points and we would be second not first. First tiebreaker for rankings in the group is total points vs all teams tied, and each of the three would have five points vs each other only so on to tiebreaker number 2, which is goal differential among tied teams in games against each other only, which would leave Dynamo +1, Chelsea 0 and Porto -1, thus second place for Chelsea. We beat Porto and on to knockout stage as group winner.
